As an old mechanic who no longer have the energy to do such work. I can honestly say watching this Man he is methodical and cares about his work quality something you rarely see these days. Keep up the good work young man. 👍
As a hobbyist/immature repair person, I have found this video delightful. He did not chose a single wrong tool for the job, did parts blindly (without having direct visual contact) and did not hit any wrong part with hammer. Changing a whole clutch single handedly, outside of a full fledged garage, amazing. I have an older version of same car, so I can relate my frustration and failures when I was trying to replace smaller parts. I own this car for over three years and biggest part replacement I did, costed me less than 30€ for the part (I work with my friend who is qualified mechanic and does repair anything from golf cart to heavy duty trucks) and charges me about 30-35 for whole day's worth of job (of course I am there to assist and do half the work myself)
NIce work. I have a Kia Ceed SW 2.0 CRDI 140 HP with more than 411.000 km almost 95% in motorways and I am afraid about the day to make such work in a dealer. You are simply superb!!!
This car was a nightmare … for me to watch :)) to much parts there. I LOVE your workl, I wish to be like you some day… keep up with good work. Stay healthy.

Great job on the filming. Its not an easy job to change a clutch on a driveway in the rain let alone having to film it at the same time and set up all the shots!
Hi, one to do by a week. If I understand well regarding other comments, you wanted to remove the TDC sensor before removing the gearbox in order to avoid to break it 🤣 well done !
Hard work doing all that on your back. We do all the maintenance on our ranch vehicles and equipment out here in Colorado and have to lay on our backs also. If you had air on your van would you rather use an air hammer than your manual hammer and chisel? Debating buying an air hammer for some uses.
Hey, great video quick question. I’ve the same car, on my way home clutch pedal went flat to the floor and no brake fluid in reservoir. Brought it to a local mechanic he said it was the clutch. How can this be if the fluid is leaking out when I pour more in. Any ideas ?
Hi, I am having trouble removing a 2013 Kia ceed outter ball joint from the shaft. It won't come off. Any tips to removing the ball joint from the shaft? Is there any clips inside to be removed? Or does it come off with a hammer
Entertaining to watch .Being a mechanic myself I wonder what brand of gloves you are using? They never seem to rip/tear in any of the video's I watched. Greetings from Curacao!
Having same problem with sticking gears. Did you get to the problem? After googling it, a few people with same problem and a low biting clutch said it needed new clutch.
How many miles did the car have when you did this clutch replacement? Has the car been running fine in general? I'm looking at buying a used Kia Carens with around 30-40k miles.
Eek - I have the SW version of this car on 88k, still on first clutch. Looking at how much stuff had to come out of the engine bay, I think I will leave that to the next owner.
@@WMCS Yeah, I spoke to soon. But do you ever have to replace a clutch on a car with a subframe? I have a 2008 Kia Rio and the subframe has to be removed to get the transmission out completely.
Crankshaft sensor breaking in the bell housing 😤 Abs sensors are the same if it’s any consolation Kev…. Did you anticipate it breaking and have a replacement just in case
I always carry spare ones for these. Always happens. They get damage whilst pulling out the gearbox if not removed. And you can’t get them easily off the shelves. It’s a two to three day order. I learnt the hard way with this one.
mate i have same car when i got it it was near the floor the clutch bite and after 2years i changed the clutch just the not flyweel and it was fine back to normal
Of course that sensor would snap off in the gearbox. The joys of being a mechanic. Having to explain to the customer that that broke and it needs replacing.
I can’t put gearbox back to clutch ,I lost my power and faith..I don’t know what I am doing wrong ,maybe engine level is wrong ,maybe angle is wrong or maybe ..

Professional from start to finish. Professional approach to filming as well. Clever man. Thank You for generous instruction.
I have only recently come by your channel, its absolutely brilliant!
No chat with clear camera angles.
Great work..
I came across this video purely by accident. Quite possibly the BEST automotive repair demo video I have seen. Sooooo good not to have talking in it!!
Thanks for the feedback Jeff

Awesome work Kevin, you wouldn't need to go to the gym after a day like this.
Brilliantly efficient, top class.

Ouch! Hope you are okay bro, that gearbox came off so easy when pulling. That gearbox is not light as it looks for us viewers. Great job again 👌.
You saw that mate .. it was a soft landing but did knock some wind out of me ..😆🍻

Great Job!! which liquid is used the clean the parts ? water+dish detergent?
Seriously good videos. Going to tackle mine soon and catastrophically fuck it up. But hopefully this will give me an idea of how to sort it out ahain

AGAIN Kevin another job very well done. Curious,........ how many of those jobs do you do in a day??
Im guessing this would be the same as a 2012 petrol ceed? Also did you have to toque anything?
i have same car is there a way to check a clutch has been changed without removing gearbox, as i just brought this car
Good work
Wow, Lots of works on Kia. Which car has a easiest structure to change clutch you ever did?

great work and hard work buddy, and kevin, hope that gearbox was ok when you bounced it off your six pack.👍
I am pretty sure it was fine. He went easy on it so it could live another day.

It’s orange nitrile.. there’s different ones. I go for the heavy duty. A bit more pricey. But I use pair per job.
You can Tell me wich cars car is easy to work on it ? Thank you
How much would something like this cos and how long does it take?
How much does that cost, i have the same car that needs a clutch, do you cover Yorkshire.
No DMF awesome 👍
I am here fast :D
First one on the line.
I wonder what the easiest car to do a clutch replacement on is? Or if there are some make/model of cars he refuses to work on?
There’s a few out there
👌👌👌
Did your gears stick when putting it in reverse and 1st gear? Other gears are absolutely fine which is head scratching 🧐
Having same problem with sticking gears. Did you get to the problem? After googling it, a few people with same problem and a low biting clutch said it needed new clutch.
Hey, i have a question. On 1:08:43 you put grease in a hole. For what is this? And what for grease you put in? Thanks in advance. A helpfully video.
He just filled the gearbox with oil, pick any suitable brand you prefer.
How many miles did the car have when you did this clutch replacement? Has the car been running fine in general? I'm looking at buying a used Kia Carens with around 30-40k miles.
On average the clutch on these 1.6 lasts about 80k miles regardless of how it’s being driven. That’s how they’re designed.
Eek - I have the SW version of this car on 88k, still on first clutch. Looking at how much stuff had to come out of the engine bay, I think I will leave that to the next owner.
Do you use an engine support bar? I'm just wondering how you are supporting the engine once you remove the transmission?
As you see in the video …

Is that the crankshaft sensor you took out off gearbox?
That’s correct
Of course that sensor would snap off in the gearbox. The joys of being a mechanic. Having to explain to the customer that that broke and it needs replacing.
