    This is absolutely the best way to do this job, all you need is the socket, a small elbow swivel and that extension! Of course a simple wretchet or breaker bar. But this is the easiest and most simple way you don’t have to go buy all them fancy tools like on all the others videos.

    Thank you so much for going through all that trouble and posting this. I spent about 2 hours trying to figure out how to remove that, and I finally gave up and just reconnected the hoses I had removed. I was able to get that gray clip up, but I didn't know you had to then press on that same part (I was trying to squeeze together the two blue plastic pieces, to no avail). You have saved me from removing the entire intake to get to it!

    Thanks for the video, you got way better angles than anyone else. Tip for those with larger hands, I struggled for 3 hours trying to press the release in after getting the safety clip up, it's so tight my hand just couldn't move. I finally got it left handed with my thumb and pointer finger closest to the ground, the angles in that orientation were way better and it only took one try that way and it came off easy

    @Thelatemodeltech - thank you for the video. I went ahead and tried the replacement on my 2008 Tahoe LTZ. The engine seems a little more set back than your rig than my Tahoe which required a hood removal. I was able to get the job done. The only hitch I ran into was using the EVERCRAFT brand socket from Napa. As the sensor was loosened the top of the socket didn't have enough clearance to extract the tool and sensor. I chamfered the top of the socket and that made the job successful. Your time in putting these videos is greatly appreciated.

    • @markdawson4129
      @markdawson4129 3 года назад

      For the next DIYer - suggest that after you install sensor, take note of sensor clip 'nub' position - this will help you orient the sensor harness in the right direction to clip on.

    • @peteloomis8456
      @peteloomis8456 4 года назад +2

      It's your oil pickup tube Oring that's attached to the pickup tube in the oil pan ! It's rubber so it cracks & shrinks over time causing it to suck air which causes low oil pressure & oil foaming or a oil pressure gauge reading that's erratic . If the oil pressure sensor is going bad it will throw a PO521 code if the sensor is out of voltage spec either too high or too low as well . If your lifters tick on start up when cold or after it's been run then shut down for just a few hours then the lifters click & make noise on start up again it's because the oil that's supposed to stay in the pickup tube is running out of that cracked Oring losing prime or the anti drain back valve is bad in the oil filter or your lifters are either clogged because of not changing oil consistently or using a low grade non synthetic motor oil or they are just plain worn out if left not fixing this internal oil leak at that Oring for long enough . If it's bad enough the lifters will make noise all the time when the engine is hot after the oil gets hot & thins out . GM's engineers really screwed this one up using a Rubber Oring for a seal that's exposed to oil & heat all the time especially since most rubber doesn't like oil as it eats it up & breaks it down & granted I think the Oring that's used is a silicone rubber they still crack & deteriorate ! They should have used a copper style crush washer that crushes down when the tube is put back in & the bolt torqued down almost like what's used on the brake line to the calipers that can take heat & don't leak even under the hundreds of pounds of pressure that brake lines are subject to . These engines are common to have some minor lifter tick so as long as it's not really loud & all of them making noise at once it's normal for some noise .

    My 2010 Camaro SS has become more difficult simply because when GM put the original sensor in they installed it with the clip side facing the back of the intake manifold, which means I cant press the clip to release it. I might have to try somehow unscrewing the sensor a little to turn it so I can press the clip.
