Love customers like that. Every warning light is on, brakes are grinding, mismatched tires are unsafe and battery is bad. They bring it in because the power plug is out and they can't charge their cellphone!

First time viewer here! I just did this on a 2003 Chevy Tahoe.. what a pain.. Looked like my vehicle had way more stuff right back there where I needed to get to than several I have seen here on RUclips. That job literally took me 6 hours to do! 6 hours of laying on top of the engine trying to not only get my hand back in there, but replace the part! Used a little shop mirror and multiple lights... important thing is I got it done, but what a pain! I don't do this for a living, it was my wifes vehicle.. Im usually working on my 1994 Ford F150, so was a change of pace for me and a relatively bad experience. LOL!! I do have my own RUclips channel as well if anyone is interested, primarily about the restoration and other things on my F150 Pickup, but its not strictly a Ford only channel or anything, although that's mostly whats on there now. Hope you don't mind me plugging my channel here. At any rate, nice video and Im subscribing. I am very interested in that topside creeper that you have!! I have a 6 inch lift with 35" tires on my truck and something like that may come in very handy!! Im 6'2" tall or so, but still have trouble reaching stuff. Do you have any info on that creeper? Im going to google it and see what I can find as well. Keep up the good work! Going to be a horrible rotten hot and humid day here in Central Iowa, so may just stay kicked back in my recliner, nice and cool in the A/C and watch RUclips vids all afternoon. LOL

ya know it's one thing to be able to change the blinker fluid but this oil sensor on the ol' lady's '07 Tahoe had me broken to the point of driving it off a cliff. You convinced me right there at the end to keep on truckin. That's Awesome brother! Thanks for the Motivation i needed that!!
When I was younger I had a 1958 Chevy Bel-air with 348cu.inch Put an oil pressure gage in and started it up.... only hsd 20lbs of pressure. I found out that was standard for a 348 back then. Scared me to death.//// love your vids great work.
Wow! This repair is very similar to what I did on my 2003 Corvette. Same symptoms too. The oil pressure switch went to full scale which was 80 on the analog gage and 130 on the digital readout. One difference: my Vette did not set any codes. The oil pressure switch is right where you showed it - but one big difference. The back of the engine sits under the bottom of the windshield. It took me two hours to complete the job. The local repair shop wanted $250 plus parts. I said no thanks and did it myself.
I have a '96 Silverado 454/7400 gauge does the same thing- shows zero at idle, then jumps to 50-60 when revved, no engine noise, would have blown by now, been over a year, pretty much assumed it was the sender like you found here, will get around to it sometime- it's a bit of a beast to get to and don't have that cool ratchet you have. I like that creeper thing too- never knew they existed. I learned something. Thanks.
Im glad you said you don't need to be ASE certified I been building hot rods and more for years quick story my dad fixed an ASE Cadillac certified mechanic mess LOL they could never fix the problem anyways love your videos you're the best I've seen on the Internet by far
When I first got my '07 Mitsubishi Galant the guy I bought it from had some experience and told me oil sensors would go in these cars. About a year later I was driving up to Rochester and the oil light came on, so I put some oil in without checking the oil. Yeah, what can I say, when I got back and checked the oil it was overfilled. It took me a couple days and then I remembered being told about the light and ordered a new sensor. Yup, mine was in a weird spot behind the engine too, and think may have needed some special tool and since I had an inspection due I just had my mechanic replace the sensor. Well worth the $30 and I did siphon some oil out too. Thanks for sharing.

THE SCREEN THE SCREEN!!! thats what I've been waiting for someone to mention in a video about the oil sensor!! my mechanic (former) is trying to tell me its a $700 fix, he mentioned the oil sensor but then mentioned the filter, he said he had one to show me when i came to pick up my truck, which i have yet to do.

+byrysh Lol. I have seen some pretty smart ASE certified mechanics. I have also seen some that were totally clueless as to any of the physics behind what makes anything happen on a car or engine. My first boss was not ASE certified and he was a bloody genius with truck engines and knew his way around a welder like nobodies business. He was an expert in many things and could pass the day telling real life stories to emphasize his point. In fact he could do that so well the day could end without a danged thing getting done. lol John Nesbitt. A great boss and genius in many things. No joke when I say ASE mechanics routinely called him with tricky problems.
ASE is really about how well you could take a test. I used to be an ASE certifies Master Truck Technician. I was a pretty fair mechanic in the fleet world, but there were guys in other fields that were so much better than I was. They may or may not have been certified.
+South Main Auto Repair help what if my oil burns every time I go up a hill no matter how low or high it is to hills takes over 1/2 my oil and one more I check it and its bone dry I replaced all the filters and cover's no leeks but when on a hill it smells burnt on a Chevy suabern any info will help thankd
+Susan Gle i know the question is directed to eric. but from the sound of it you might want to check the pcv system. its a cheap part to replace Nd also easy to diagnose
@@jasoncrandall73 Not necessarily. It could be a bad oil pump or a clogged pickup. If that's the case, you will destroy the engine quite quickly by driving it.
I am an ASE certified Automotive Master Tech and I have watched you for quite a while and I'm certain you could pass the ASE tests, if you ever wanted to go that direction.
I figured you had one on this. I changed my sensor about 6 months ago on 2006 2500hd w/ 6.0 and now it is doing this again. I figure I might have landed a knockoff one last time as it was acdelco and all but too cheap on ebay. Time for oem from dealer I guess. Thanks Eric.
I don't know about the truck but my 08 Suburban has a sound shield by the firewall that really makes it a pain in the gut laying on the engine with cardboard. I can't believe you didn't pull the filter screen and clean or replace it. That valve solenoid screen gets plugged up and you have the same issue, no oil pressure to the sensor. Shut it off for a minute and the oil pressure is back until the screen plug's up again. I would certainly advise clean/replacing that filter screen down under the pressure sensor after the pain of getting the sensor out of the oil pressure Fuel On Demand lifter solenoid plate.
I feel for you brother. I’m facing the same thing on my ‘98 with the gen. VI, except the sensor is in so deep that it’s impossible to get a socket on it. I’m contemplating pulling the engine.
fixed three so far no oil pressure. It was the small screen under sender which also feeds lifter and cam bearings. Brake cleaner cured it . One shop said oil pump was bad...lol
@@mtsanchez27 remove oil pressure sending unit from top rear of engine there is a screen inside fitting under sender unit in pipe . Just clean it 2006 and up .

I just went through this and the thing I found most challenging was to get the connector off. after lots of research I found I had to remove the grey tab and push on the clip that was help back by the grey tab. little things can mean alot.
If you can do it I use to could do it but now I'm 72 with a real bad back so I can't do it anymore that's the reason we need good honest Mechanics like you and they are real hard to find in my part of the area where I live, thanks .
You know Eric your statement that "if I can do it, you can do it" is not completely correct. You have equipment and tools that some or most of us do not have, you have a shop to do it in and you have experience and knowledge we do not by in large. At least that is my point of view. I do not always remember how to do some of the things you do. My dad was a mechanic and I do not remember most of what I learned from him. He is not in my life any more as my parents got divorced and both remarried. He moved away so I am not around a mechanic much any more. You are partly correct with your closing statement. A lot of the things that you do as a mechanic a lot of us RUclipsrs can do if we wanted. I had not thought of testing a new part before you install it like you did. You are wiser than I am about auto repair.
The only reason I got ASE certified was my work paid for it. It got me my dealership job at Mazda, but that wasn't exactly heaven and a paycheck. So...... Small to medium sized independent shops are where it's at if you ask me- and they usually don't require it.
Same problem on 03 sliverado , used a big piece of foam rubber laid it on engine and used a mirror. i love these trucks ,if we use them we got to work on them!!!
On my Chevy I just cleaned the screen under the sensor and it worked. Put the old sensor back in. I did try putting an aftermarket sensor in but I couldnt get the electrical plug to plug into it. Very frustrating. I love that creeper by the way, i want one.
Too easy didn't even have to break out bihg nashty :p .... Great video. Didn't have to stick a camera down the back of the engine to show us but you did. I'm learning a lot from your videos so I really appreciate what you do.
Also if the digital display in like the Escalades mess up, but the vehicle is running fine. If you pull that oil pressure sensor out, there's a little filter down there that you can replace or clean out and that little filter underneath the sensor gets plugged up. I just didn't want on a 2007 Escalade
I had 5 out of the 6 ( this was 8 years ago,, maybe changed by now) it takes to be Master Certified. The ASE TEST are not very helpful at ALL when's it comes to 90% of common everyday mechanical issues, ( only my opinion!! ) A waste of money and time if you ask me. They should change the test material to accommodate the everyday vast majority of daily repairs. I only took them for my job as our pay increased with each certification. Don't let the ASE patch fool you. Most of the Best mechanics never get them.

I have no oil pressure in an 06 2500hd 6.0 225k miles,hearing a lifter ticking,does this rule out sensor and more likely an O ring or oil pump,hopefully not a spun cam bearing.

South main auto got a question would you possibly know why a 2002 Dodge Durango with a 5.9 liter V8 would have a no bus on the dash it runs when it wants to but when it warms up it shuts off fuel pump shuts off there's no spark not sure what it could be when it happens check engine light comes on and dash says no bus
Got a 2000 chevy Silverado 1500, 4.8 vortec. Was running at 20 lbs of oils pressure but would suddenly drop off to zero and the lifters would start banging away. Changed oil twice (it was nasty with some metallic particles on drain plug magnet). replaced oil pressure switch and now no oil pressure and lifters banging like crazy, o ya , dropped oil pan (nasty) some metallic crap in there, cleaned it real good, replaced oil tube pick-up o-ring. No oil pressure, any idea's.....Thanks Tom
I have a 2007 Avalanche LTZ , I just rebuilt the motor new rings , pistons , cam bearings , etc did the break in process . Now the oil pressure gauge has dropped to zero. Replaced oil pressure sensor , still on zero . What should I check next ?
Well guess what, it seem like it was the oil pump. I change out a lot of thing and this was a lot of work. I end up also changing the oil pan gasket, filter valve that located on the oil pan, timing chain cover since I took it off, also the oil pressure sensor and small filter. I used a proformance oil pump milling 365. Well everything is working great and oil pressure is back to 40. not to mention the oil pan was dirty and had some sludge. My truck had only 96,346 miles. I don't know why this happen, Well I'm happy to get her back on the streets. Thanks for help
My neighbors 2007 1500 5.3 lost oil pressure the other day. Truck dipstick showed down a quart. I topped off and started, gauge went to 40 at 1800 RPM . I can keep at 1800-2000 and it will stay at 40 ish for about 3 minutes then slowly drop to the warnings coming on then to zero.. To me this sounds like once oil get warm this sounds more like pump area problem more than a sensor. Any thoughts before I dive in?? Tom
I have a 5.7 liter Chevy express van. What should my oil pressure be , she has 210 k on her. I'm sure the sensor is out, or bad. Will it hurt to run it with out changing it.

Just curious, you mention you do not have your ASE qualification, did you go to school in automotive maintenance or did you learn on the job? Your definitely a very sharp mechanic and I am learning a lot from your videos keep up the good work.
I can relate with that. I started out graduating business school. Hated working in a office. Started flying, bought a airplane and went into business my self. Worked on my aircraft and flight schools aircraft in my 20's and now flying for foreign airlines. Alway enjoyed the aviation maintenance part of my life and was often surprised that people who did not have formal training were better mechanics than the people who went to aircraft maintenance schools. Learned a lot from the best, and tremendous respect for great mechanics, aviation or auto. Keep up the great work, learning a lot from your videos.
Sooo. Was it a partiality collapsed lifter or should I try this I’m having the same issue. Usually when unplug a sensor it should not change operations? If it’s bad correct?? I’m asking because I’m having the exact same issue with a tic. 5.3 liter Tahoe 2008 and I have no oil pressure but it’s I believe just dirty fluid. Ima run some liquid Molly through. 98% partially collapsed lifter?? Thoughts?? Also. ABS I fixed. Rusted out ground plates Underneath the frame. Undercarriage…
Changing out that sensor looks like a job that sucks! Reminds me of doing the crankshaft position sensor on my 2000 Dodge ram 1500, cannot see it barely and in the most difficult place to reach.
It's next to impossible to get to on the LTZ Suburban. It has an insulated sound proofing cover back there that blocks access. Had to remove the intake to fix mine twice. It's a 2007 with 320,000 miles on it.

Topside creeper - cool. The sensor went out because of the smashed right-side fender. Just replace both fenders and while you`re at it you should also replace the entire dashboard.
Amazed the guage actually reads true pressure. Most are numb idiot "somewhere-in-the-middle-should-be-good," so consumers don't get all excited if it should read low in the summer.
i changed sensor , oil pick up tube O ring,new oil and lucas oil stabilizer and still have low pressure .38 psi when driving and like 22 to 25 psi when stop. is it normal? 2011 tahoe ls 5.3
maybe you can help me i have a 1992 chevy 4.3l truck and the oil pressure gauge is going up and down randomly for no reason goes all the way down and idiot light come on and says check gauges i check my oil regularly and i know it is not low on oil. could you lead me in the right direction please on what to do to fix this problem.
I have tried every way I possibly can to get it out like you did. Hands are way too big to fit so I gotta pull the intake manifold everytime. What is the part number on that ratchet so I can order it from my dealer?
I just had that problem. Changed the sensor but couldn't get the filter out. Hard to tell if there was one in there. Used a pick tool but no luck. Any recommendations? Thanks
@@jarveysorensen5502 not saying I'm better because of it. I live in Miami where if you want to open a shop or be a shop forman and certain dealers one must be a master. Some places require two or more. And it means a bit more than squat something like $480 or more.
Thanks for sharing but I’m confused Same code, swapped in new sensor not the screen Scan tool reads good oil pressure and I can sweep all the gauges using functional test
That's a SCARY situation.... If my eyes and ears told me that the engine was ok, I'd drive it home. If I had any doubt, though, I'd spend the hundred bucks on a tow. I'd never risk a rebuild to save a tow bill.... Glad it worked out.
so what happens when the oil light comes on and the gauge goes crazy and it stings and flashes red for the oil but yet I still have plenty of oil in the engine I shut it off turned it back on it didn't come on and I made it all the way home after checking oil
All the warning light bulbs are working atleast it has that going for it. Remember when my oil warning light came on with my last car on the highway within the minute it took me to find a safe spot to stop the engine was a gonner. Served me well though with a total of 213,000 miles on the clock to be destroyed by a o-ring blocking the oil pick up.
Nice latter, are used to pillows on my 5.7 hemi to do the tuneup and the water pump only had a slight bruise on the rib cage. Looking at your reaction from where the sensor is located I had to laugh had same problem on the old Cummins engines . They might start thinking about putting in half dog houses in these trucks since Half the engine is in the cab anyway

Funny took me 10 min with the right tools and didnt have to remove anything
Going through this now. This video should help to avoid doing it the hard way. My shop wanted $475 for labor.

consaka1 I was ASE certified in 90's lol I was makin a joke. Ive seen some supersmart ones too as well as some that were realy... well not so much.
ASE is really about how well you could take a test. I used to be an ASE certifies Master Truck Technician. I was a pretty fair mechanic in the fleet world, but there were guys in other fields that were so much better than I was. They may or may not have been certified.

+Susan Gle i know the question is directed to eric. but from the sound of it you might want to check the pcv system. its a cheap part to replace Nd also easy to diagnose

@@jasoncrandall73 Not necessarily. It could be a bad oil pump or a clogged pickup. If that's the case, you will destroy the engine quite quickly by driving it.

I figured you had one on this. I changed my sensor about 6 months ago on 2006 2500hd w/ 6.0 and now it is doing this again. I figure I might have landed a knockoff one last time as it was acdelco and all but too cheap on ebay. Time for oem from dealer I guess. Thanks Eric.
I don't know about the truck but my 08 Suburban has a sound shield by the firewall that really makes it a pain in the gut laying on the engine with cardboard. I can't believe you didn't pull the filter screen and clean or replace it. That valve solenoid screen gets plugged up and you have the same issue, no oil pressure to the sensor. Shut it off for a minute and the oil pressure is back until the screen plug's up again. I would certainly advise clean/replacing that filter screen down under the pressure sensor after the pain of getting the sensor out of the oil pressure Fuel On Demand lifter solenoid plate.
I feel for you brother. I’m facing the same thing on my ‘98 with the gen. VI, except the sensor is in so deep that it’s impossible to get a socket on it. I’m contemplating pulling the engine.
fixed three so far no oil pressure. It was the small screen under sender which also feeds lifter and cam bearings. Brake cleaner cured it . One shop said oil pump was bad...lol

I just went through this and the thing I found most challenging was to get the connector off. after lots of research I found I had to remove the grey tab and push on the clip that was help back by the grey tab. little things can mean alot.
If you can do it I use to could do it but now I'm 72 with a real bad back so I can't do it anymore that's the reason we need good honest Mechanics like you and they are real hard to find in my part of the area where I live, thanks .
You know Eric your statement that "if I can do it, you can do it" is not completely correct. You have equipment and tools that some or most of us do not have, you have a shop to do it in and you have experience and knowledge we do not by in large. At least that is my point of view. I do not always remember how to do some of the things you do. My dad was a mechanic and I do not remember most of what I learned from him. He is not in my life any more as my parents got divorced and both remarried. He moved away so I am not around a mechanic much any more. You are partly correct with your closing statement. A lot of the things that you do as a mechanic a lot of us RUclipsrs can do if we wanted. I had not thought of testing a new part before you install it like you did. You are wiser than I am about auto repair.
Certificates only mean so much, experience is worth more and knowing what you are doing is even better!!!!
The only reason I got ASE certified was my work paid for it. It got me my dealership job at Mazda, but that wasn't exactly heaven and a paycheck. So...... Small to medium sized independent shops are where it's at if you ask me- and they usually don't require it.

Same problem on 03 sliverado , used a big piece of foam rubber laid it on engine and used a mirror. i love these trucks ,if we use them we got to work on them!!!
On my Chevy I just cleaned the screen under the sensor and it worked. Put the old sensor back in. I did try putting an aftermarket sensor in but I couldnt get the electrical plug to plug into it. Very frustrating. I love that creeper by the way, i want one.
Too easy didn't even have to break out bihg nashty :p .... Great video. Didn't have to stick a camera down the back of the engine to show us but you did. I'm learning a lot from your videos so I really appreciate what you do.
Also if the digital display in like the Escalades mess up, but the vehicle is running fine. If you pull that oil pressure sensor out, there's a little filter down there that you can replace or clean out and that little filter underneath the sensor gets plugged up. I just didn't want on a 2007 Escalade
Btw, GM has a service bulletin out now that says remove the screen and throw it away... thought you might like to know

Decades ago, I was the go to man for driveablity and other concerns on Chevy vehicles at the dealer. I was the Only NON ASE certified tech there.
I had 5 out of the 6 ( this was 8 years ago,, maybe changed by now) it takes to be Master Certified. The ASE TEST are not very helpful at ALL when's it comes to 90% of common everyday mechanical issues, ( only my opinion!! ) A waste of money and time if you ask me. They should change the test material to accommodate the everyday vast majority of daily repairs. I only took them for my job as our pay increased with each certification. Don't let the ASE patch fool you. Most of the Best mechanics never get them.

I have no oil pressure in an 06 2500hd 6.0 225k miles,hearing a lifter ticking,does this rule out sensor and more likely an O ring or oil pump,hopefully not a spun cam bearing.

South main auto got a question would you possibly know why a 2002 Dodge Durango with a 5.9 liter V8 would have a no bus on the dash it runs when it wants to but when it warms up it shuts off fuel pump shuts off there's no spark not sure what it could be when it happens check engine light comes on and dash says no bus
Got a 2000 chevy Silverado 1500, 4.8 vortec. Was running at 20 lbs of oils pressure but would suddenly drop off to zero and the lifters would start banging away. Changed oil twice (it was nasty with some metallic particles on drain plug magnet). replaced oil pressure switch and now no oil pressure and lifters banging like crazy, o ya , dropped oil pan (nasty) some metallic crap in there, cleaned it real good, replaced oil tube pick-up o-ring. No oil pressure, any idea's.....Thanks Tom

I have a 2007 Avalanche LTZ , I just rebuilt the motor new rings , pistons , cam bearings , etc did the break in process . Now the oil pressure gauge has dropped to zero. Replaced oil pressure sensor , still on zero . What should I check next ?
Well guess what, it seem like it was the oil pump. I change out a lot of thing and this was a lot of work. I end up also changing the oil pan gasket, filter valve that located on the oil pan, timing chain cover since I took it off, also the oil pressure sensor and small filter. I used a proformance oil pump milling 365.
Well everything is working great and oil pressure is back to 40. not to mention the oil pan was dirty and had some sludge. My truck had only 96,346 miles. I don't know why this happen, Well I'm happy to get her back on the streets. Thanks for help

My neighbors 2007 1500 5.3 lost oil pressure the other day.
Truck dipstick showed down a quart.
I topped off and started, gauge went to 40 at 1800 RPM . I can keep at 1800-2000 and it will stay at 40 ish for about 3 minutes then slowly drop to the warnings coming on then to zero..
To me this sounds like once oil get warm this sounds more like pump area problem more than a sensor.
Any thoughts before I dive in??

I have a 5.7 liter Chevy express van. What should my oil pressure be , she has 210 k on her. I'm sure the sensor is out, or bad. Will it hurt to run it with out changing it.

Just curious, you mention you do not have your ASE qualification, did you go to school in automotive maintenance or did you learn on the job? I can relate with that. I started out graduating business school. Hated working in a office. Started flying, bought a airplane and went into business my self. Worked on my aircraft and flight schools aircraft in my 20's and now flying for foreign airlines. Alway enjoyed the aviation maintenance part of my life and was often surprised that people who did not have formal training were better mechanics than the people who went to aircraft maintenance schools. Learned a lot from the best, and tremendous respect for great mechanics, aviation or auto. Keep up the great work, learning a lot from your videos.
Sooo. Was it a partiality collapsed lifter or should I try this I’m having the same issue. Usually when unplug a sensor it should not change operations? If it’s bad correct?? I’m asking because I’m having the exact same issue with a tic. 5.3 liter Tahoe 2008 and I have no oil pressure but it’s I believe just dirty fluid. Ima run some liquid Molly through. 98% partially collapsed lifter?? Thoughts?? Also. ABS I fixed. Rusted out ground plates Underneath the frame. Undercarriage…

Changing out that sensor looks like a job that sucks! Reminds me of doing the crankshaft position sensor on my 2000 Dodge ram 1500, cannot see it barely and in the most difficult place to reach.
It's next to impossible to get to on the LTZ Suburban. It has an insulated sound proofing cover back there that blocks access. Had to remove the intake to fix mine twice. It's a 2007 with 320,000 miles on it.

Topside creeper - cool. The sensor went out because of the smashed right-side fender. Just replace both fenders and while you`re at it you should also replace the entire dashboard.
Amazed the guage actually reads true pressure. Most are numb idiot "somewhere-in-the-middle-should-be-good," so consumers don't get all excited if it should read low in the summer.

i changed sensor , oil pick up tube O ring,new oil and lucas oil stabilizer and still have low pressure .38 psi when driving and like 22 to 25 psi when stop. is it normal? 2011 tahoe ls 5.3
maybe you can help me i have a 1992 chevy 4.3l truck and the oil pressure gauge is going up and down randomly for no reason goes all the way down and idiot light come on and says check gauges i check my oil regularly and i know it is not low on oil. could you lead me in the right direction please on what to do to fix this problem.

@@jarveysorensen5502 not saying I'm better because of it. I live in Miami where if you want to open a shop or be a shop forman and certain dealers one must be a master. Some places require two or more. And it means a bit more than squat something like $480 or more.

That's a SCARY situation.... If my eyes and ears told me that the engine was ok, I'd drive it home. If I had any doubt, though, I'd spend the hundred bucks on a tow. I'd never risk a rebuild to save a tow bill.... Glad it worked out.

Man....did one 2 weeks ago....tight quarters for sure....plenty of scrapes and bruises on that job!
so what happens when the oil light comes on and the gauge goes crazy and it stings and flashes red for the oil but yet I still have plenty of oil in the engine I shut it off turned it back on it didn't come on and I made it all the way home after checking oil

92 Chevy K 1500 5.7 oil needle goes all the way to the right. is that a bad oil sensor
All the warning light bulbs are working atleast it has that going for it.
Remember when my oil warning light came on with my last car on the highway within the minute it took me to find a safe spot to stop the engine was a gonner. Served me well though with a total of 213,000 miles on the clock to be destroyed by a o-ring blocking the oil pick up.

Nice latter, are used to pillows on my 5.7 hemi to do the tuneup and the water pump only had a slight bruise on the rib cage. Looking at your reaction from where the sensor is located I had to laugh had same problem on the old Cummins engines . They might start thinking about putting in half dog houses in these trucks since Half the engine is in the cab anyway

Had mine replaced also along with a leaking heater hose. Cheap plastic hose fitting on the heater core went bad
