No matter how many times I hear about how animals are slaughtered it brings me to tears every time. The way she explains it is so gruesome. How can you give a tour of something like that, and with pride? Our world is so cruel. 😔

I got to the point where she describes the slaughtering of the cow and it broke me, it really did. It’s still going around in my head and I just can’t shake it. That is exactly why I am vegan. What sort of monster can do that to a living being, no matter how desperate you are for a job. I will never understand it. And I will never forget that image as long as I live. If only I could sit my omni friends down and make them listen to that!

I cried when the woman told the story of the white cow. I believe that all that fear and anxiety that the animals feel get transferred into the meat. It comes out in people through all the violence that we inflict on one another and they get their revenge through the cancer, diabetes and heart disease it causes those that eat it.

I started going vegetarian when I had such arthritis in my hands and gave up dairy, about 8 years ago. Since then I've gone vegan temporarily from time to time but really got serious about it after my husband developed cancer and I had had my gallbladder surgery. I knew if I could show the good results in my own life, it could potentially help my husband to change, He did have surgery and it was cancer of the Prostate, but he still had elevated blood pressure. He decided to try it may way, I took him off sodas and sugar, processed foods, got him to eat fresh cooked beets everyday, and we just went to the doctor and his blood pressure down to 135/70. But the meds his doctor had him on was amlodipine. That drug has been fingered for causing Prostate Cancer, so I am disgruntled to say the least as he is still suffering from a degree of incontinence. But he's lost weight, he just has trouble giving up the taste though he loves animals.
I am more invested, I've done a reading and lots of listening to lectures on RUclips on the subject of being vegan vs. vegetarian. I am vegan, so no eggs or fish as well as no dairy or meat, poultry too.
I feel better. I just wish I had the gumption to go all the way to vegan which I did finally this last year.
I've lost a lot of weight but not quickly but then I am 65 and losing too much too fast, is rather a matter of loose skin, but more slowly gives the skin a chance to retract.
We visited the farm animal sanctuary. I had just recently bought "Fork Over Knives" the movie and the book. I am hoping that our kids by seeing the dramatic changes in my life will notice as I really am not big on self-control with eating. What I really follow most is the Dr. McDougall approach to quenching appetite with starch. That works for me and keeps me satisfied. Before eating the SAD diet (Standard American Diet), that feeling of satiety did not arrive on time, because when you eat meat and starch, the starch sits there and does not get into the body so long as the meat is not digested. Meanwhile you have now eaten too much. This makes sense and it is my experience.
We can be starving while we are making ourselves fat: starving for the right kind of calories and nutrients which are best absorbed from plants and not vitamin pills or supplements. We were designed to eat plants.
You get better results when you go with the owner's manual: God's owner's manual, like Genesis chapter 1.

Good work. Yes, plant based here. I don't need to belong to the group that calls themselves "vegan." I want to be healthy, and not hurt the planet or it's animals. I pass the message along by letting others know how I eat, so I have something to eat, if I'm going to visit. If they want to fix me something, fine, or if not, I can bring my own. If they don't want me to visit... Well, it's how a support system grows and changes. Then, if someone asks questions, I try to answer that question, as well as possible, and not go into more than asked. It makes people stay interested, but not feeling preached to. Your videos are wonderful. You're doing a great service. Thanks for posting.

This is amazing! When my son started asking me about the food we ate at age 5
he started to refuse his meals and push his plate away and refuse to eat any animals. I though for that moment “what is wrong with my child” but then I decided to support him. He went vegetarian first but the more my son and I did research we then went vegan. I have Daughter as well and I decided not to push it to my daughter. I wanted her to make her choice on her own and sure enough she also went vegan. Sure I got so many bad comments from my family especially since we are Hispanic and I was raised eating meat. I was looked as a mom who was neglecting her children. Though it hurt me I was more concentrated on supporting my children. Now I love this life style and I have two wonderful kids thriving in a vegan lifestyle.

They should show this video in high schools and colleges today, like the Auschwitz holocaust video I had to watch in high school in the 70's. Most of it was easy to watch but I cant imagine anyone being able to eat animal products after listening to the vivid slaughterhouse description by the young female photographer. It was unbelievably heart wrenching. Made me sick. From the dismembering slaughter of the living cow to the description of how it clearly effected the rest of the herd in waiting, it utterly broke me. She made Dominion, Earthling and Lucent look like nothing and I still have nightmare from them. There was no visual, but her words were enough to make me cover my eyes as the tears flowed like Niagara falls. She almost seemed a little oddly detached. Don't know how she could describe such a traumatizing event without shedding a tear. But, people can react to trauma in many different ways. She clearly had empathy for the white cow. She sounded like she was confused as to how the white cow was so afraid, and seemed surprised that she was able to give it some comfort by petting it. Even though the other cows in the waiting area may have been out of view of the actual slaughter, cows have a heightened sense of smell, and perhaps they could have heard the audible sounds as the cow was being slaughtered as well. As she described, these animals clearly are terrified and traumatized and it doesn't take rocket science to tell that these sentient beings do not want to die, or observe their own kind being slaughtered. They are as intelligent as us. This has to stop.

It's all pretty evident, as well as in several other documentaries; in healthy diet books. Why are we unable to renew attitudes?
There are serious and difficult situations that occur in our environment: Bullying is one of them and quite complicated, family members move away and this causes concern and sadness. Even in the marital relationship, convincing and following up is almost impossible. Withdrawal from animal protein is very painful and that complicates everything. I did everything to convince them to change, but I gave up. The family members freak out, they lack the will even if they present all the positive and favorable arguments. "THING IS SERIOUS . . ."
