Thank you so much. Wife caused a leak by hitting this unit with her head! I just took it all apart as you showed, and cleaned everything - and greased with Vaseline. I’ve ordered a replacement o ring kit and silicone grease for spares, just in case. Thank you again 👍🏻
Very helpful video. I accepted the challenge and have found a very easy way to remove the speedfit bite-ring in order to inspect/replace the o-ring. Simply apply outward pressure to the collar and gently probe at the outside top of the grip ‘fingers’. After loosening the second one the whole thing pops out cleanly and you can get to the o-ring and its plastic protection ring.
thanks Mark, I had already cleaned mine, but there were plenty of points that I should have done, thought I would do again in 6months. Donation made. Thanks again
Thank you Mark - that was very helpful! We had a slight loss of pressure occurring regularly from our home heating system (Combi boiler) and traced it to the lid seal on the MagnaClean, which it seems wasn't screwed down properly. After sourcing a seal kit from Adey (who kindly supplied it free of charge, as the unit was still under warranty), your video enabled a DIY'er like me to service the MagnaClean and with fresh seals in place and lubed with silicone grease, the leak now appears to have stopped. Thanks for saving me a call-out charge, for what was in the end, a simple fix!
You mentioned that you can't purchase new O Rings for the pushfit connections, however you can purchase the pushfit connectors themselves with the O Rings inside, so you wouldn't have to change the whole canister.
Thanks for that video Mark. I used your example to clean my Greenstar System Filter (old model with bleed at bottom) which had been leaking. When I removed the bottom section I discovered the reason for the leak - no O ring at all!! Have cleaned it and put it together again - still a small leak - now trying to find a source of an O ring to fit as not sure of original size.
Brilliant little video, Mark. Thank you. We have had exactly this Pro 2 model fitted recently by our boiler service man and it was a mystery to me how it works and how it's fitted. I don't like things in the house which I don't understand!
The JG 22mm O-rings go into the back of this filter nicely. I've disassembled and fit new ones in on more than one occasion. Just lubricate them with the tiniest smidgen of silicone grease (I mean miniscule). Otherwise they whole filter might well end up popping off. 😮😂
Great video.. the valves are on the right hand side… can this be fitted the opposite way round with the valves on the left hand side.. or is it restricted to RHS only due to flow or is it multi purpose by turning the manifold 180 degrees.. thanks
A flexible loop with the same size speedfit connections would be useful to bridge the two pipes whilst servicing, if there is a small leak. You could even make one up with a bleed line to relieve any built up pressure. It could also be left in place if the cannister is faulty until you get a new one.
Thank you for the video. How often should one clean it? Mine was installed last year probably around now. The system was flushed by the HE who installed it at the time
Great videos. Thanks. I have the older pro 2 that’s developed a top o ring leak. Wondering if I should just buy the newer 2021 model and put that onto the existing fitment for ease of change, do the newer model canister fit the previous pro 2 coupling ?
thanks for the video my MagnaClean Professional 2 trigger will not release the pot as i was going to replace the trigger due to the red knob not stop spining to lock it
Hi Mark. I wonder if installing two magnaclean filters will be better? The way my pipes run from the boiler doesn't allow me to put in a filter as there is no room but I can put a filter on a pipe that's going upstairs and one that is going downstairs but will it be beneficial at all to have two filters or just one filter be enough put on any of the pipes will be OK. Thanks
Have one of these in micro 2. Fitted 3 years...when you close values to water...water still keeps coming through filter so you can't put in inhibitor...now have to replace...
Common issue with Magnaclean is that the canister won't detach from the valves. If you can’t access the lid and bottom plug of canister to clean (due to being installed in limited access areas) or if one of 2 valves need replaced, you have to change the canister and both valves. The cost of replacement valves and canister exceed the cost of a completely new unit. In other words, if you can’t get into the canister in situ to clean or either of the 2 valves need replaced, you need to replace the whole unit!!!!!! Adey will not provide parts free of charge under their 10-year guarantee unless you have registered within 30 days!! Far cheaper just buying a Magblu Radmag which literally takes 2 minutes to install. So easy even the user can install it.

Any chance of making a video to show the process pal ?.
Same question :)

Just had a new BAXI boiler fitted with a MagnaClean micro 2. Good to learn more about it - thanks.
Gratefull for your coverage of this subject.
Thanks for your help again, this time with the MagnaClean video!
I've sent a small donation, all the best!
Your video’s are awesome. I watch thousands of DIY videos, yours are the most subject informative and so clear.

Very helpful thanks. Will try today on my boiler
Thank you! Clear enough for even me to understand and follow!

Thank you, I wish I had known about this device years ago.
Brilliant video thanks Mark 👍
Thanks very much for the video, it’s a great help & much better than the official one. 🍻
Great informative video 👍
Proper and thorough thank you

Mine i think go problem with valves as its not stopping the water
thanks for the video my MagnaClean Professional 2 trigger will not release the pot as i was going to replace the trigger due to the red knob not stop spining to lock it
I had to get some leverage with a screwdriver to get it off... Mine didn't release as easy as they make out either.

Thanks for the video Mark! The official one from Adey is downright misleading.
O ring ❤
What about inhibitor liquid ?
What to do if quick release trigger not working?

What is the difference between this and a MagnaClean Micro 2?

I never drain or break the bleed, no point.
Water hot, wear a pair of gloves
