The reason why Blackmore's solo isn't covered in the video is that it is a scam video - it is not from Made in Japan, this is footage of Copenhagen, with the Made in Japan version played on top. It is a fake video. Blackmore fluffed the solo in Copenhagen, or at least doesn't play the amazing version that appears on MIJ, so the person who uploaded the video - who knew he was making a fake video - edited the Copenhagen footage to sync with the MIJ soundtrack. Where the video doesn't match the sound, stock footage fromelsewhere in the video is used. That's why the solos aren't shown - because then you'd see that the playing on the video is not the playing on the soundtrack. It's doubly ironic that you think that this fake video is the greatest song performance ever captured... Can't people spot lipsyncing or fake videos these days, even when it's painfuly obvious?

Yes, absolutely, without doubt, Ritchie Blackmore's Made in Japan "Highway Star" solo is the quintessential, greatest performance of all time. It's great hearing Ritchie playing without restraint. I've heard many very famous guitarists attempt to play this, and all they're doing is wanking.
You are so right. I saw a program on TV about Richie Blackmore and his career with interwiews of many of the worlds best guitar players. They all lifted Richie Blackmore up where he belongs as one of or maybe the best rock guitarist ever. Guys like Satriani, Vai, May and others definitely know what they are talking about. I saw Deep Purple live in Helsinki in the early 1970:s and they performed Highway Star and other tracks from Machine Head that had just been released. It was an incredible experience because there was just the band and their equipment now mammoth stage and extra flashing lights. I had a seat on front row and was only a few meters away from the band. Over 40 years later I still love their music and much of the solo projects as well as Richies newer music with Blackmores Night.
Well..its a good heavy metal song, but..the best?? Naaa.. Lets jus say one of the beast EARLIEST metal songs..lets not get carried away w childhood memories .
OK. The man disclosed that the audio is not from the video. What else do you people want?! Personally, I think did an outstanding job of syncing the two and brought the essence and energy of a Deep Purple concert to an audience that otherwise would never get to see and hear it together. I was fortunate enough to see them back in 197? at the Long Beach Arena. An experience I will never forget. Arguably the best live supergroup at the time.
Thanks for the nice comment. The "essence and energy of a DP concert" part was exactly the reason why I made this video. '69-'73 DP has always been my fave live band. This particular track is the best live recording I've ever heard but it wasn't filmed. I got the idea from the official "Never Before" video where they used some concert footage to make it.
A lot of folk don't give credit to the producer of Made In Japan, Martin Birch. He not only captured the band at their finest, but the genre at it's finest. Easily the best live album of the 70s
Probable one of the most underrated group of musicians that was. Each one of them were so good you thought they were playing along with a recording. Ian Paice is unbelievable. The best left handed drummer there is. Smoke on the Water beats were brilliant.

one of the most beautiful rock history guitar solos.. for me the best of all times .. that guitar solo is great !!! PERFECT !!!!! AMANZING!!!!!! beautiful..... beautiful......... beautiful...... beautiful....!!!
Yes, absolutely, without doubt, Ritchie Blackmore's Made in Japan "Highway Star" solo is the quintessential, greatest performance of all time. It's great hearing Ritchie playing without restraint. I've heard many very famous guitarists attempt to play this, and all they're doing is wanking.
it IS awesome!!!
Over 40 years later I still love their music and much of the solo projects as well as Richies newer music with Blackmores Night.
lucky guy
and then you add Jon Lord they were so well paired
Made in Japan is the Sistine Chapel of Rock! The best live album forever!!!!
Live at Leeds of The Who it comes second
Im 43,my father show me this great live álbum i was 2 years old. Thanks to my hero i have nice taste in Music. ❤
There are no words to describe how great this music is
Deep Purple = Legend....
Highway Star = Rock'n'roll anthem.....
Timeless,Dangerous...my favorite era of DP...great recording,great upload,Superb performance!
It's been 52 years and still ROCKS!
This is propably one of the best heavy metal songs i ever have heard!
Hard Rock*
Well..its a good heavy metal song, but..the best?? Naaa.. Lets jus say one of the beast EARLIEST metal songs..lets not get carried away w childhood memories .
*best
Is not a metal song , but probably without this song there wasn't metal song 😉👍👍
Blackmore used very little distortion. But if you play it now with some overdrive it is supreme heavy metal!
This is the true Heaven. Nobody beats the original Deep Purple Band! Legendary!
LOL
Confermo 😂😂😂😂
Un concierto mítico. Irrepetible. Grandes, muy grandes Deep Purple
Jon Lord, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Blackmore and Gillan: one of the best ensemble of musicians that has ever been.
Hahn Soloe Agreed. An outstanding job
NormanZavlandid1066 nice one man

Audio is from August '72 in Osaka, Japan. Video is from March '72 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This never gets old,it left an undullable mark on my soul. This is who I am!!
A lot of folk don't give credit to the producer of Made In Japan, Martin Birch. He not only captured the band at their finest, but the genre at it's finest. Easily the best live album of the 70s
This is my favourite Deep Purple recording. Soooo much better than the studio version. Brilliant performances by all band members.
Amen.
Probable one of the most underrated group of musicians that was. Each one of them were so good you thought they were playing along with a recording. Ian Paice is unbelievable. The best left handed drummer there is. Smoke on the Water beats were brilliant.
The best drummer there is
Simply Excellent 🌟 one of my Favourite Deep Purple Songs 🎵 💜 👌 💕 ❤️ 🌟
True masterpiece of sound and performance. Like all great things, you think it would last forever. Sometimes you wish you had the power to make it so. Thank God Someone recorded it.
Machine head is the BEST album ever!!

Bravo, Bravissimo, BISS !!!
Phenomenal performance...Made IN Japan one of the best life albums ever.
I can't understand those people who dislike this song , that means that that they had listened to the wrong music or band....
This song, this band,...that is just incredible...classic..
Sorry for the new generation...only can dream for this time...
Hristo Ivanov i’m from the new generation. But i like it! Its classic song, classic band... forever!
Or they were dropped on their heads as babies...………..repeatedly
@@Buzzramjet Yup!
Don’t need to understand people who listen to Air Supply....
@@davidwilliams1856 Just depends on if you've recently had your heart ripped right the fuck out of your chest by your lover. First Air Supply then Deep Purple.
Banda sensacional, integrantes fantásticos, vocalista, baixo, guitarra marabilhosa de Bleckmore👏👏♥️🇧🇷
Y teclados impresionantes de LORD.
50 years before I've heard this for the first time and my mind changed ❤ still in love with Made in Japan . And still astonished about this incredible fire 🔥 energy in it.
Five of the greatest musicians ever to grace a stage.
What an absolute awesome performance!! I would of loved being there but wasn’t born yet. The whole band was perfect virtuosos! Ian one of the greatest vocalist ever. He went on to hold his own with Pavorati. That right there takes guts.
The musicianship here is second to none! Now that is what you call Old School Heavy Metal 🤘🏻
Yeah 👍👍👍
I think the editor did a great job perfectly synchronizing the music track from Osaka and the video from Copenhagen.
Yeah was thinking the same
