- A few days ago we posted a shot of actor Matt Adler @mattadler_, who played Rick Kane in North Shore, with his new custom 6'8" #ciMid. See it here: / cirvp24n0d7
We offered two holiday gift packs for the two favorite quotes picked by Matt and John Philbin @johnphilbin_ who played Turtle.

When I need to get my mind off of fighting terminal cancer I always put on this movie and chill...and I always end it by playing Journey's song "Happy to Give" ..thats played during the ending scene and credits....my favorite surf movie of all time...shoot one of my favorite movies of all time period!!! What's too funny is my cousin and I were visiting my family in Tempe, AZ at the time we first saw this in theaters August of 1987...and the night we went we had just dried off from surfing at Big Surf!!! The wave pool in the Phoenix area!! 😆 🤣..it was such a Therapeutic time for me just having lost my Father in Nov 1986 to a massive heart attack at only 39 yrs old...as a 14 yr old kid the summer heat of AZ my best friend/Cousin and this movie really let my mind go and begin to heal...the theater even let us take our brand new skateboards we had just bought from our own hard earned savings into the theater with us...that skate home we did nothing but quote this movie...35 yrs later..and I still am!!!

Matt Adler is awesome. North shore and white water summer, dream a little dream are all classics
White Water Summer is so underrated. Like North Shore, whole cast was perfect.
If more people followed the Wisdom of Turtle the World would be a mo betta place!
North Shore did what Top Gun did for the youth, made all of us want to be surfers and Fighter pilots!!!
So true but I wanted to be a fighter pilot before TG. After watching North Shore I watched Endless Summer and definitely wanted to surf. Living in a landlocked state I had to settle for skateboarding.

I never tire watching this movie. God where is the time machine so I can go back and learn how to surf the BIG WAVES of HAWAII!!! Maybe I'll run into Rocky and The Hui.

Tartaruga. That’s how we call it in Brazil. North shore is my top 10 movie of all times. I watched it growing up in Brazil.
Freaking best film of my youth ever, we watched this day in and day out. After surfing, before surfing. Inspired us for a good session in our from days. This movie has stayed with me throughout my life and the one dvd I will never ever ever part with is North Shore. Love you Turtle 🐢. yeah....no! Shaka bradda 🤙
The lines I still say to this day are mostly lines from Turtle, like “Chaka bra,” “She gonna go lolo all ower you,” and “That’s how come ya face all broke up.” Total cult classic, man!

Where we grew up surfing in the late 80s/early 90s there were no surf shops & surfing was unknown. The only thing we had related to surfing was North Shore on VHS. So we grew up on this as groms, all of us know every line & to this day are still quoting stuff on a daily basis!

John Philbin seems like such a genuine & humble guy. He was definitely my favorite character in the movie & he was a bad ass in point break 🤙🏽
I’ve met John before a lot at horror movie conventions but I’d love to see Matt Adler and his wife come to Hollywood show or retro con because I’m a fan of both of their movies .

My mom dropped me off at the theatre to see it.
I watched this movie over and over again with my best friend in middle school, Mindy. The first time I watched it was at Mindy's house. When I saw the big surf board, I said, "That looks like a canoe." Her dad looked over at me and asked me if I had seen this movie before 😂. I hadn't! Yet!
We would always say the line, "Go get it Roger!" We just thought the little girls voice was so funny 🤦♀️. Middle school, what can I say? 😂

So cool! Great 80s flick! Was a teenager when it came out and still have some buddies from them and...we STILL quote the movie! We are in Phoenix so..we know Big Surf...I actually learned to surf there too. Heartbroken Big Surf is gone!!! Just saw on Google maps...the entire lot is just a dirt field now. 😭😭😭😭
Anyway....Actually...just used it at work today...which is why I found this lol...but...told two younger IT guys not to do something cause it wa gonna break a customer site.
