I’m 22 y/o from Mexico and I really thank my parents for showing me Rod’s music since I was 7 y/o. My parents were always worried about showing my siblings and I what the good music really feels like and how it fills the soul. My mom particularly is a huge Rod Stewart and Phil Collins fan. She had a stroke 3 years ago and fortunately she is still alive and having her best life. Life truly gave her a second chance. Now that I’m a grown man, learned 4 different languages, still studying b.s Accounting & finance and working full time for one of the most prestigious companies in Washington DC, what I’ll do with my first paycheck and bonus will be taking my parents to Las Vegas to see Sir Rod Stewart perform on live stage and thank them and life for everything they’ve done for me. If not for my parents I wouldn’t a) discover Rod Stewart’s great music and b) have the chance to attend to the best schools, get a good education and have a job that allows me to take my parents to watch Sir Rod the day of my birthday with me!! Life’s a gift, live it intensely until the last day, just like this 77yo rockstar :)

Me
I love this song, and I have been listening for many years. I am 75 years old.
New York , i love so much , ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Such a soul touching beginning this classic has, just know the memories are going to tease you with periods of your youth. Great old tunes.
I so want to be back in my youth again listening to Rod when he was younger he was amazing then and he is now
Hard to pick a best Rod Stewart song but if I had to this is it.
But it's not his song.
Nothing more powerful and thought provoking than a beautiful song, it can literally teleport you back in time in an Instant, which it just did too me. 😪.
Yet another jewell in the crown for Rod Stewart his list of hits is endless and so is his voice
RELENTLESS
I love this song! The bridge is my favorite part, hearing all of those instruments going nuts and his raspy voice. Love it! 😍

CLASSIC MUSIC,
I love this song! ❤
Still loving this in 2024. Rod Stewart is a legend. Love his voice
From back in the good ol' days when America and the world appeared to be sane for a moment, but wasn't ever actually stable and genius.
wow
❤️👍
I love this song, Dowmtown Train.
Man this takes me back. Wow
I always thought this was Rod Stewart’s greatest vocal performance. Absolutely fantastic and thank you Tom Waits for writing such an amazing song
He has love in him❤❤❤🎉😅
I live in the Bronx and always play this on Friday nights when I head downtown into Manhattan.
Love listening to the song while on the Express!
Thing is folks in Brooklyn take the R train north towards downtown Brooklyn, which is on the south/southeast side of Manhattan.
But instead of a cute blonde you sing this to the homeless hoard who have commandeered the NYC subway system
its sound very nice for doing so
That's cool!!
One of the best cover versions ever just brilliant his voice is made for this for those who don't know Tom Waits
For me, the Best Song of this Music Legend!!!
Its not his song
@@dawsonclark1725 he made it his much like Cash made Hurt his.
Best thing Rod Steward ever did, IMHO. Tom Waites being from Pamona California amazes me and how he really captured what every north east guy experienced when they first entered the workforce. That devastating woman he saw every day and fell in love with on the downtown train to work.
Unbeatable unmatched for me
Pure genius
12/29/2023... Still listening.
Thanks for posting and sharing this video for today’s generation and for all those who used to love your songs...
This song was written by Tom Waits. For me the best Songwriter of all time. And a exzellent Cover from Rod Steward.
