Can you explain the back feeding terminology? your missing a phase, yet to ground they are all the same 118v to ground….so in order for you to go to ground still and miss a phase, basically on of those legs is powering a load i guess that feeds back to the other leg ? Im so confused
That’s exactly what is going on , the other legs on line side are feeding through loads giving the 118 v reading. Had I disconnected the line wires from the contactor the missing leg would show to ground. Checking across fuses confirmed .
Good catch, ckt 1 had a minor hose leak on high side. By the time I caught I wasn’t sure how long it had been loose. Added some vapor but Superheat was within a degree of ckt 2 so I don’t much was lost.
Can’t believe you didn’t check those filter dryers. I bet they are getting clogged up from someone using some mo99 or 438a. Just from looking at those pressure and since someone had cut the high pressure safeties off. Those contractors looked bad too.
The Fixed metering manifold was clogging, A/C Renew added and ended up correcting the restrictions . Condensing coil is also fouled, and that design has a tendency to recirculate condenser discharge air into condenser. It’s shoved in the corner of a building. HP switches also replaced…. Only R22 used… thanks for watching!
I worked on Trane equipment for 24yrs in Trinidad and Tobago with our local dealer comfort engineering ltd.. learnt alot whilst there
Good stuff, Thanks for watching!
condenser motor sounds rough, thanks for sharing, nice fix.
Thanks, that unit has seen better days for sure.
Nice Work and Good Job. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Good work
Thanks for checking it out 👍
Learned something thanks
Thanks for watching, always learning myself
Good video
Thanks for Watching!!

Did you end up having to add some refrigerant? I saw the R-22 jug hooked up to your gauges at the end of the video.

That coil should’ve been split and chemically cleaned
Scheduled at later date, had to move on. Thanks for watching!
that poor trane seems to been neglected
Unfortunately it only gets attention when it stops cooling.
Why is the condenser coil red
Good question, It was treated with a corrosion resistant coating when it was new.
