Good catch. Too many techs change motors, compressors, etc but they don't confirm proper ops. I recommend checking the IOM flow charts. The center of the flow curve is Trane's design data.

Do you have any Peete's plugs? Wonder what the ft of head is on that pump. Do you have access to the start up data on the HD.....Trane isn't big on sharing that information. We tend to write it on the inside of the door on every chiller qe start up....makes it easier for anyone else to know design data. You got it done.....its running....on to the next adventure. Great video as always

No plugs just 1/4 shut off valves, Pump Head is 40ft 700 GPM , PD is matching start up of 2 psi although design is 4.8. Both chillers operating same now.,Thanks Jason👊

Pump bearings being tight can cause higher amps, Loose connections in the starter panel are also things to look for

Yeah, pump is only a couple years old… it was the balancing valve

The diameter of the pump impeller is important too, if it is to big the motor gets so much load. thats why the impeller gets turned down in a lathe tho the calculated diameter.

      Yeah, usually oversized… 👍

If it was drawing 18.5 amps why did overload stop the motor?

Never saw amp draw on the failed motor just blown 20amp fuses… can only assume same. Overload wasn’t tripped
