The "main" Krauser fight absolutely had a HUGE glow-up in this game. Not quite as big as the Salazar fight, true, but this Krauser fight was so much for fun and felt significantly more meaningful than the original did
Fun fact about Saddler's final form: You don't have to shoot him at all. The fight works on a timer that does get shorter if you shoot him, but Ada will eventually throw you the special rocket launcher anyways if you wait long enough. You also seem to have missed that there is an entire battle arena for the fight with Saddler, not just the small bridge. I'm a bit shocked at how many people think they only have that small bridge available. Considering how underwhelmed you sounded, I'm surprised Saddler wasn't lower on the list. Personally I think it's a great fight and a worthy finale to a fantastic game, definitely much more of a challenge than the infamously easy original version, but to each their own. Also you accidentally called Saddler Salazar at the end there.
It’s cool how you can stunlock him with the knife, particularly with the 1.5 speed exclusive. Whereas in the original it was best to save hand grenades to do much the same after the use of the stage equipment; made the fight easy peesy.
Having recently played through the game with the Nightmare mod toggled on, fighting Saddler on just that small bridge meant suicide. It was super fun figuring out how to make use of the entirety of the stage and the different levels and the extra Novis really kept me on my toe. On lower difficulties I can see why people find Saddler underwhelming but goddamn can he be a tough nut to crack on the highest difficulty levels when you don't opt for the inevitable Rocket Launcher strat
I mean, barely. Verdugo and the first regenerator fight was quite tense, but overall it's still a very arcady game, which I also love, nothing wrong with it.
On the contrary, they actually upped the action. Horror comes from atmosphere, which is scattered throughout the game. But terror comes from desperation, and that's the secret formula of RE4Remake's combat. Almost every combat encounter is filled with terror as you watch your resources dwindle, and yet enemies keep pouring in.
@@noxthestar8300 How does Left 4 Dead put emphasis on horror? There are different kinds of horror, y'know. It might surprise you, but survival horror isn't the only type of horror genre out there.
Regardless of what you and I may prefer differently, I can attest that the music during them is so damn good. I listen to Saddler's new theme, Origin of Tragedy, while fighting final bosses in similar games.
Oh Demod...it always brightens my day whenever I see you pop up on my feed. Your unique, alliterative writing style and enthusiastic, buoyant delivery never fail to bring a smile to my face. Thanks for being such a relentlessly positive force and inspiration for those of us toiling away in the sub-1k sub count mines. Watching your stuff helps me keep the faith.
Heres some advice for anyone interested: Try and fight the Mutated Krauser (Phase 3 krauser) using only the knife Its such a high energy battle, parrying his attacks, waiting for openings, stepping back and dodging his shield attacks I play "It has to be this way" during it everytime and its such fun!
Man, I love the DeMod Resident Evil Videos! The Del Lago fight pisses me off, especially if you’re trying to one cycle in a speedrun (hit ~15 harpoons before Del Lago dives first). Its possible, but takes a lot of practice and saves you a few minutes in any given run. I love what they did with Mendez in the remake as well, great atmosphere for sure. Also, Salazar’s boss fight is the biggest glow up in the Remake series by far. They’ve done such a great job with taking a terrible flesh wall fight and completely changing it, making it stressful as all hell. Great remake fight!!
Question, DeMod. You said that the boss fight against Saddler takes place on a small bridge, and in the footage, that seems to be the only place where you fought him. Am I mistaking, or did you not figure out that you can leave the bridge and take the fight to the much larger arena below?
You don't fight Saddler on a small bridge, you're supposed to use the rest of the area as well. Also the rocket launcher didn't get cut off, that part always happens in the game.
I love how Vertugo, Salazar, and Krauser(Final) got their glowups. The resilient speed and first encounter with the insectual Predator/Xenomorph mf, to the disgusting plant form of the dwarven brat(no thanks, bro) and last showdown with your long-time rival reminiscent of DMC1 with Dante and Nelo Angelo(if you know about RE4's history, then you're aware that Devil May Cry, Onimusha, and Haunting Ground spun off into their separate IPs as they were originally prototypes for the game early in development). I still await what remakes of Code Veronica, RE5, RE6, and RE0 would do when revamping their bosses, that includes the first three Devil May Cry games and Dino Crisis when they finally get the same capabilities of the Rezzie remake formula akin to the earlier mentioned.
Are you gonna check out FF 16 when it comes out? The combat looks SICK since it was handled by the DMC guys. Also, great ranking! Lovin' the more consistent uploads👍
As a speedrunner Del Lago becomes even more annoying I can never get the 1 cycle xD. I actually really enjoy the mendez fight in the speedrun theres a variety of pretty reliable strats

The best boss fight in re was definitely krauser, absolutely the best, not only is Krauser is a badass and has some tragic history with leon, it's one of the only bosses who actually feel like an honorable good duel and not your typical gooey monster boss battle, knife to knife, gun to gun, human to human, both badass equals, master and apprentice fighting in an all deathmatch, it just gives you such a good feel and the bosses and the dialagues and story are really good. I loved Krauser. And in his final moments, his death, the only time where he called leon by his name rather than rookie, the moment he got defeated, got proud, it gives my the same vibes as sekiro where you fight owl and he says "defeated, by my own son? My least favorite Boss fight? The Saddler boss fight for one reason alone.....NOVISTADORS! They absolutely ruined the boss fight for me, they are such a big distraction and I know we get the excuse of "theyre 1 hit, they barely attack and they drop resources" but by then I have all the resources needed and dont need anymore. I dont want me attention having to be split on the boss, the environment and these annoying bugs flying all around me. The boss fight is actually tense and fun but the fact they added these guys makes it an annoying experience everytime, to the point I just start buying the rocket launcher and ending the boss fight outright My favorite Boss fight? Id have to say its the second krauser fight, its fun, challenging and when you fight his mutant form its so epic and cool.
I disagree with most of the list haha... except you nailed the #1 best and worst. My list I think, off the cuff... 1. Krauser 2 (especially if you're counting all the lead-up to it -- granted I usually just use an RPG lol) 2. Verdugo (skippable? sure, but that takes longer than fighting him... cool game design) 3. Krauser 1 (lol I love that knife fight... also you can't use an RPG here, not that it would make sense to, and that's kinda cool 4. Double El Gigante (I really love this fight, especially because there's a wider variety of strategies than given credit for) 5. Saddler (discounting RPG, I actually like the design of the fight and the arena, and the Novistador minions are a nice touch) 6. Salazar (some of his moves feel a little cheap to me but agree with the sentiments, and the golden egg is soooooo great) 7. Mendez (I find it a little dull after repeat playthroughs, but that first playthrough was dope) 8. El Gigante (too iconic to count lower) 9. Garrador (oh he counts? okay then... you can actually skip him with a single flash bang, although the variety in actually fighting him is really cool) 10. Bella Sisters (good arena for this one) 11. Golden Knight (the hardest and most interesting of the request bosses imo) 12. Armored El Gigante (I just don't think of him as a boss... but included since he's in the video) 13. Savage Mutt (eh, kinda a lousy fight honestly, more annoying than anything) 14. Ironest Maiden (the problem is that it's ridiculously easy to cheese the fight by luring him to the exit... and without any incentive not to, it's just too tempting...) 15. Del Lago (the only non-optional boss I'd consider bad, wish I could skip it)
I used the sniper rifle to shoot the weak points of the bosses... Salazar died so fast I thought would be another phase. I had to look the fight on RUclips to see if I did something wrong 😂
RUclips does not give me notifications or even put your channel on my TL. I have to manually look for you every couple weeks my guy; ask them about it.
Is it actually worth shooting at Krauser when he’s using the rocket launcher? I don’t think he actually takes and damage during that segment, and it doesn’t really seem to slow him down either.
Fun fact much like nemesis in re3 original the el gigante lava pit is scripted they just did a good job hiding it. Infact if you use a mod that locks them above the pit they teleport back into position because they were not in a knocked down state. Also yes og nemesis was scripted they just did a good job hiding it. You onky notice that he appears on certain conditions after a while
I’m very disappointed. Saddler was my favorite boss of them all… Mainly cause I used two rocket launchers to beat him in like two minutes and was laughing my guys out at how easy he was when I brought a rocket launcher to a gun fight
With the rumors of Persona 6 coming sometime soon, why not do a boss ranking video of all the bosses from Persona's 3 through Persona 5 Royal as a way to celebrate that? Lol
The Bitores Mendez fight was shocking! When I was recording my Re4 experience and encountered Mendez my jaw was dropped, I did not expect his transformation. Sure there is no audio of my voice but I was very confused and scared.
The only one I can agree on is krauser, fantastic rework of the original fight, but the rest of the list I don’t agree with at all (btw I love the re4 remake, imo the best remake of the re series by far) let’s start with the salazar fight, might be an unpopular opinion but as a true re4 I FKN hate the salazer remake fight, personally I would put it at the bottom with del lago, I get it it was and easy fight in the original, but it was waaaaay cooler even the cutscene was better and I’m extremely disappointed about this remade fight, and don’t even get me started on the garrador 15:56 … it was a good idea for the remake but I not even nearly as terrifying as in the original which took away a lot of value from the encounter, the normal and armored garrador fight was awesome no complains there but the first encounter was nicely thought and a great idea but it was dog fkn shit in the end, litterly the only complains I have about the remake are Salazar, first garrador and no u3 fight which in my opinion hade the potential to be a top 3 fight in the remake I love the original one, very sad they cut it of from the remake
1. Ganondorf 2. HC Phantom Ganon 3. Queen Gibdo 4. Colgera 5. Seized Construct 6. Marbled Gohma 7. Mucktorok 8. Demon Dragon BTW this is my opinion and all the bosses and fun i just dont vibe with the mucktorok and demon dragon as much as the others. Demon dragon is still better than the piece of shit that is dark beast ganon tho.
I actually think Verdugo is the worst overall fight. At least he is for me. For 2 reasons. First, the fight itself doesn't have much going on. You really are just running away and occasionally freezing Verdugo and then shooting him for 10 seconds. Repeat until dead. At least Del Lago is a cool set piece boss that's visually interesting even tho there isn't much going on there either. My second bigger problem is the overall design of the fight and area. You don't need to kill him to progress forward and it takes an ungodly amount of ammo to kill him. I believe he has the highest HP amount in the game. Because of this, you are heavily incentivized and rewarded for just avoiding him while grabbing all the massive amounts of health and ammo until the elevator arrives. Which gives you way too much ammo and health for the next couple of chapters making them much easier than they should be. I have done 8 playthroughs and gotten all challenges and I think I've only bothered to kill Verdugo 2 or 3 times.
The "main" Krauser fight absolutely had a HUGE glow-up in this game. Not quite as big as the Salazar fight, true, but this Krauser fight was so much for fun and felt significantly more meaningful than the original did

I'm guilty of fighting him exclusively on that little bridge on my first playrhough. Then I discovered the area on the 2nd. "Oh..."
I will also admit that I didn’t know about the larger arena for Adam Sandler
I really appreciated how the remake put more emphasis on the horror and tension like the original. Really made it feel like a true Resident Evil game.

2. Verdugo (skippable? sure, but that takes longer than fighting him... cool game design)
3. Krauser 1 (lol I love that knife fight... also you can't use an RPG here, not that it would make sense to, and that's kinda cool
4. Double El Gigante (I really love this fight, especially because there's a wider variety of strategies than given credit for)
5. Saddler (discounting RPG, I actually like the design of the fight and the arena, and the Novistador minions are a nice touch)
6. Salazar (some of his moves feel a little cheap to me but agree with the sentiments, and the golden egg is soooooo great)
7. Mendez (I find it a little dull after repeat playthroughs, but that first playthrough was dope)
8. El Gigante (too iconic to count lower)
9. Garrador (oh he counts? okay then... you can actually skip him with a single flash bang, although the variety in actually fighting him is really cool)
10. Bella Sisters (good arena for this one)
11. Golden Knight (the hardest and most interesting of the request bosses imo)
12. Armored El Gigante (I just don't think of him as a boss... but included since he's in the video)
13. Savage Mutt (eh, kinda a lousy fight honestly, more annoying than anything)
14. Ironest Maiden (the problem is that it's ridiculously easy to cheese the fight by luring him to the exit... and without any incentive not to, it's just too tempting...)
You forgot the best part why Krauser is the best,,, He still a GOOD man at the end
Where are the Remnant 2 videos!!! 😢
I was waiting on this one.
Good video. Looking forward to jedi survivor
Finally a good video.
Are you gonna review Totk bosses? Just the major ones with health bars
Is it actually worth shooting at Krauser when he’s using the rocket launcher? I don’t think he actually takes and damage during that segment, and it doesn’t really seem to slow him down either.
You might not see this comment but please do a video ranking the Jedi: Survivor bosses!
I did not Mendez had a eye. I honestly thought his weak spot in phase one was his waist since you deal enough damage and he literally splits in two
For me the best is the verdigou and the worst is Krauser with my second favourite being the fish del Lagou
You onky notice that he appears on certain conditions after a while
Loved the original from the gamecube days.
I see you Bingo edit...
DeMod being Krauser turns into Triple H hahahaha
Hey demod will you ever do a Hi-fi rush boss ranking?
someone else already did a boss ranking video on it so idk if he’d get many views, probably unlikely
Waiting for Jedi survivor boss ranking
I’m very disappointed. Saddler was my favorite boss of them all…
Mainly cause I used two rocket launchers to beat him in like two minutes and was laughing my guys out at how easy he was when I brought a rocket launcher to a gun fight
Thanks for always making amazing content over the years.🎉
Are you ranking the star wars jedi survivor bosses?
You need the roll dodge mod
With the rumors of Persona 6 coming sometime soon, why not do a boss ranking video of all the bosses from Persona's 3 through Persona 5 Royal as a way to celebrate that? Lol
Are you going to do the final fantasy 16 bosses
Don't save the dog. It resets the boss health back to 100%
I hope you have picked up AC6 I am sure you have had a copy for ages but man this is a game I wasn’t expecting and that’s only good lol
What demod didnt Rocket launcer everything?
Honestly, I thought Krauser's VA did a great job.
Out of all fights, the only one i feel is an immediate downgrade is mendez, mainly just for his second phase
can you do a boss ranking for Hi-Fi Rush?
your launcher did hit it just caused the cutscene
Hey if you see this can you please do a undertale boss ranking video?if you haven't played yet,now is the time!
Why does this man sound just like force gaming
Can you rank punishing gray raven bosses?
do Dead Space bosses please
Why don't you check out hifi rush? I'm sure it's right up your alley!
Ok I appreciate that Sandy Cheeks joke.
The Salazar fight is downright terrible
You should play ultrakill
Please rank Tears of the Kingdom bosses
1. Ganondorf
2. HC Phantom Ganon
3. Queen Gibdo
4. Colgera
5. Seized Construct
6. Marbled Gohma
7. Mucktorok
8. Demon Dragon
BTW this is my opinion and all the bosses and fun i just dont vibe with the mucktorok and demon dragon as much as the others. Demon dragon is still better than the piece of shit that is dark beast ganon tho.
As I liked the remake I cant forgive them taking out “it”
I actually think Verdugo is the worst overall fight.
Idk that was unnecessarily mean to krausers va dude sold his character.
