    In this lesson, you will learn how to find the slope of a line. We will learn what the slope physically means, including its meaning when we have an undefined slope (vertical line), or a zero slope (horizontal line).
    We will work many problems to calculate the slope and interpret the results.

    I am 82. So I don't really need more math courses at this time. I never got a college degree but I did take some college math courses and I worked for a government agency that had an excellent advanced technical training program. So, I ended up with Algebra, college algebra, pre-calculus, trig and analytical geometry. But no Calculus. I had to work at math, although I did get good grades. It never came easy to me. So I have always been interested in math although not especially good at it. I ran across your youtube channel just by browsing. I am so impressed by how clear you make these concepts. Anyone who had you for a math teacher was very lucky. It occurred to me how fortunate homeschoolers are nowadays compared to a decade or so ago.

    This man is a gift from heaven for those who wish to improve their math skills. Hands down the best Professor/Tutor/Teacher I've ever come across. NASA was lucky to have him, and now we are the fortunate ones. Apart from being extremely modest and pleasant, he is extremely generous with his knowledge in other subjects, too, such as chemistry and physics.

    💯Woow,i'm in my forties and i like to say thanks somuch for these great step by step explanation with historical concepts why the use of the letter "m" ,
    Presently attending a GED class where my teacher didn't go into details this way when it came to slopes as she just went straight by drawing the slopes, and i didn't understand and had many questions but i didn't want to be the one asking too many questions in class so i don't look like the dumb one,
    But i found my worries and questions answered in your video, thanks somuch-

    A(معامل اكس) + B(معامل واي) = C( الثابت : رقم )
    وتخيل : نفس الرسم البياني ولكن خط منحدر قليلًا جزئه الصغير في الجهة السفلية والعظيم في الجهة العلوية وهذا يسمى - small slope منحدر صغير .
    وتخيل : نفس الرسم البياني ، خط طويل يمتد في الجهة العلوية والسفلية للرسم البياني يسمى - Medium slope منحدر طويل .
    وتخيل : ذات الرسم البياني ولكن الفرق ان المنحدر هذه المرة منحدر جدًا ومقارب إلى التعمد طولًا ويسمى - High slope منحدر مرتفع .
    - المنحدر غير محدد . وهو كبير بشكل لانهائي .
    M = Rise\Run = y²-y¹\x²-x¹

      Well this is a “part 1” video and there are follow in lessons. You can’t cover Everything in one single video, otherwise I would continue on pass these topics in to the basis of calculus which also depends on the slope equation.

  • @zacharycarbon4312
    @zacharycarbon4312 4 года назад

    could it be that 'm' is for 'matrices' ? which can be used to plot a slope? i realize i could just look it up but I place alot of value in checking organic ideas before just googling them.

      At 16:55 he shows why it is called neg. edit: absolute value is 3, but - indicates which way the line slopes. Watch it a few more times, you will understand before long.
