I'm honestly thankful I came across this channel. my daughter is taking algebra her first time ever and AP... with a horrible teacher who doesn't believe in actually teaching or notes.... 🤦🏻♀️ just watch a brief video, either get it or you don't.. here's the worksheet and do it. Told her to ask questions/make it a habit (she's 12, so learning to over come that fear of asking questions and taking quicker notes...), but her teacher responds with, "you'll figure it out as we go along..." luckily, algebra has been one of my stronger areas, but trying to remember from high school. when she shows me her homework and asks, I'm like oh this and that.... not fully paying attention... then give it a 2nd look and I'm like 😳... noticed all the answers were correct but always told her if she can explain/show me how she got her answer then I know she fully understands. she blantantly said, it doesn't make any sense and this is what the teacher told us to write down and we moved on to the next chapter..clearly mentioned no 1 else in her class understood either and even tried asking, to be dismissed. she kind of had an idea, just that uncertainty and I couldn't think how to simplify from the beginning... point being, less than 10 so far of watching this video and I already know this video will help explain and make sense quickly w/o the stress. thank you for breaking it down into layman terms.. explaining the ins and outs and why it's called function of x.... etc etc etc she's been sick the last week in a half, so with already a bs teacher then so far behind knowing her teacher will just say... you'll catch up...... just 🙅🏻♀️ nope. (picked up her work and go figure.... not a single page of notes... just the work) exactly why I always worked w/ her over the summer for years. never know.. anyways... sorry for the long comment.... thank you so much for this video.
Because of your instruction, I am able to understand many math concepts that have had me flummoxed my entire life. Your explanations and diagrams have opened up a difficult subject for me. You are so very welcome! Please keep at it and I am confident you will succeed!
This is the only video that ive seen that actually helped me to understand functions, this man explains everything so simply
You made me fall in love with calculus, you're amazing keep enlightening us 👌🙏😆
I did my Cambridge"O" level in 1967 and I was best in mathematics but I don't remember learning function then. Perhaps it was not in syllabus then but I don't think I would understand the subject unless you were the teacher to it.I am now grasping avery thing on this lesson my age (76) notwithstanding and enjoying the whole program.Thank you very much. I am still following maths lessons just for the love of it
watching this the night before my exam. thank you #legend
I am from Bangladesh. Thanks a lot sir for the great class.........💖💖💖💖💖
I wish you existed 60 years ago to enjoy my mathematics then before graduating as an engineer
I really appreciate it!

Told her to ask questions/make it a habit (she's 12, so learning to over come that fear of asking questions and taking quicker notes...), but her teacher responds with, "you'll figure it out as we go along..." luckily, algebra has been one of my stronger areas, but trying to remember from high school. when she shows me her homework and asks, I'm like oh this and that.... not fully paying attention... then give it a 2nd look and I'm like 😳... noticed all the answers were correct but always told her if she can explain/show me how she got her answer then I know she fully understands. she blantantly said, it doesn't make any sense and this is what the teacher told us to write down and we moved on to the next chapter..clearly mentioned no 1 else in her class understood either and even tried asking, to be dismissed. she kind of had an idea, just that uncertainty and I couldn't think how to simplify from the beginning...
point being, less than 10 so far of watching this video and I already know this video will help explain and make sense quickly w/o the stress. thank you for breaking it down into layman terms.. explaining the ins and outs and why it's called function of x.... etc etc etc
she's been sick the last week in a half, so with already a bs teacher then so far behind knowing her teacher will just say... you'll catch up...... just 🙅🏻♀️ nope. (picked up her work and go figure.... not a single page of notes... just the work) exactly why I always worked w/ her over the summer for years. never know..
anyways... sorry for the long comment....
thank you so much for this video.
Absolute legend! Thanks for this, you've made mathematic functions easy to understand!
Because of your instruction, I am able to understand many math concepts that have had me flummoxed my entire life. Your explanations and diagrams have opened up a difficult subject for me.
For the first time in my life I am enjoying math. Yes, I am enjoying it!!!
My sincerest thanks to you, Dr Math and Science! ❤️🌻♥️
May Allah Bless you, This concept was very difficult for me to learn but you are actually trying to teach people and not overcomplicating it as well thank you.

This professor is a genius, and I am at a loss for words for describing his teaching abilities. He did a fantastic job of discussing this subject. If I had this teacher, I wouldn't ever dislike math.but it never gets late. I'm really thankful.
My gf didn’t understand this, so I found the easiest way for her to understand, thank you.
@Levan Evans may you please help me .l am struggling as well
@@mervismakasi779 think of a function as a method lets say y=x here y is a triangle and x is gonna represent the sides of triangle. So here function is like a machine which is saying that this condition results in x. Fx=x means function of x=x meaning that fx=y as y=x so does fx =x the only difference here is that fx is said as function of x which is equal to y as y equals x .
@@lordx4641 thank you
@@mervismakasi779 sorry to complicate in the last line its simply that fx =y=x the only diff between fx and y is nothing but notations that isbdifferent label (names
@@lordx4641 got it. It's now clear.
He explains perfectly and takes time when talking. He also repeat what he said that i love. Thank you man
Great video, I'm watching in my time off so I can keep my mind sharp.
Good luck in your studies!

you are the best teacher I have ever seen, good work.
Hey professor first of all I would like to say ur teaching skill is perfect I liked it very much and my opinion is it would be better if u make a live so that we can ask a question and u will answer as too and I like how u reply for students👏👍
❤❤❤
I think the teacher plays a great role in invoking/maintaining/developing interest of students.
Im 65 and thought I was too stupid to learn anything math but I see it is completely understandable. I feel robbed by all those teachers who didn’t teach this subject well.
Thank you! It’s never too late to learn!
I was robbed, they are still robbing our kids but I'm not taking it lying down
Thank you so much! I asked my high school teacher what is a function. We were doing functional exuations but I had no idea what they are. She couldn't explain. After 10 mins of whatching this I understand it. When you drew the graph of function f(x) = x^3 I instantly got it why is it like that. Before I had no idea what those graphs represent.
Im 13 and just into pyhsics but i need to learn math, then i started to learn math and now i love math more
haklısın kardeşim
The only Prof that made me grasp math after watching a lot of math videos the past 10 years, THANK YOU!
I needed this for my assessment thank you soon much I love you for this
Sir I'm so grateful for your videos . I'm appearing for competitive exams in India where this chapter is very important. However being from medical background I couldn't understand it. After watching almost 10 videos I reached here and I've never been the luckiest. Thank you so much .
Thank you for the Great Video. Could you kindly share the title of the next video? I want to watch all your videos about Functions in the right sequence. Thanks again for the excellent explanation. 🙏🏻👏👍
I've spent over 2 hours trying to understand all this & you just made me instantly get it in 10 mins. Thank you!
this man has to be the best. i love ur way of explaining. your lesson is amazinggggggggg
So happy you liked it!

You are definitely the best in explaining things. I have no words to describe your teaching skills.
Why can't you write a book ? Your explanation is so really
Thank you very much sir that's all I can say because what ever I say it's not going to be enough
The best explanation ever I've came across.Even my Math Teacher can't explain clearly like this.
Thank you, professor.
This helped me a lot.
Thank you sir
Currently in a math class and I'm not sure they really want me to understand, they short hand all explanations where you actually explain them in depth

I struggle to sleep, but 5 minutes of my maths class will send me straight to sleep. But this guy....Kept me awake and helped me ACED MY TEST! Please keep the videos coming, you are a great teacher.
Wow this easy. Thank you Mr 💖
I'm Algerian, we learn with Arabic, But somehow i understood from this more than i did from Arabic lessons, Maybe because i used functions in coding, where i also learned coding using English. Interesting
I have been trying to Teach myself Calculus for several years and until now I just could not get my head around "The Function" until now!
Awesome! You are well on your way!
Same started three days ago, thanks for explaining
I’m so glad I stumbled onto this video….his explanation is amazingly easy to understand. Functions are fascinating
Im in 5th grade and im this and i see high schoolers here thanks allot this really help me have a nice day!
You are welcome! Good luck in your studies!
OMG I ITS LIKE A SOMEONE UNLOCKED A PART OF MY BRAIN TO UNDERSTAND THIS. I've always had issue with understanding what f(x) was and how it impacted graph. THANK YOU FOR EXPLAING THIS SO CLEARLY!
My dog is a typical function!! You feed him x and y is coming from the other side
