  • Kirby Allison is again joined by Joe Hemrajani of MyTailor, this time to conduct their second fitting of a new bespoke suit. Joe brings along the trial suit for Kirby to try on, and goes through the process with Kirby, as he amends the fit, so as to ensure that the next time they meet he will bring along a perfect fitting final suit.
Based in Southern California, but travelling worldwide for fittings, Joe Hemrajani first began making shirts for Kirby almost 8 years ago. After a successful first suit, Which Kirby is wearing in this video, Joe is back to create another beautiful suit for Kirby, this time in a dark charcoal grey.

That's the key thing to look at in order to see if the tailor is good or not.
If he looks bad in his suit it means that he isn't even capable of tailoring a well fitting suit for himself.

Good to see the suit fitting happening as you get more of a sense of the process. I've recently had a couple of 2-piece suits tailored recently and I didn't really know what to say or request as I was relying on the tailor's eye and experience.
    Thanks again.

@@kirbyallison You are, of course, right. I did guide my tailor to some degree: such as the break on the trousers, and the length of the jacket. The 'kids' wearing suits these days don't have a break on the trousers and the slim fit, oh the trend for the slimmer fit (!). Again, I appreciate your knowledge and content as it feeds into my growing aesthetic.
      Thanks

I also started with fused suits, when I was 18. Now at my age 37, I am already experienced suit lover always wanting full canvass suit and smooth merino wool or cashmere. I know, that fused suit can also be of high quality, if made by good tailor, but now with my knowledge, only canvassed is the way to go. I wouldn´t feel that good in a fused one, because if you know something better, there is no way to go back unless the money is problem. I hope Kirby enjoys all his suits and live the traditonal life he loves.

@@kirbyallison , I actually got two shirts - 1) end-on-end light blue dress shirt for work (neapolitan collar to wear with a tie - a must at work), and a white poplin with a cooper collar.
I just got them today. I washed them and will wash them again tomorrow to get the shrinkage out of the way, but the initial fit is damn near perfect. I will definitely be getting at least two more cooper collar shirts (one in light blue, and a white/blue striped one). I think I've found the primary place I will be getting my dress shirts from now on.

Depends on the tailor and taste...
Ive bought from Isaia Napoli and its about 1-1/2’’ higher than my fitted Zegna.

I would say so far this “prototype” is pretty disappointing in shape for me…the back looks ok…but waist and 1st button is really weird…way too narrow at 1st button.the entire front looks like a pear…the back collar also failed to fit the neck line. Generally it’s a really bulky fit. Trousers is generally okay but the length need adjustment as well. Hopefully he can fix those in the final version.

I agree. He's acts like it's a true bespoke but it's not. He charges for a mtm but with a few tweaks. Everything else he does is for appearance. Sneaky salesmen in my opinion. This type of syit should cost 800 bucks tops. Your basically adding a free throw away garment to your mtm suit.

Well shined shoes and gold watches [always] look great on stage the way the light reflects and embues life while adding presence.
Football player shoulder pads do not. Legislative branch take note.
      Morning suits FTW.

You clearly haven't been watching his videos. Mr Allison knows exactly what bespoke is. There is a continuum between an off the rack suit. with high quality extensive alteration-tailor work all the way to full bespoke. He is identifying this as a low cost version that is just above off the rack with alterations.

@@giannismarkos2097 I'm not claiming this is full bespoke, and neither is he. He is clearly describing something that is made-to-measure with some extra touches. That said, the title of the video is a bit misleading by using the word "bespoke." I'm just happy that he is showing a younger generation how they can get something better than anything off the rack, and encouraging men to improve their wardrobe.

Joe's son has trouble understanding the concept of PERSONAL SPACE. When Kirby's face is turned back for Joe to adjust, Joe's son SHOULD NOT face Kirby. It's both awkward and invading of space. WTF is Kirby going to do?! Stare at Joe' son?! COME ON!
