My Final Bespoke Fitting with Henry Poole & Co | From Suit To Shoot | Episode 6

- In Episode 6 of Kirby Allison's "From Suit to Shoot" RUclips series, we return to Savile Row tailors Henry Poole & Co, for the second fitting of Kirby's bespoke five-piece shooting suit. The second fitting, or the finish bar finishing fitting, is the point where the final form of the suit comes together. The garment is fully constructed and ready for all of the details of fit to be evaluated by the bespoke cutter.
Any necessary adjustments, such as sleeve or trouser length, the pitch of the sleeve, etc, is then made before the garment is "finished" with handmade buttonholes and the edge stitching. This attention to detail is one of the many elements that gives the final bespoke product it's absolute integrity. Nothing passes the keen eye of the bespoke cutter as he works to ensure that the suit is perfect.

Yeah, I've been repeating that flawless hanger spin at 3:04
Even at this stage that suit look exceptional! Incredible craftsmanship
This series is without a doubt.. the best thing I've ever watched on RUclips, and I'm old enough to remember there never being a RUclips lol.
Watching the suit go through the entire process from idea to completion has been amazing! The production quality of the videos has helped make them a true pleasure to watch.
Hey Kirby, I've been learning to sew shirts lately and it's dawned on me that shirts are a completely different industry to suits. As such, I think it would be worth putting on your bucket list to make a tailoring documentary series (like this series and the cowboy boots one) but for shirts. I think it would be interesting to see the process of designing and fitting the collar.
Funny you say that… we are actually working on editing a series we filmed with Budd Shirtmaker.
@@kirbyallison Ah Budd are good I hear.
Although I noticed in the background of one of these recent videos a sneaky calender marking November 2021, so I suppose I will have to wait quite a while xP.
The quality of these videos are top notch, TV isn't so popular these days... but these are TV quality if you know what I mean, it's your best content to date I think.
Don’t forget the Wil Whiting series. I make very amateur shirts at home. I took the casual shirt option because that’s what I wear! There’s detail in dress shirts like the curve of the collar over your shoulders. A lot of the fit, I’ve found, comes from getting the shoulder and yoke section right. That’s before you worry about the detailing. Good luck.
@@kirbyallison I'd have thought you'd have gone to Turnbull & Asser.
There’s a series with will whiting that’s very good for shirts with Kirby except one of the episodes that feels a bit odd.. it’s worth watching though
Watch the first six episodes in one go and enjoyed every minute.
Amazing to see this piece come together. You can honestly see the garment adapt to Kirbys body with every fitting. Looking forward to see how the garment functions when used in the field. Anxiously waiting for the next episode with James Purdey & Sons.
Up next!!
amazing suit and its details, true bespoke greatness there to see, its been a pleasure to watch the series for the last 6 video's, cant wait to see the "finished" jacket in the next one
Incredible experience. Amazing level of attention to the small details. Exceptional craftsmanship. Thank you, Mr. Kirby !
New game: Every time you hear the word "proper", take a drink. You'll be properly sloshed by the end.
I was thinking the same thing but instead with the word bespoke
I was wondering about the sleeve and he addressed it, a true bespoke professional!
Excellent excellent excellent
Henry Poole is the best bespoke tailor in the world!!
Amazing to see how a tailor fits a suit💚💚👍👍
As someone who does sheet metal work I’m amazed at how this is done
This whole series has been a pleasure to watch
What skill it takes to make those small holes for the double pronged buckle at the knees on the trousers! Amazing!
No particular skill needed there. That's basic for any tailors. It's just a matter of time and, ultimately, price for the garment.
This is phenomenal, thank you Kirby!
What a fascinating process. This video series makes me appreciate the true craftsmanship that goes into making such a garment.
Outstanding content as always. The amazing level of attention to the small details is fascinating to watch. Looking forward to the rest of the series, especially the shotgun side. There is an equal level of history and incredible bespoke options from outstanding British manufactures.
I can't wait to see the next episode, incredible experience, thanks to bring us all your master pieces
Lovelovelove the suit, the fit is classic. I'm looking forward to the guns🤺🥰
Coming next!
Looking good Kirby. Alex's suit is a thing of beauty also.
NICE. A proper set up i bet you can't wait to go shooting.
Hey Kirby I love these videos on the tradition and craft of the bespoke. The heritage shops are a dream of mine to visit one day.
New game: Everytime you hear the word”bespoke”, take a drink. You’ll be proper mullered by the end.
I was just searching through the comments to see if anyone thought of this! If he says “true bespoke,” finish your drink!
Holy moly, you would be bespokely hammered!
Thank you Kirby. Wonderful job. Can't wait for Purdey. A glimpse into the best BEST gun maker in the world.
I think Boss & Co. Might have something to say about that but it would be a close run thing.
Wow! It's really coming along nicely, Kirby!
Yet another wonderful video. Thank you.
This could probably be your best suit ever.
Outstanding kirby what an truly beautiful suit and can not wait for the next episode thankyou sir I've enjoyed all the episode's in the current series 👏
This is such an anachronism, love it
kirby talking about all the different ways he can use the suit is sounding like bubba talking about all the different ways to cook shrimp
Never worn anything like that as of the shelf suits never looked or felt good, but having a suit made by these guys is definitely a bucket list thing to experience and wear.
I love this tweed. Most people can’t afford this but is it possible you could offer this tweed in a flat cap for sale to your subscribers?
YESSS KIRBY LOOKING FANTASTIC BRO!!! 🙏🙏💪💪😎😎👌👌 KINDEST REGARDS FROM NZ
3:04 extra points on that hanger spin~
Love this content.
Alex: You could use it as a sport coat with jeans
Kirby: Jeans???
This has certainly been an education for us, and the nearly finished product is quite impressive. The firearm feature will be interesting, and I wonder if you will do a presentation on learning proper hunt/shooting etiquette?
RIP Alex
Absolutely sir. I agree without a doubt in my mind.
Good day gentlemen.
So awkward! I can’t get over how awkward Kirby is. I want to love him. I do. But man, his vibe is so awkward.
But on the other hand, the cinematography is wonderfully done.
You do have to remember he is just an average man sharing his passion with the rest of us. He doesn't profess to be an actor, which I think you are confusing him with.
@@melvincain5012 he’s not average by any stretch to afford what he’s affording. And his profile isn’t average.
@@treasuretim3 what are you on about? He’s not average in means and wealth. Interesting projection though bud. Quite homophobic as well.
At the end did you really say “When it comes to shooting, the guns are just as important as the clothing..” 😂
Soon Sir Kirby Allison
I'm not really a tweed sort of person but that is an excellent looking suit
Very nice
Thanks.
I have really enjoyed this series so far and wanted to thank you for documenting this beautiful traditional craftsmanship so that people who might not be able to afford it can still enjoy this process. But I also think that the industry can call themselves fortunate for having you due to the exposure they gain from your content.
However I have watched all episodes with a bad feeling knowing that this series will conclude in meaningless killing of animals for entertainment purposes only. But I hope that it will have a happier ending than that.
It won’t. In Scotland we shoot game which has lived in the wild as nature intended with welfare standards which are so far superior to industrially farmed food as to be unrecognisable by comparison. Even if you are not a meat eater the welfare cost to animals of most industrial arable farming is grossly unacceptable. Yes the birds will be shot but for food first with entertainment being secondary.
@@G.UK76 Nowdays, we don't need to rely on animal products for nutrition, and without it being a necessity it becomes a prefence. So you kill not because you have to but because you want to. In other words: for the enjoyment.
plus4s/2s look so comfortable with braces. might need to investigate
If you had plus twos on those narrow trousers I think that they would look more like breaks. Trousers are not so wide as they used to be so I think that plus fours are preferable in them.
DEAR KIRBY, I WOULD LOVE TO LEARN ABOUT CHOOSING BUTTONS, THEIR DIFFERENT MEANINGS AND HISTORY AND ALSO MAYBE CUFFLINK SELECTION?? 👌😎🙂👍🙏🙏🙏 AGAIN FANTASTIC SERIES AND BLESSINGS TO YOU AND THE FAMILY. KIND REGARDS BEN FROM NZ 👌
hello kirby greetings from peru, and tell you that we also have bespoke here
Hi Kirby, I love this series fantastic job! Quick question, did Alex recommend lapels on the waistcoat or was that just your preference?
Enjoyable and good production, but expected cost per wear?
Amazing people i hope to meet you one day , i wish you best
I feel like you should’ve been a lovable character from the untouchables.
Is the inside leg a bit high? On both pairs of trousers it looked pretty tight under the seat, I wonder how they felt when you bent over/sat down etc?
Great suit. Would the pants have been even better if they weren't so tapered? That old school fuller cut would have been so beautiful.
He has taken his lead from a company that has been dressing the wealthy for 200 years. I think they know what they're doing. Also the suit is a working garment not a fashion statement.
Very sad to hear that Alex Cooke passed away in November
Maybe it's just me but the jacket seems a bit tight at the lower back
Hey Kirby, I have been watching your videos for sometime. I always have trouble matching suits and shoes. Any recommendations?
Kirby essentially wants to live in 1920’s England and be Bertie Wooster.
Hi Kirby, love your videos, however, just a tiny bit of advice, cartridge’s not shells!! No criticism, just the attention to detail that you are so good at
but thought you went to the other tailors in Saville row hunt and xxx?
A truly great video, Kirby. One question , based on an observation; you went inside while it was broad daylight, yet @28:27 its early evening, and cars have headlights on! Just how long that that fitting take?! lol. I can't wait until you drop the next one!
The actual fitting wouldn't take anywhere near as long if we were not filming it.
@@kirbyallison CUT!!! Take that again, from the top.
They haven't renamed that street yet?
Why would Savile Row be renamed?
5:47 let's hope it ain't a barbed wire fence 😅
3:04 👌
I enjoy British tayloring, but in this instance my rural American traditions are too much to over come… duck cloth canvas and denim all the way 🇺🇸 .
At 1:43 is it just me or does he have the scope of the rifle on backwards?
How much would something like this cost? $15,000???
💯
Amazing craftsman ship, hope you don't mind me asking would sort of cost would this be?
Around $8,000
Cheaper than a luxury watch 🤔
What does a suit cost on Savile Row?
How much does this cost
Imagine being rich enough to commission a multi thousand pound bespoke suit for a weekend!! Seriously though knee breeches and stockings ,!?!
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
😍
When you get mad, do your balls go up into your system? How do you act when you're mad Kirby, such a delightful young man must get mad at times. Do explain fine sir.
Love the videos but some of your vocabulary is very predictable. It’s always “one of the hallmarks of a bespoke blah blah”. Just with your amount of time you spend to be a gentleman, maybe some courses to expand your word choices would be nice. Just seems so forced all the time. Love the process but we get it, it’s bespoke and it’s great.
Again, love the videos, also love the tweed selection on this as well.
This is such a bespoke comment!
Pity you did not go the whole hog

An amazing suit not just for shooting
Kirby look Into "mewing". Jaw exercises to grow you jaw chin etc
still trying work out if this is a real channel
Kirby old boy how is ya
keeping well!
kirby has bunda gaht damn
😛
Very nice to hear imperial still going strong in England and none of this metric rubbish....
Can not believe people actually spend this much money on something to go Hunting in, especially stalking. Can you imagine getting such a suit dirty, ripped, stained etc. Id be unable to hunt because id just be focused on protecting the clothing!!
I’d certainly be hesitant to crawl through the grass also!
3:31 that left arm on that jacket is a mess and needs an iron. Disappointed to see such a lack of attention to detail when going for your fitting at Poole.
need me a coat like that... where did you get it from Kirby? Also if anyone knows about a good long coat then let me know here :)
Divij bespoke
Hat needs to go
40 seconds of adverts? Pure greed.
When you show up,. everyone will be wearing fleece, just so you know. The truth is, it gets weirder and weirder to be the well dressed person in this word, sadly.
Sorry. No killing. Just left your channel.
No sheep died in the production of this video.
It's taken you a while to work out that he's going shooting.
don't gain weight!! 🙂
the undertaker...grow your hair out ....loosen up a little....your clothes all look the same.....
The strange world of Kirby and his collection of suit's and shoes.
If you don’t like it, push off and save the insults for somewhere else.
Why would you waste YOUR precious time watching something you disapprove of?
@@melvincain5012 who said I disapprove?
@@russ9921 edited post. He's not a Berk but he is a bit odd.
@@S-Ltd1000 No more odd than any of us who are interested in learning about and occasionally purchasing the very best in materials and artisan skills. Kirby has sought it out in clothing and shoes and introduced the best brands, techniques and quality to a far wider audience. That deserves to be applauded, not derided. Many people working in these trades are shy about proclaiming what they do, hiding their light under a bushel (there’s a British reticence in traditional spheres to boast or talk about yourself much as it’s not regarded as the right thing to do) so it needed someone with Kirby’s polite and slightly deferential approach to give them confidence to speak about themselves and what their work involves.
