110 years of experience and to still have a store after what will have been multiple recessions and financially difficult times. This shows just how good these gentleman are and to hear their story is a genuine privilege.
Their clients are gentlemen who can afford $5000 suits, at a minimum. People who commission bespoke suits don’t generally become poor due to recessions.

If you are independently wealthy and don’t need to work for a living (like most customers of bespoke shops), you can literally stay at home for 2 years and not visit any store. Also, if you don’t meet people, there’s no need for new clothes.

Love John Kent's working style when taking measurements. Textbook definition of 'being in good hands'. Taking the customer in hand with a relaxed, firmly assured and very courteous manner. It bears no doubt after seeing this why he was the Duke's tailor. As soon as he takes that tape measure to the customer he goes into his element and it's a delight watching him go about it. That moment the craftsman comes to light and the love and attachment to his work is put to full glare. You can guarantee that suit is going to come out 10/10.
The passion these blokes are going to put into the garments, from you allowing them to make something they want as well. The quality of clothing is going to be phenomenal.

Kirby, this is my first visit and I must say that I absolutely enjoyed this. I so much miss wearing suits as I am now retired, but still enjoy the dressing up for various occasions. This vid reminded me of my days in my naval career whereby one would take so much time in the visualization of the perfect final gentleman’s look in a sharp looking suit. Man do I miss this. I now visit my closet of many old outfits to include fine leather shoes and my collection of watches to accessorize the end product only to my memories of days past. Great vid and I’m in for the next fitting.

It doesnt have to be handmade English suit but something from Brooks Brothers even that you've taken to the tailor to fit you perfectly and then enjoy it
Interesting analogy about brick layers. I could apply that to my Dad's skill with a hammer. Whenever I worked with him I was amazed how clean and fast all the nails go in with him. Two of his four brothers were builders, so I think sometimes it's in the blood!

The thing about the DoE was that his dressing may have been classic but it was still within the broader fashion of the time. He never looked out of place or time, no matter his age.

The thing about the DoE was that his dressing may have been classic but it was still within the broader fashion of the time. He never looked out of place or time, no matter his age.
Excellent video, especially the history of both John and Terry and the houses they worked for. The discussion between the tailors was spot on; reflecting their experience and craftsmanship. Fun to watch.

Wonderful video Kirby, John and Terry have such fantastic humour and energy between them. It'd be really interesting if later down the line you're able to get a look at the paper patterns they've both drafted for you and how they differ slightly!
