I've been working with Divij for the past 6 months. Things are going very well and I'm more excited with every new session that we do. The value that he provides is absolutely outstanding. Jeans is going to be very high on my list in the next 6 months!
Loved this video! The passion about bespoke clothing and especially in a niche such as denim comes across through Divij's descriptions, backstories, as well as insights he brings in this video! Truly immersive! So glad I spent time watching this one! Thanks @Kirby for doing this episode! Look forward to more such videos with Divij...

There was an article I read years ago that discussed how some Saville Row tailors were now making bespoke denim jeans/trousers. Much more pricey than Levi's.
That is what I love about Mr. Allison's approach, he is not talking about 1 or two pairs, no he talks about dozens but all joking aside, I love the diversity of your channel and how you keep addressing so many different topics. A fantastic transformation from a great educational channel to a very informative entertainment program. Thanks for the great content
As a denimhead, I am happy to see content about selvedge denim discussed on this channel and didn’t expect to see this here! I highly recommend Naked & Famous Denim from Montréal!
As ever great. Fascinating new angles on clothes. I’ll remind the more pedantic, denim is De Nimes as in the French city and the word/garment jeans is from Genoa.
Hello Kirby from the UK ….. please can you advise where and whom is best to see in the uk these kinds of Denim …… I’m 36inch inside leg and always find it difficult to get the right style and fit ….. cheers 👍
As a women it's nearly impossible to find 100% cotton denim, almost everything out there has spandex in it as well and I cannot stand denim with stretch. It doesn't break in and wear the proper way. I have found them at many places but still quite rare and around 150 USD. I have found some great affordable 100% denim boyfriend women's jeans at American Eagle of all places but would love to have a reliable source
I'm a huge fan of Jacob Cohen jeans... I have several pair, and some of those are the limited edition's serial numbered all made with top quality Japanese natural indigo died selvage denim... but this is new to me.. bespoke Jeans? I'm intrigued..
I wear blue jeans every day. The last 5 vehicles I had are leather interior, as well as home furniture. I have yet to have a rivet or buckle or brass tab tear up my seats. I believe people regurgitate this from what they may have heard others say. As for my jeans, denting furniture, as you say, stubble around. Never damage furniture or dressers bc of a rivet. Maybe lay off the sauce is the answer.
Agreed and especially a strange statement when one includes some of the top end Japanese brands which are well regarded in the sartorial community. Admittedly while variety is hardly lacking fit is an challenge.
I'm a big fan of your videos! I would of liked to know what the cost of the denim is. Also, does Divij offer any discounts to Kirby Allison subscribers, if you mention this video?
@@tomf7305 Thanks for the input. That's very realistic pricing, and I may enquire about possibly having Divij make me a pair when I meet with him next month! Much more affordable than my previous pair of denim!!
When I was growing up my parents had our jeans dy cleaned and they never faded. I and my siblings complained that we wanted to be like the other children in the neighborhood.
Kirby im just getting started and want to get a bespoke jacket out of all the wonderful houses that you have experience with, what would you recommend I’d like it to be around 2000$ us since I’m only just starting. I live in Miami so it’s always Hot
Wait so never wash the jeans? do you dry clean? I take my jeans up to 6 wears depending on usage, and soil level. Can someone explain this one to me or am i missing something lol
Yes you would dry clean them like you would a pair of slacks or a jacket. You can even have them starched. I had one pair of jeans I did this with because the color and fit was so well I didn't want the color to bleed or for shrinkage. As long as you shower and change your undergarments daily then your jeans will be fine and you don't dry clean after ever wear just every few months. This isn't recommended for work jeans or casual pair of jeans from the mall unless they are a really great mall pair. The pair I did this with was a pair of Lucky jeans. I also only wear 100% cotton jeans Lucky and American eagle have a great selection and men's clothing stores carry classic Levi's as well. I don't like jeans with stretch but sometimes you'll see denim that isn't 100% cotton but will have hemp which is not stretchy or they'll have some polyester in them which is also not stretch. I avoid denim/spandex blends which is the majority of the jeans out there
Hey Kirby, first off, love your channel. I've wondered for a long time about how tattoos are perceived by people within the well-dressed community. I have neck and hand tattoos among many others and I've been amused by the idea of showing up to a white tie event and turning heads (which is very unlikely to ever happen.) Any insight on what one might expect?
@@Blastoplastify " but as a piece of city clothing it is really bizarre." I can't say I agree with this. A well fitting pair of non-distressed selvedge jeans are very versitale and suitable for business casual. Ill fitting jeans and distressed jeans aren't recommended tho.

Denim is from France - Serge des Nimes. It is not from US originally.
It is originally from Italy Genoa, also they said the first jeans pair with rivets is from the us not the first jeans pair ever.
Bread is from the Middle East. Then Italy found it. France made it famous. Shut up paul.

Kirby wondered, “How will these jeans look with my Opera Pumps and Braces”. 😂😂
Kirby, get one made and show us how you wear denim jeans.
I’m fine with my Wrangler’s. They look great with my cowboy boots and a western belt.
He was almost embarrassed to admit he wears “denim” on the weekend.

one thing is the quality of the denim and another is the style or cut of the jeans. italians mastered it imo

I had no idea Kirby wore denim!
I recently had my tailor make a pair of blue denim/linen trousers in a Solbiati fabric. I will wear these trousers with linen and hopsack jackets.
I literally couldn't agree more!
Very interesting. I'm a corduroy person myself. Hope you might do a show about that material.

My favourite jeans are Japanese with 70% cotton 30% wool. Ideal for dress denim fabric.

I haven't worn a pair of jeans in about 5 years. Don't miss them at all but I'm thinking of maybe getting a pair made.

Everyone should check out Brave Star for selvage on a budget. They are American made and beautiful!
"Do you guys have a shrinkage allowance?"
That's a very personal question Mr Kirby.
I like your jacket👍, and thank you for the videos. Yes, the quality of mass produced denim has gone downhill.

I vote an episode about denim and workwear collaborating with Carl Murawski.
The bespoke denim tailor kept mixing up warp and weft. The *weft* of denim is typically white, not the warp.
Bespoke jeans...😅...I have seen it all now..next vid: bespoke drawers

I currently have no denim. My daily pants are from 5.11 Tactical, Tactile Pro Ripstop pants.
Kirby, when will part 2 of the Dominic Casey ASMR video be released?
I loathe to go down the path of raw, selvedge denim (not even talking custom tailored yet)… it would quite possibly bankrupt me.
Kirby most definitely needs some extra space in the groin area.
How about the price?

Don't own any jeans, I prefer dress pants for everyday wear.
which tie know does Divij have here? four in hand or small ?
Sure bespoke jeans would be amazing. But how about a good leather jacket??
Denim + blazer/jacket is a fashion crime but some are blind to it. Either go jeans/casual or go smart.
However denim with a tweed or corduroy jacket can look rather smart in a casual setting such as a coffee shop or bistro.
@@LlyleHunter nope, it's still wrong :) it's the mix of casual with tailored that is so incongruous. A jacket require chinos or tailored trousers
