I have to say, I particularly love the Castle, especially when that long wall was set up, it reminded me of a childhood wish I had to create a huge castle diarama which btw, never really happened, at least from what I can remember. This kit would have been incredible though something I could never have afforded for my $2 per week pocket money. Great to see these days though.

The two at the front from those that you painted are my favs. I would love to see your colourful painted versions but the funny thing is, if the company does send you some items which would be great, anything thats not a huge collection is going to seem really stingy compared to the one sent to Real Terrain Hobbies channel.

    • @MaZEEZaM

Hey Brent, it would be really great if you could do a comparison with top quality standard heavy body acrylic paints with normal miniature hobby paints, if they work just as well, even the highest quality normal acrylic paints are going to seem value for money in comparison to really any of the major hobby brands such as GW and Vallejo.

Hey Goobey gotta say real quick:
I wanted to take just a Sneak Peak for this Video and come back to it later, but i got hooked immediately and had to watch it full because there is something about you that is very beautiful and has lost alot of appreciation in my opinion. And that is:
being human. Always when I turn on your Videos they give me a Feeling of home or safety and no matter what negativity has ever visited me that day gets washed away for a second (or half an hour ;D) and i can reevaluate certain Things which you say just like it is everyday normal life but you are so: HUMAN. It almost feels Alien to me. But it is so Refreshing and makes me think alot of myself and life (in a positive manner thanks to you) that I couldnt resist but to share it with you what a gift of a person you are for me. Keep it up and I wish you all the best in life!

Very cool Brother Brent. One of the first hobby videos I watched was Reals' 4 or 5 part Inn/Tavern. Then I started watching your mini painting, and challenges. Incredible seeing two titans of the craft come together.

What an awesome opportunity! This video shows off your passion for the hobby and your dedication for creating videos. You are an inspiration on both fronts. I could tell you were like a kid in a candy store. You are living the dream Brent!
I bet you could find a comfortable and ergonomic office chair for the Real Terrain Hobbies Studio (and Neil's back) through Amazon and have it delivered there. 😁

One of my favorite things about Goobertown Hobbies as a channel (besides Brent’s mellifluous voice) is how it has become a nexus of jumping off points to other hobby channels. Since subscribing to this channel last year, I have found out about and subscribed to more high-quality mini-painting channels than I had in the 5 years before.

I came over from Real Terrain after watching this video, and I have really enjoyed your "PhD Chemist explains" videos, being from a biotech background. I was so tempted and eventually bought the 'Mansion' from Tabletop World. It arrived yesterday. You all did not give enough superlatives when describing these models! The cracks between the floorboards are so deep, I can slip my fingernails in, and feel like I could pull them up. The roof shakes are so sharp, I'm worried about getting splinters from them. And the tiny little nailheads on the top shakes - with joint seams and nailheads on the ridge boards... So many exquisite details! Spending a week to paint many of these seems almost criminal - I intend to take as long as it takes to paint my one building - one could spend an hour on one rock in the foundation, and it would be worth it, because the detail is there to bring out...

First comment on this channel, but I really enjoy your videos. I especially loved this one. This 5-day challenge was really enjoyable to watch and the finished product was something any mini painter would love to have.
As someone who enjoys mini painting but doesn’t get very much time to do it, your videos help me stay engaged in the hobby even while I’m not painting. Furthermore, your style is absolutely wonderful. You try new things, you aren’t scared to make a few mistakes, and most important of all: you have fun! Keep it up! I really enjoy the videos.

It's a nerd wet dream! It's a shame that you didn't manage to get it all done, but it was incredibly ambitious considering the detail on these models. Great video, I wouldn't have minded some more close up shots of what you two were doing with a bit of chat about what you were doing at the time though. Still a great watch which got me through my mountain of dishes!
