Saw them live a lot at this time. They’d use this as a “warm up “ glance over at each other, smile, and you knew it would be a good gig. Invariably, it was.
I don't think there was anyone better than Level 42 live 1980 - 1987 ish. It's easy to forget what an amazing drummer Phil is too. As musicians we all show boat it up front and forget about the guy on the pots and pans behind us keeping it all going.
Brother and I would pop over to Heston Motorway Services in 1982......I was 24, he was 21.....this was playing on the cassette stereo in the car.......just superb. Amazing band.... RIP the incredible Boon Gould.
Looking back at those years I now realize that Boon and Phil Gould were pillars for the band as much as Mark and Mike. One of the greatest bands ever existed.
Level 42 in full flow are breathtaking, their melodic harmonies are legendary. To those who have seen them live recently, so glad you had an amazing time! Love reading comments about their live shows. One of the greatest 'studio' and 'live' bands of their generation.

It's like the best musicians in the world right there up on that stage at that time! They were awesome together! RIP Boon Gould. 🙏
That first album is untouchable.

Who would love to see these four play live together again?
