    I’ve only owned my first Abarth for about three years, and I know allot of people complain about the same engine being reproduced and resold as a new limited edition model, but for me it’s all about the potential and how these little engines can be modified. The Italian spirit and heritage is still there which is what i love about these little cars.
    Which other car would you find that when increasing the volume the stereo randomly mutes?
    Quality features like that are priceless and make me appreciate the Monza exhaust that little bit more 👍🏼

      Just get out of them what they can before they will be electric.
      I don't think we will see a all new ICE Abarth any time soon.

    Buy the simple esseesse that gets tighter sabelts with carbon fibre backs, it has the akrapovic carbon exhaust and you can spec carbon dash as well. If you want the trick spoiler, Oldschool Garage are making an active one that looks sick and works like an airbrake as well.

    Can just imagine the discussion at abarth HQ
    "we've got some 70th anniversary spoilers lying around, what should we do with them"
    "pfft, let's just make another special edition. I'm sure we'll find some other left over parts lying around"

    Makes my 70th Anniversary EsseEsse look an absolute bargain given its spec compared to this. No LSD, No carbon fibre Sabelts - think ill be keeping mine. Great vid as always Stef

    I can hear it in your voice Stef, and I feel the same - Another rehash !!
    They could easily and safely up the power to 200bhp
    It would then be able to keep up with the Ford Fiesta ST's and JCW mini's.

    Existential, mushy doggo! It is cool how they can just bump out moods and vibes of this car, still a stout option for that gas milage/performance/price orb.
    Next they need to bump out a matching paint steelies, prettyrings, chrome domes, whitewalls, tpms, and no spoilers or valences model, and bring back the 1.4 n/a multiair, electric, and some sleeper nonbadged turbos in there. The Classiccoré (rolled r)

    I do like the Abarth range so much so I’m on my 3rd Abarth 500/595 going for a fourth, I just wish they would put cruise control on the Abarth’s sure can’t be that costly to do as the non Abarth 500 range comes with it or at least as a option to pick, I feel that lets them down compared to their competition.

    • @Scealmora
      @Scealmora 3 года назад +1

      I agree with you the lack of cruise control is so annoying, especially if you are used to it on other cars.... The speed climbs too easily on these when driving, and with it being present on the Fiat 500s there is no excuse!

    • @brianiswrong
      @brianiswrong 3 года назад

      Not having cruise control is imho a stupid thing, they must think it makes it a more track focused Car.
      As with all modern cars it's only a stalk and software upgrade, no complicated hardware.

  • @DarkCrusader157
    @DarkCrusader157 3 года назад +1

    I agree, nothing majorly spectacular upgrades wise. It does look better than the Anniversario version, bit neater, leaner, more edge?
    I think if Abarth really want to make a splash with this before the 500 Abarth ceases production, then they need to do like what happened back in the day when they launched the Punto Mk2 HGT and put a ballsy engine in the Abarth like a 1.8 instead of a 1.4 or even a 1.6! and stop things like the Fiesta and Yaris kicking it’s butt! I know Abarth have emissions regulations to work with, however they could get away with offering a simple upgrade kit to complement the existing engine which would’ve been tweaked already at the factory. The kit could comprise of an exhaust, a chip or replacement ECU and sport springs and upgraded brake kit? Then it’s be up to the owner if they wish to take the risk with the emissions in their region? Orrr they could offer a higher spec engine which is an optional extra and shipped SEPARATELY from the cars themselves customer pays for the upgrade and fitting of new engine?
    Just an idea!

    They could upgrade the engine, fix some issue like the high seat and make the care a little bit wider and longer to give it better handling. If they change those things, which is not so difficult, they could sell so much more

    • @MrSimon1909

      they also need to work on the price. the car costs 11 000€ more than a hyundai i20n which is a far superior car.

    • @nicklisoire
      @nicklisoire Год назад

      Yeah right! If you said 'im off for a drive in my Abarth people would think....cool, that's a car with real character. If you said im off for a drive in my Hyundai people would assume, ah he must be off to the library or perhaps he's off to buy some new sandals. The two cars are worlds apart. The Hyundai suggests you vote for the Liberal Democrats and sport a brown cardigan. The Abarth suggests you can run the London marathon while consuming 15 pints of lager and 20 Marlboro red, and then go out clubbing all night.

    Just seems that Abarth are just trying to eek out the 500 before they really have got ta change It's getting a bit long in the tooth now And the 1.4 t-jet is ready for an update They could even add a decent electric motor to it To bring it up to date I'm a lifelong Àbarth fan from when i worked for Fiat in 70s So Abarth let's get new exciting stuff on the table Sorry ......
    I'm ranting lol 😂

    • @MrMarkeboy1234
      @MrMarkeboy1234 3 года назад +1

      No please don’t say the word electric. I for one will be holding off to the bitter end with petrol. I don’t want a silent ufo sounding car that will probably use telematics and reports the driver for going too fast. They could do some subtle changes like drop an eyebrow on the bonnet and add some vents. Maybe even flair out the front an back wings and get the wheels to extend a lot further outwards. I love the current shape, it’s extremely similar to the very old original model, which I love and that’s a big part of its historical Heritage.

    But it's nothing really new. Just another special edition.

  • @snowman2050
    @snowman2050 3 года назад +1

    as a 695 70th owner its disappointing to see this, as the interior features should of been on that model and not saved for this. The comp now has access to the body kit and a gorgeous alcantara interior the new esseesse now has the same exterior look with the spoiler and the much better interior.
    I can't see how the 70th will now stand out as a true special edition as it once was, the look took it to the same league as a biposto in exclusivity but that has now been lost, which is such a shame.

    Thank you for info, Stef. If Abarth is listening, I'd suggest they increase the horsepower and add a sixth gear. And, since I'm shooting for the moon, I'd love to see an all-wheel drive model, like the Toyota GR Yaris. I really like these cars. But, I feel like I see the same thing over and over again, just in a different skin. If Abarth would add these upgrades and offer them as special orders, here in the USA, then I'm confident they'd sell. There's just nothing like these, in America - except for the 2019s. And, those are becoming scarce. We need the new ones, here.

  • @hansson-craft
    @hansson-craft 3 года назад

    Based on the scalable EMD solutions, for STLA small, power wil range from 70-180 kW, 125-180 kW is planned for the top of STLA small.
    The 500e has 70 kW and 87 kW, Abarth versions could get every thing between 125 kW up to 180 kW.
    2024 does not mean that a Abarth EV will be introduced then, it mean ICE Abarth will no longer available after 2024.
    A Abarth EV will be introduced before that, probably 2023.

  • @Gentleman...Driver
    @Gentleman...Driver 3 года назад

    Innovation is expensive and unneccessary if your small customer range is buying it anyway. Thing is because of emission regulations they wont do any big update on this car. I think its the last "facelift" of these models, and the next one will either be hybrid or full electric, or they will do something entirely different or nothing at all.
