My wife has been driving a fiat 500 for about 3 years. She has liked the car, but it’s too sluggish. After watching your videos over recent years I felt convinced that she would like an Abarth. We now have a 595c competizione on order (& yes, it’s a manual)! Thanks so much Stef!!😜
There was a glut of hot hatches back in the day. Metro turbo, Renault 5 turbo, Fiesta XR2, Escort XR3 (moving up in size). I wanted the Renault 5 turbo but could only afford the XR2. Fond memories until I wrote it off - not pleasant!! Went sensible after that and eventually got a bit sportier with a series of MGF’s. Did some fantastic road trips in these - Corsica, Sardinia, Italy. Finally bought myself a Comp convertible this October and everything Stef says about this car is spot on. I deliver cars for a living, so have driven literally everything and so I know how competent they all are to the point of being anaemic. Characterless modern marvels. Not the Abarth. It really is a modern reinterpretation of something like the Renault 5 turbo. It’s quite small (great) and the interior is basic but smart and very chic. Gearbox is brilliant. Styling is fantastic. When we get out of this Corona phase I’m off to the Dolomites, top down, sport mode and the wife yelling at me “It’s too loud, I don’t like that”, with me replying “What’s that? Works fine for me dear!”
I'm a huge huuuge Rally fan so that rear spoiler is soooo Delta Integrale Evo like that my fondness of the Abarth just skyrockets! Obviously the GR GT FOUR is a proper homologated rally car, but if I would order one now.. I'd be surprised I'd have one when the year is over. I always liked the Abarths though, my previous girlfriend had a vanilla 500 and that little thing was perfect for city driving. So long story short.. There are a couple of anniversario for sale near me.. And Stef has me hooked with his proper love with these cars and the community that he sold me one of those! ❤️ Thanks for your video's man!!
What a great review about the Abarth 695! I cannot agree more with you: it's such a fun car. It's not comfortable, it doesn't have the last infotainment system, but the Abarth has something that very few cars have nowadays: character! And for such a small car it is incredibly stable, at any speed. I have an Abarth 695 biposto, and previously I have own an Abarth 595 Turismo.
In the trunk, in the floor, there is a flap in the carpet towards the rear. Fold that underneat the carpet! The car sounds really epic when doing that!!! 😍😍😍

Nice vid stef, got me 595 comp in March first lockdown, and luckily only got pulled over once for letting her RIP. I blamed it on covid and they were cool. Thank u met x
Great video and great cars! So many people don't understand them. It's a car where the spec sheet is irrelevant, its just about pure fun. Don't think I'll ever sell my 595 Comp.
I’ve put a switch with remote control to operate my monza valve. Best £10 I’ve spent, also I wish they swapped the 500 with 595 on the dash. But yes they’re mega fun
Another great video stef I owned a 595 comp they do drive nice there’s no doubt about that but when the new model comes out they need to up the game no silly boost gauge no 500 logo on the dash and seats with a bit more lumbar support I personally love the Xsr model the best
Always watch your vids m8 how have u not got more views and more subcribers , so much better that alot of the rest on youtube, keep up the good work m8
I had a 1990 Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider blue it was putting out 170 bhp with mods and it weighed less than the Abarth . Loved that car it was mental wish I still had it 😢 . I want a comp 180 as it will probably be the closest car to that 5 GT
Great video, yeah the price on this is a problem. I loved my go in the Comp and was a toss up between that and the cooper S second hand. I went for the Mini on build quality but do love these 595 and 695 :)
Stef, Love your content and would love to join you guys on an outing someday.. I can vouch for Abarth, always owned fast VW's and Audi in the past which was fun. Bought my wife a 2019 Esseesse and have to say its slightly uncomfortable as i am 6'3 and weigh 19 st BUT and it's a BIG BUT .... iI really love driving this car! cant wait for the wife to get home from work so i can take it out. Its like an extension of myself, feels like im wearing a roller skate. FUN FUN FUN and the looks it gets is crazy.
This was spot on...I've had all the "powered by fairy dust" jokes poked at me however as you rightly say..try one...go cart..smile inducing..quick....no car I've owned(and I've owned lot's ) has given me the grin factor my abarth has...in the twistys its in it's element..then again on the motorway I may or may not have had mine showing over double the speed limit..they are no joke especially with 180+ bhp...the seating position isn't up to(for example) ford standards and takes a bit of getting used to imho...a real plus point to add is if you are on an eco run-take it out of sport mode and effectively it's a 1.4 offering good economy ..to sum up,it's like they say about the original mini.. own,or at least try one before passing judgement ..
Love your vids Stef! Inc this one.. but can’t get my head round £34k for a FIAT, let alone a 500!!.. Mini JCW or GP3 for me ..👍🏻 keep up the great videos. Your camera work is the best out of my fave 3 tubers... joe, ped & u!😎
YEAH LOVES these super fast videos !!!! not miserable when you have 695 reasons to be so happy ...put more petrol and get the clothes in the boot and lets go !!!
I really gotta change my tyres... My P Zero are getting old and they skid on wet up to 4th if I dump the gas xD. Does that one come with Michelin? *great video as always btw Stef!
5:09 Not waving or flashing at a fellow 500/595/695 driver?!! Now I'm disappointed!! (Joking, I am, of course. But I make sure I wave/flash at *every single one* I see. 70% of the time they think I'm lunatic though...)
You tell the haters Stef lol 😂 🦂 power. Totally agree until you have driven one you won’t get it. The moment I test drove a comp bought one straight away 👍🏻
Having owned 2x 5GT Turbos (not 5 turbos - they are mid engined!) I do hope these are the closest modern equivalent. Also I’m happy to sacrifice 200kg for modern safety and actual build quality. 5 GT Turbos are probably the most fragile car of the 80’s!
I dont think its a “high reving engine” don’t most people shift them at around 6000rpm and what’s the redline on these 6300-6400?? Not hating it’s just most people consider high reving from 7500rpm and up
Remember one thing the Renault turbo didn't have all the driver add on like the Abarth has to make you look a good driver ,it was down to good driving and design of the Renault so in a way there is no comparison, I can remember when the Renault 5 turbo was brand new and I have driven both the Abarth (OK maybe not the model in your video but a 595 I use to own till it was stolen ) you may of had a go in a 5 Turbo but I dont think your old enough Stepf to remember when they was about everywhere and we had a the tuning company's for them, some of those old R5 Turbo would have left this Abarth in their dust and I'm not anti Abarth either I like them.
Depends on the size of said adults, as well as how far back the front people slide their seats. They'll all have to be under 6' (or more like 5'10) if I'm honest.

Comparison to the Renault 5 Turbo is huge - I need to have a go in one of these to confirm!
🙌🙌🙌
Best modern day 1.4 hatch back you’ll drive

We have a 595 Turismo as my wifes car. Sooo much fun. We're both nearly 70!! I understand exactly what you're saying about the fun factor.
Amazing! Great fun and so pleased you are enjoying driving it
Our 595 Turismo is my wife`s daily and my toy.. We are both 55 but when I drive it I`m 17 again.. Sooooo much fun. Awesome little pocket rocket
You’re the only english speaking youtuber who pronounces Italian car names the way they should be. ✌️
Perhaps it is because he has a soul or italian ancestry.
Mums Italian so that helps with pronunciation 😂
What a great review about the Abarth 695!

Love the biposto. Hold on to that one 👏
Great video! These cars are so underrated.
🙌
Hi Stef, I had the pleasure of owning an R5 turbo back in 2001 and I 100% agree!! 😀
Brilliant cars and plenty of character like the Abarth
In the trunk, in the floor, there is a flap in the carpet towards the rear. Fold that underneat the carpet! The car sounds really epic when doing that!!! 😍😍😍
Spot on!
Just hit 60k in our Comp, Still absolutely love it!
So so much character, hilarious little feisty Italian!
Super fun aren’t they :)
A mate of mine has one and loves it to bits. This is his 5th Abarth in either 595 or 695 guise..👍👍

Great vid Stef, as always. And yes, looking forward to 2021 with hopefully some great Abarth meetings !!
🙌🙌
I love watching your reviews for Abarth. They are quite.....fun.
I’ve put a switch with remote control to operate my monza valve. Best £10 I’ve spent, also I wish they swapped the 500 with 595 on the dash. But yes they’re mega fun
Yep still don’t know why they didn’t do that
Another fantastic video... I’m ordering a Turismo this month thanks to this channel... can’t wait!
Thank you!
@@StefABtv in your opinion how much faster does a Turismo feel behind the wheel vs the entry level 145? Any feedback would be much appreciated 👍
i drive my biposto as a daily and i love it! these little rockets are more fun than everything i‘ve ever driven!
i will never ever get another car ! 🙏
Thx for this vid again Stef and keep up the good work 🍀

Havent watched in a while but congrats on the weight loss! You look great stef
Yo keep up the good work dude I enjoy it

Good review Stef 👍 Really enjoyed your content with this car 😀 My brother’s brother-in-law had an R5 Turbo back in the day - what a car that was 😍
I had a 1990 Renault 5 GT Turbo Raider blue it was putting out 170 bhp with mods and it weighed less than the Abarth . Loved that car it was mental wish I still had it 😢 . I want a comp 180 as it will probably be the closest car to that 5 GT

Great item as usual thanks 😊
Thanks
Agree 100% Stef mate . It is as close to driving an R5 GT Turbo as you can get but without the overheating issues 🥴🤷🏼♂️😂
Love the design of these Fiats I wish they d be more popular here in the US

Lol fairy dust. Abarth owners have heard them all 😂
I definitely want one of these again at some point! Would love to own the original 500 🚙 ❤️ 🇮🇹
The reason everything is green around you instead of a miserable desert is because there is this what some refer to as a “miserable day” ..

not miserable when you have 695 reasons to be so happy ...put more petrol and get the clothes in the boot and lets go !!!
Another great video Stef. I have a 585 comp and isn't it really grippy in the rain? Much better than many other small powerful fwd hatches.
Front wheel drive isn’t grippy in the rain lol nor is rwd 😂
Been trying to find that Monza green colour code for quite some time...
I really gotta change my tyres... My P Zero are getting old and they skid on wet up to 4th if I dump the gas xD. Does that one come with Michelin? *great video as always btw Stef!

I love the Abarth 595/695, how would you compare these with my current R56 Mini JCW? BTW, love you channel.
Why would you want it to give it back bello.... Abarth a little wolf in sheep’s clothing. 👌🇮🇹💙
Love the car, really can’t get into the colour though. The tiny puppy is now a man! Here’s to 2021 👊
I love my Abarth turismo 70 v

For the same price it's game set and match to the GR Yaris. ( and I love the 595)
It’s well over price and a cheap build compared to the Yaris GR. Common as muck now too.
It is a freeking toyota yaris for gods sake!🙄

Get that 400bhp Punto on here!
