Have to agree with this one. I bought a brand new 595 Competizione manual in October of 2021. Was the WORST experience buying a car (my 28th) in my 25 years of driving. Bought 2 new cars from the same dealer since 2017 and they were disgustingly horrible. But that aside, I LOVE it. Had to have a manual, standard seats (didn't like the Sabelts), same wheels as on this one, and aluminium antenna plate. Def didn't want the "automated manual", moon roof, or a Convertible. It's great to drive. Super fun, decently quick, amazing sounding, decent room (175cm tall), but very much a typical Italian car. Can run rough, is extremely bumpy over bumps, tight pedal layout, Def recommend some Tods to take it for a spin (makes a huge difference), no cruise, but still worth the $40k for a toy. Don't get why the whinging by so many for not having a rear camera, it's so small you don't even need sensors, but then again I got my licence at 15 in 1996 lol. Build quality is odd. Doors shut with a thud, yet the door panels inside are just hard plastic. Small cupholders, no place for your phone; even in the door it will fly to the rear of the door out of reach. Dash is decently put together, wheel is amazing carbon fibre and Alcantara. Love the Alcantara on the gauge hood as well. Sadly mine didn't have the option of the Alcantara dash. Hard to remember to lock though, as all cars I've had for years you just walk off and it locks. Tons of aftermarket things for every taste. Really the only downside (to some, but I was taught in a different era about oil change intervals and such) maintenance costs. Spark plug change at two years, timing belt (belt, water pump et cetera) at 4.....it's like cars used to be, so no issue for me, but many won't like that. If you aren't prepared to spend money to keep it running, walk away, not the car for you. Great review!!
they're great. even the older ones still hold up. so you can actually get the older ones for far less money because they drop in value quite fast and still have that thrill. I had a go in a 2012 one which still blew me away lol such a little monster. also I think the modification market for these is good.
For those that love it, to each their own and I respect that so don't take this the wrong way. But personally, I drove one and hated it. It's slow, the steering is unprecise, the gear shift is like mixing cream it is so bad and it rides harsh but doesn't handle well. And, it's way too expensive for that inside. The trims and finish is soooooo crap with cheap plastic everywhere. I don't get the hype for these things. And you look like you're trying to hard to be cool when you drive it but every car guy makes fun of you. Driving it I feel like I’m sitting on a stool and the steering wheel is never correctly placed.
Because they are. I own one and it's really just an economy car with a turbo bolted on but there's just something about it that makes you smile. It's cute but angry. It just wants to go, wants to be thrown into corners, the occasional pops from the exhaust... You can't help but love the thing.
How the hell you know I am watching your video while sitting on the toilet, you watching me through my iPad’s camera? Lol 😂, anyway I just picked up a 2013 abarth today, I like the euro version tail light, the us version I have sucks,it looks ugly, someday I will do the conversion.

They cost more in the states, I payed $32K for mine in 2019 fully loaded. We don't get Brembos and it's just called the 500. They killed the car that year as well because I was one of the very few to buy one. We get keyless entry and an alarm here. Thankfully we didn't get the quad tip exhaust poking out of a round bumper cut out, manufacturers can't get away with that, not for half the price, how embarrassing for Fiat. This is the only car they made that Americans bought, I couldn't think of a worse car company on the planet. Even the 124 is just a Miata so people bought those instead. Fiat won't last the decade, not if they killed their only good car with a 90" wheelbase. Enjoy the electric version, Americans don't want them, that's for sure. Fiat really shot themselves in the foot with that one.
I'm an American who lives in Australia......what BS lol. Your Fiat "Abarth" didn't cost remotely close to $32k USD, a 2019 MSRP'd for ~$22,000 USD, and options didn't not add $10k, every option you could add increased that price to ~$25k USD. Maybe with the loan you took out you ended up paying $10k in interest, lol. But they never, ever sold for that in the US. Boggles the mind the fantasies people make up in their own realities. Or it's just that they legalised pot and now everyone in the US does nothing more than smoke pot 24/7 and just smoking too much lol. Just too funny 😅😅
The world is more that just the US market. In fact US marker is likely nothing compare to Asian market. Also Fiat makes commercial vehicles, so worst case the Fiat can pull a Ford
@@ddjohnson9717 The world is more, yes but we drive the entire market and have the most of them. If you mean China, it isn't, many people do not drive there and I'm pretty sure commercial vehicles from Fiat will not be seen in Shang Hai any time soon. As far as sports cars go, Dubai is the only place that comes close. Fiat has the Euro market and that is all and their big success is the car they just killed. They will be pulling out of NA in the next 3 years or so and this Abarth will be my last Fiat.
@@ChrisRogersTheAngryChef Bro You do know India is an Asian country too right? Not forget Vietnam too. Those countries need small delivery vans once their current generation bike riding deliver dies off. When you say "Fiat won't last the decade, not if they killed their only good car with a 90" wheelbase. " that's really not an accurate statement
dude, India is nothing but mopeds and old vehicles. Sorry, reality states that the US drives the world transportation market. I know you hate our country and all but that's just reality.
One of the things I dislike the most about modern cars is that they cost a fortune because there's a million pieces of tech that it doesn't need. I drive cars because I enjoy driving. This car has CarPlay, it has an easy to set climate control system, and it's got enough space for two weeks of groceries for a family of 4. What more do you need? I've not even heard anyone run into insane problems with one, the engines in these little buggers seem to be pretty good. Just about three only thing I'd lament the loss of is rear/all wheel drive. For a fun daily, it's not really missing much.
5 ncap stars in 2009 for the base fiat 500 1.2. In 2017 it scored 3 stars, mostly due to non existing driving assist things. This is the abarth version, more rigid chasis. I would say a light hit and you are alive and well.

I thought aussies have to wear face masks when they drive lol
Abarth fails on the tech and displays, plus modern features most cars have but they don't.
That being said, I'd love to have one.
What tech????
What features?
One of the things I dislike the most about modern cars is that they cost a fortune because there's a million pieces of tech that it doesn't need.
I drive cars because I enjoy driving. This car has CarPlay, it has an easy to set climate control system, and it's got enough space for two weeks of groceries for a family of 4. What more do you need?
I've not even heard anyone run into insane problems with one, the engines in these little buggers seem to be pretty good.
Just about three only thing I'd lament the loss of is rear/all wheel drive.
For a fun daily, it's not really missing much.
Not that I’d want a I20N but I’d prefer a i20N for what? 8k less than that
i20N is a better car objectively, no doubt
Why do you say it's bad?
you're missing the point
Three things wrong with the Abarth: 1. It's a small piece of shit 2. A light hit and you're dead 3. Made in Italy
Full of character rather than most of the bland generic stuff on the roads nowadays
Made in Poland actually.
5 ncap stars in 2009 for the base fiat 500 1.2. In 2017 it scored 3 stars, mostly due to non existing driving assist things. This is the abarth version, more rigid chasis. I would say a light hit and you are alive and well.
@15:44 You don't sound British but drive on the wrong side of the road, too, so you either are "Aussiesome" or "Kiwisome," right? 😊
Australian!
I am really interested in an Abarth but i could only take three minutes of this irrelevant drivel
Yes you're fat, but we love you ❤
This guy doesnt know how to launch
Your 150 kg .
What’s the point of this comment? Way to defeat a person’s feeling. He is entertaining to watch if you feel the need to be judgemental switch channels. Matt you do a great job fk the haters.
