Upgrading to off road tires on 23 Honda Pilot TrailSport

- I really enjoyed the HPD wheels with my 2021 Honda Ridgeline, so I kept them when I sold the truck. I tested them out on the new 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport and I think they really enhance the rugged look of the SUV.
The tires are BF Goodrich KO2's in OEM sizing 265/60 18

Oufff those rims look amazing 😍 takes it to a whole new level
Thanks man
Looks sick broooo
I think some lift with such tires would be great 👍👍👍
Would love to see you off-road with those tires, bro!
I do have some off-roading videos with them on the channel 👍🏻
Looks tight👍🏻👍🏻 I have the same Pilot in Silver👍🏻👍🏻
Nice 👍
It look better then the original . Thank u upgrade look better than 4runner if more bigger wheels .
Looks super sharp - nice!
nice ride. the only con i see is the large slots in the grille will allow leaves to pass through and clog the A/C condenser. after arriving at work, i saw a leave stuck to the grille on my 2019 Passport which has smaller (less stylish) slots. i noticed it has a better turning radius than a Ridgeline.
Looks very sharp
Im running LT245/70r17 Ko2s on my ‘18 pilot and they ride great and it feels more like a truck now but cotdamn they hum like crazy.
haha yeah, always a trade off, but I'm sure they are capable when you need the extra grip!
What is the range on trailsport when you fill up your tank? 450 miles?
330 or so
She’s looking badass
I know it’s a slight wider, but is there any issues with the tire rubbing or coming close to the inner fender liners? Thinking of rubbing issues on the trails while turning or bouncing. Thanks for the video!
Zero issues - but the TrailSport OEM tires are the same size, so there shouldn't be. When I had the Ridgeline; this was a +1 size so it would rub on that.
Beautiful, do you think those tires will fit the ELX? I mean the BFs?
What is an ELX?
Will these fit the bronze style wheels from Honda?
Yes. The wheels are all 18x8 and fit OE sized 265/60 tires
Wish I had the money to buy car after car and on top of it do non stop upgrades lol
New vehicles at that
I have a honda crossroad from japan. about the size of a crv. I want to put those tires on it. I currently have 225/70/16 but want to move up to 245/50/18 or 235/45/20. I actually have some 265/50/20s that fit the front with a bit of rub mostly in the rear of the front wheel well but just want to go down to about 235/50/20 which would be about 1.2 inches smaller and give me the clearance i need. problem i have with the rear wheels is that they are not centered in the wheel well. they are much closer to the front side than the back. is there a way to center your rear wheels so there's equal space or close to equal space in front and back of the tire?
Hows the ride and road noise compared to the stock tires?
You car looks badass.
Thanks! I’m surprised at how much sound deadening the TrailSport actually has. The road noise was less in the Pilot than the Ridgeline when I had them on the truck. There is some vs the stock AT tires but minimal
Do you still have the stock trail sport rims? Would you sell them?
I use them pretty often. I rotate between the HPD, OEM and Winter sets
How has your mpg been affected? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video, I didn't catch it
They actually didn’t affect the MPG negatively!
God bless you@@503pdxCars
Do you think 265/65/18 would have fit on there?
Hard to say. Might rub though
question... does it fit in where the spare wheel is? i also have a trailsport and wanting to get this rims too
also is there any rubbing?
The tire does since it’s an OEM size. I don’t know if the wheel itself will though. No rubbing
You could just swap new KO2 tires onto the stock Trailsport wheels, correct? Nothing would prohibit that, would it? I just bought a '24 Trailsport. Thanks!
You can.
Info the the front and back black piece? Have a black trailsport and it drives me insane!
Looking to buy a 2024 Diffused Sky Blue Pearl Ridgeline and put the 2023 HPD Black rims on. Don’t like the 2024 HPD rim. Plus black rims looks amazing with Sky blue paint
Same. I really like how the wheels look on this paint
Do you have a lift?
What do you have?
I agree with the ko2, I would use a 70 profile to gain height.
No lift yet
What happens with the TPMS? Does it automatically sync up or need to be programmed?
Auto sync!
hope you will be doing some hardcore off-roading with this one. I cant find one video on pilot off-roading. have a elite. Eventually will switch the rims and tire and will get skit plates of trail sport. badly needed the Bose audio system and some key features of Elite. lol I did google and it says Trail sport and Elite has the trail logic so I should be good there. Anything you know of that is only available for trail sport ? other than shocks, skid plate, hitch, tire and rim ?
Nothing yet! Really want some upgrades but nothing is out yet
@@503pdxCars for the long weekend I took mine to Daytona beach and went on 4x4 soft sand with stock Bridgestone tire... Man I was happy. I am sure with good tires this can go places :D Also the sand mode works really well. limited spin and very gingerly moving provided the driver has good throttle control. But on my previous pilot EXL that I traded after just 3 months in for the elite, I could never use the throttle gently... it always wanted to leap forward. :/ not sure if that is the trail logic in play...
I'm trying to find an AT tire with size 235/45/20. Do u know what brand would have that or if anyone makes that size at all? having trouble finding that size. I want the offroad look but not too much sidewall lol
I'd like at a trail version of the K02 or Wildpeaks
why did you decide to sell the ridgline for this pilot? was there anything you disliked about the truck?
No, there really wasn’t. I had a ridgeline for 6 years and was just ready for something new. Plus this had almost all the hardware upgrades I did for the ridgeline.. but from the factory so figured it would be worth the investment
Would these fit a 2022 pilot? And any recommendations for websites to go shopping around?
They should since that set up fit the Ridgeline which had a similar platform to that gen pilot. TireRack and Discount Tire are who I normally use when I’m not going through a dealer
I'm going to buy a Ridgeline and I'm trying to remember if you only lifted the front of yours. What do you recommend to raise the front? I would like to raise the whole truck a little.
Initially I just did the front but with all the weight in the back, and the rooftop tent, and the bed rack…. I did lift the rear too so in the end both were lifted. It’s personal preference. Initially the front was truxxx. In the end JSport. All brands are relatively similar though
Thank you
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
how is the breaking and handling on road with these tires ? I want to buy tires like this and get those 18 inch HRD rims but not sure about performance as I have never used these tires or never done off road with SUVs
I don’t notice any change in driving dynamics from the wheels and tires. The K02’s are louder and not as good on wet pavement but that’s it
Thanks man that helps
You think that conti tires 265/60/18 it won't rub in 2nd gen ridgeline.? Plan to get those tire in my 20 ridgeline with the oem rims.
Thanks.
Yeah there is some slight rubbing when reversing and full lock to the right, but that's all. It's minimal
I have a '23 RL, first thing I did was swap out the OEM tires to Conti Terrain Contact 265/60/18s (OEM rims), and I have zero rub in any condition (although only about a millimeter to spare at full lock). The fender wells have a little bit of flex and it could be that the position varies slightly by truck (and maybe if splash guards are installed and screws removed and reinstalled it moves just a tad). I bought the Continental tires specifically because multiple folks reported no rub on the various forums, but obviously results can vary. Other tires absolutely will rub without a doubt.
@@vinnylovesretro thanks for the info..
275/60/18 will fit with no rub? Thanks
I don't know, OEM size is 265/60 18
I love the KO2s!! Do you know if they’ll fit a 2022 Pilot trail sport?
I would imagine so! That platform was similar to the ridgeline, while they would rub slightly on full lock; they were fine.
I ended up buying the KO2s this weekend. I can definitely feel the weight lol but I love the look. No issues with rubbing however I noticed my steering wheel shakes on certain roads. I confirmed that they’re balanced properly. What PSi are you running them at?
@@petegonzalez9304 Lol at the weight. Interesting on the steering wheel - Mine is smooth and haven't had any issues there. I have them set at the OEM 35PSI right now, obviously lower when offroading.
Are those the terrain contact AT or HT? Plan on selling those oem Trailsport wheel and tire combo? I want them for my Ridgeline :)
Nah, I'm keeping them
Why isn’t the width of the tires mentioned in the video?
The numbers of the width?
OE size - 265/60 18
Nice. I’ve been looking at upgrades for my new 23 Trailsport. What is the biggest tire you can fit on the oem wheels / suspension? Are there any level/lift kits out yet?
Not sure on the tires; still waiting on lift kits from all of the normal brands. Hopefully soon!
How is the mpg gonna affect from this upgrade?
I’ve had no change in mpg
Sizes of the tires please?
265/60 18 - OEM sizes
What impact have you seen on mpg?
It hasn’t changed with the K02’s thankfully
tire model and size?
Assuming 265/60-18 as that's the stock size on the Trailsport Pilot and the typical upgrade size for the Ridgeline.
Yep! I’ve heard people putting larger sizes on their pilot already and they don’t rub which is promising. I’m happy with my KO2’s though
So those KO2s are oem tire size? Not oversized? Just different wheel offset ?
Hi. Can fit 25 offset rims 18/ 9 wide
I do not know
Selling TS rims?
No; I’m not.
I was wondering the same thing. Lol
How do you like the car so far?
Or i should say SUV
I’m really glad I made the switch. So far I’m enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. Next month is a really big off-road adventure so I’ll have a better idea then
Need more bigger
Too bad you didn’t plus size the tire diameter…
Already had these. If I was starting fresh I would have upsized a bit
👌
