    Could also be a dirty ground. Before you replace the control module, check for a clean ground. It might save you some money.

    • @B1G5L1M
      @B1G5L1M 4 года назад +13

      The ground for the module is on the frame opposite to the abs module beneath the driver door-there should be about three wires, the heavier gauge wire is the module ground. You'll want to gingerly remove the bolt and clean up the surrounding area and the wire terminal ends with a wire brush or the like. When you put it back together use a dab of dielectric grease to ensure a good connection and to dispel water.

    • @adamhodge7887

      I have 268 as well, I think it is the control valve / pump bad or going bad, you can get an autel bluetooth reader that works with your phone on amazon if you don't have one already and you can clear the codes and do an auto bleed, listed to see if your pump/valve kicks on. They say to check grounds under drivers seat on the frame, mine were fine. I will replace abs control valve / pump and let you know, but it may not be for a few weeks

    Hold up!! before pulling that module out try this. Wiggle the power connector to the module. the one shown here with the red seal around the plug. By accident I found that by moving the plug I could make the ABS and Brake lights come on or go off. Probably some corrosion on the terminals. I slightly bent the male lugs so they would make better contact when the plug is reconnected. It's been awhile and both lights are still off. Probably a good idea to check the grounds too.

      The truck will run and drive fine without the module. However we do not recommend you drive without the module because you will have no anti-lock brakes.

      We charge about $120 for repair and removal and installation. Most shops will not repair the unit they will get a replacement.

    When 3 out 4 of the T20s strip just cut your losses and remove the annoying bulbs...... Anti lock brakes system won't work any better but you can just pretend they are fixed lol

    • @elmauro86
      @elmauro86 3 года назад +1

      It is easier to just remove the ABS fuse and both bulbs will turn off. And the brake one will still work as indicator for Parking Brake.
      Also easier to change the module altogether with one from the junkyard. Just a little messy when removing/reattaching brake lines.

    I have the same code but sometimes when I’m applying my brakes my rear wheels lock up, and I don’t brake that hard. It happens every so often, does anyone know if replacing the module will stop this ? I have a 2003 gmc Sonomas S-10 model SLS.
