  • I promised followers of the channel an Easy Walk video of Padley Gorge after first visiting it and being blown away by the colours and shape of the area.
    This walk through what at first glance may seem a somewhat dull winter scene reveals just how wonderful Padley can be in the most challenging season.
    Later this year I promise to walk the Gorge again, in the Autumn, and you can have your senses blown too.

    A few years ago I went to 'Surprise View' and was looking on the map and notice a waterfall not far from there, looing at on the computer this might have been the place I intended to visit.

    A very honest view of this location, yes there are certain parts that are not easy where you can slide down on your back side and end up with a waterfall in front of you. But sticking to the main paths gives you a very enjoyable easy walk.

    Magic place Edd, just re-watched this before sharing for my mates, I was up there on Tues this week some Nuppty and his wife and kids had lit a fire just at the bridge on the edge of the overhang. panicking how to put it out . Some pond life out there

      Absolutely one of the best places I've been too. Accessible, beautiful. Shame about the spectacle of people not playing ball with keep the place safe and tidy. You have to visit it in the autumn. Rest assured I'll be creating new vlogs there through this year.
      Also, not far from here is Wyming Wood. Well worth a visit.

    If you go in the same entrance and turn left and walk about 50-100 metres and head left into the wooded area up towards the road there is a large millstone up against an oak tree. Or pass the entrance - walk down the road looking over the wall -there is a big drop the first place where you can climb over the wall you will get to. Its a secret so don't tell anyone. Iv'e never seen a photo of it. Best taken when the foxgloves are flowering.

    A lovely walk through the Woodlands . You can’t get lost . I have been on many walks in Australia from easy to moderate. Sometimes you have to walk up many steps such as The Grand Canyon loop at the Blue Mountains . I felt tired towards the end but it was very pretty . My next adventure will be at Colo river at Wollemi National Park . This is true raw wilderness but I want to join a bush walking group to do this one . I like to visit the Peaks District . It is simple , pretty and not so strenuous walk . Thank you for this lovely video !

    • @EddieSkelson
      @EddieSkelson  3 месяца назад

      There are occasional sheep wandering on the outside, also deer are situated there, however I do see lots of people walking dogs. So long as your friend is leashed or properly responsive to your call I’m sure you’ll be fine.

    Title reads “easy walks” not sure how easy it is by the looks of the video 🤣

    • @EddieSkelson
      @EddieSkelson  Год назад +1

      It's definitely down to your level of fitness but it also refers to ease of access to the places I visit. You can literally park next to Padley Gorge at either end and just stroll along the defined pathway until you feel the going is a bit too rough. You would still encounter the incredible trees, the brook and much of what makes it worth the trip.
      I'm unfit. I'm overweight, 56 years old, dodgy knees and have issues breathing when exerting even mildly because I'm a tub of lard, so I would never recommend these walks to people whose ability is hampered by my sorry state of affairs coupled with any extra disadvantages, such as a disability that would affect their balance, anything that affects stamina, and of course if you have a fear of squirrels these places are no go...
      So, 'easy' is always going to conditional.
      BUT! Do consider them. If you do have health or fitness concerns at least stepping a toe into nature can be beneficial for many. I'm not saying climb Everest, but maybe take a chair and sit on the edge of a great forest, accessible from a road. It's LOVELY! (bring snacks)
