  • Shoplifter Goes on a $2100 Stealing Spree at MULTIPLE Walmarts
@Crimebustersnetwork obtained body cam footage of a retail theft investigation. Upon arriving, officers received information that the suspect was previously banned from another Walmart for retail theft. The man reportedly stole over $2100 from multiple Walmarts in the area. Loss prevention employees were able to hold the suspect until officers arrived.
*This obtained video is NOT intended to be violent, nor glorify violence or any other crime. This video is not meant to dismiss or poke fun at anyone experiencing mental illness. We are sharing this footage strictly for the purposes of news reporting, education and crime prevention. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

If he stole $2100 worth of goods, then I think we know what he does for a living. Obviously he sells it to make money. He needs some jail time to help him see the wrong of his ways. Instead the prosecutors and judge will slap him on the wrist with probation for a few months and ask him to pay the Walmart back, which will never happen. Obviously being trespassed from Walmart hasn't stopped him yet. Once again, we get more of what we tolerate.

The extra we pay for merchandise because of thieves is nothing compared to cost of incarceration. In NewYork state that cost of incarcerating one person for one year is $115,000. That to me is a bigger issue. In NewYork city that cost is $555,000, which is verifiable thru Google. Over half million dollars per inmate per year of incarceration in NYC How is that justifiable?

I thought the Officer nearly fell for his "the voices tell me to steal" scam. If they searched his house it would be like a thieves den - and that would only be the stuff he hasn't sold. 😕😠

Really? Hearing voices telling him to steal and apparently he hears these voices quite often with all of the stealing he's been doing. I don't buy it though, I mean obviously it's possible some people with mental illness do hear voices and I'm sure that's possible, I'm just not buying it in this man situation. My personal opinion

Yes. I was in court a white man stole $5000 worth of equipment from a concert business and he was let go because of "mental illness" so it works for some people

@@JessicaJones-np8pj well that's just terrible! It seems to me that the judge had a mental illness, for letting him go so easy. So how does that get your $5000 or equipment back? That's just terrible!

Hearing demons telling him to steal? That's the same as saying that the devil made him do it, in which case he's a flat out liar and mainly just a thief. Honestly, dude better watch what he says before he conjurs something he can't get rid of so easily.

How much time would someone get for stealing something like a Nintendo Switch that is worth a few hundred dollars? Like they ask an employee to get one for them from the locked case, then when it is in their hands they run with it and try to exit but are stopped by asset protection and held for the police and the item is recovered.

This is one reason why prices are so high & businesses are going out of business. We need to enforce stricter laws, maybe then we may get some positive results, it makes me sick…

People have been stealing since the beginning of commerce. This has nothing to do with those issues. If no one stole, the prices would still keep rising and businesses would still go out of business.

It'll be interesting to see if he has true medical supported documentation for his "mental disorder" that tells him to steal. I'm calling bull on that excuse. We've all seen videos of other young and elderly people who use that excuse.

I don’t normally feel sorry for people that are shoplifting. They choose to do it so they get the consequences. Especially when they want to fight and cuss the police out when they’re only doing their jobs. But this man it’s like I feel so sorry for him. He’s so soft-spoken and easy-going. And he has been completely honest with everything. I know people are gonna come at me with all kinds of negative remarks but guess what I don’t care.

Reminds me of the Crime Figure in NYC known as
Vinny the Chin. In an attempt to avoid interaction

wearing pajamas and a bath robe and mumbling
to himself. In reality, he was just fine 😉

I know people have problems like that but this is the first case I ever saw stealing because voices make me do it.Thank you to all the officers for your services and stay safe out there 💙.
