    I have recommended your videos to my son and brother. You endured some harsh conditions the past 3 weeks and with all that hard work you put in to finally harvest a deer! I have spent long hours in the stand without seeing a thing but not under the conditions you had. Then to get rewarded by seeing all those bucks after your harvest, awesome!. I also enjoy your cooking and the meals you throw together.

    New subscriber, and I really enjoy your content. If someone told me I would watch an hour long video of a guy stoking a fire, making meals, walking around in the snow, and fastidiously cleaning a well-appointed tent, mostly silently, I would've thought they were crazy. But now, having watched it, I have to say it's really interesting, relaxing, and strangely compelling content. It's satisfying some lack I didn't even know I had. Thanks!

    I very much enjoyed the various videos.
    I am 79 years old and deer and turkey hunt in Kentucky and now mostly Tennessee.
    My wife also hunts.
    99.999999% of our hunts are snow free.
    We use buddy heaters when it’s cold, specially for my wife.
    I personally plant manually the food plots, etc., cut the shooting lanes, etc.
    Putting the manual labor aside ( heavy fertilizer bag hanging on my neck) we have it much much easier.
    One major hurdle is the temp warming up in the afternoon, we hardly ever can leave a deer hanging very long.
    Not uncommon to buy bagged ice to put in the cavity.
    Thank you for your honest videos...very interesting.

    Congratulations Joe on your Buck! I live in Quebec, Canada and I can really appreciate the weather conditions you endured to achieve your success. We just finished our deer season. I passed up a small 4 point on opening day in hopes of seeing something more mature in the waning days but no luck. So, it goes to say take the shot when it's there because you may not get to enjoy fresh venison heart as you did. Same goes with staying in camp during bad weather. Two good lessons we can all learn and keep with us even after over 50 years of deer hunting. Lol!

    I just stumbled my way on this video. Just wanted to tell you this is awesome. I'm 26 years old and my generation doesn't do this style of hunting. I had one "deer camp" where I shared camp with a bunch of my relatives and family friends and it's one of my favorite memories! This reminded me a lot of that and brought back those great memories! I hunt illinois and have killed a doe for meat and now I'm onto big buck hunting. I love hunting mature trophy Whitetail but I would trade that all in for a week of hunting and camping with family and friends! Flat out awesome stuff here and by the way your cabin is cool as hell!

    • @JoeandZachSurvival
      @JoeandZachSurvival  7 лет назад +2

      Thank you. I appreciate that. Perhaps you should make one of your goals to have a deer camp and then start the tradition again. The Tent property is only 10 acres but it is surrounded on all sides by the Superior National Forest which is 3.9 million acres of federal land that is open to the public for hunting. Thanks again Joe. Joe

    I'm going to go through withdrawal, no Tent video's until Jan or Feb. Glad you got a deer. Have to laugh, shooting your deer and then the other bucks move through reminds me of catching a pike and then having a big muskie follow to the boat without striking. Such are the fortunes of an Outdoor's Man.
    Was watching old Tent video's today while waiting for this one and I noticed that your quality has improved from back when you started. Both audio and video quality is much better now. I don't know what you use for cameras and mic's but they're better. Just thought I'd mention it.

    Joe, I watched the new Fantastic Finale three minutes after posting! What a nice surprise ending. I enjoyed the kids, silly as mine, the dinners, and the birds. I really appreciate your dedication to the fans of your channel. You have made my last 3 weeks go very fast. Such great entertainment! Thank you, Joe and family. Have a Happy Thanksgiving in LA, safe travels. Mathbrown73

    Nice that you get your deer. Congrats. Patience and persistence pays off. Wish at least one of your kids could have been with you. Glad you have that stove. I live about an hour from where it was made. Great stoves! Keep up the great work. Any ice fishing for your January trip?

      I usually do not ice fish that lake. The ice gets over 4 feet thick. Usually we ice fish down here closer to the house.

    Joe: Thanks for the videos. I know its a lot of time and effort putting all that together. You did a very good job. RUclips is my television and your tent videos are some of my favorites. Over the past two weeks I really looked forward to the deer videos. I also appreciate the fact that there isn't any foul language. Happy Thanksgiving.

    Thanks, Joe! I've really enjoyed following you on your deer hunting escapades!! I'm so glad you were finally able to get one. (No such luck for friends I have in the upper part of South Carolina!!) All the cold, wind, & snow remind me of when I lived in Calgary, Alberta, Canada! I was only there for a couple years ... but I got to experience -40 degrees for a few days! Plugged in engine warmers at night ... start engines at lunch so they would start again when it was time to go home!! I miss the beauty, but not all of that!!! Take care! Looking forward to when you're back up in January!!

    Congrats on the nice buck Joe. We managed to fill 2 tags this year. Saw over 50 deer but they were almost all does and fawns. I saw a really big 8 pointer as I climbed into my stand one morning but it was 10 minutes before shooting hours and all I could do was watch him walk away. Oh well that's hunting for you. Tough weather all season but we always have a great time. Thanks for letting us share your adventures

      I could have but the law states that to party hunt the other hunters have to be "in the woods hunting" I did think about it but getting caught could have costed me my gun and truck and loss of hunting privileges for 3 years. It was not worth that. I like to keep it all legal.

      The way that deer was walking around so close to you it was like it knew you couldn't take a shot at it...

      Those deer were about the size of large squirrel...no worries with fish n game.

      It is the temptation like that to prove you are an honest law abiding hunter. But damn letting them walk past after all those hours sitting in a stand is hella hard to do. Proud of you sir.

      Jimmy Z I was thinking the samething he would have saved money and time by just going to a butcher and buying deer meat. what a shame all that time and effort, and money.

    I knew you would shoot a deer this year just like i said lol....Just when you thought it was a bad day to go out you see the most deer and all Bucks.A question for you Joe why do you not take the 4 wheeler or get a snowmobile to go up in the winter ? It would be much easier on you and you could do multiple trips in the winter...

    • @JoeandZachSurvival
      @JoeandZachSurvival  7 лет назад +2

      Most of my winter I spend in Louisiana with Melissa. I have 2 snowmobiles but I always figure it takes longer to load and unload them than it does to walk the ice. Someday I will bring one up and use it.
