I loved this episode. I like the design of the Underworld and Sally's actress crushed her scenes. She looked so sad and conflicted about the choices she was making 😔😔
I am shocked there’s no official s2 announcement yet with how successful the show seems to be (“seems” cos we never get official numbers just third-party estimates). These kids aren’t getting any younger so they really shoulda just have done a two-season plan to start, then assessed how s1 was doing and ordered s3 while filming s2 and kept repeating as the show went forward. But that would be thinking ahead about making a full product to sell which steaming companies apparently hate to do. It’s insane we used to get 20+ EP shows on a yearly basis and now we can barely get 8 eps every 2 years
the streaming industry is basically in free fall right now bc the studios have realised it doesn't make as much money as they thought it would a few years ago. getting season renewals is tough
Just so you know, I know that in the book the bolt only appeared in his backpack when he got to the Underworld. So I assume that's what happened here. Nowhere is safe for Percy, monsters will come after him no matter where he lives. For this show specifically, it takes a long time to film (10 months for S1) because the main characters are minors and can only work a certain amount of time.
Hades gives off the vibe of that one cool uncle lmao also, his stupid joke of "Can I get you anything? _some pomegranate juice?"_ lmao (if you don't know, one taste of the pomegranates of the underworld, you're stuck there forever. You can never return to the mortal world. That's how Persephone ended up his wife, aside from him kidnapping her. She ate several seeds of an underworld pomegranate (and apparently theyre _really_ enticing. Even in the books, Percy describes them as plump and blood red, with such a super potent, enticing scent that he felt an overwhelming desire to go over and pluck one). So he's basically offering "Hey you guys wanna be stuck here in the underworld? haha jk jk")
I love the portrayal of haydes, cuz most people think hes like the devil, really mean and evil but in reality (greek mythology) hes just a mellow dude that got a bad job in the underworld... like lucifer from the show lucifer "its a job, something that i was forced to do"
Here for the Black Sails love--it's legit one of the best TV shows to come out of the "Golden Age of Television" and it's criminally under-recognized. It's like if Game of Thrones got better and better each season and then stuck the landing.
Love the theories. Very interesting. Can't wait for the next episode and hopefully they announce Season 2 already (I know it's going to happen, they're just holding out on us). I will need the next season asap.

Next we get that fight with Ares, the conclusion of the quest, HOPEFULLY Sally disposing of Smelly Gabe and Percy's confrontation with the true Lightning Thief. All of the clues are there already to the Thief's true identity.

This episode was really good but I was really confused when hades said he didn’t want the bolt and wanted a helmet instead 😂😂 but I really wanted to know what was annabeth regret I hope Percy ask her about it
Each god has a Symbol of Power. Zeus' is the Master Bolt, Poseidon's is his Trident and Hades is his Helm of Darkness. The Lightning Thief stole both the Bolt and the Helm and pinned the theft on Poseidon. Hades explains in the book that he didn't tell anyone about the theft of his Helm because he didn't think that anyone would care enough to offer him justice for it and Hades believed that it would leave him too vulnerable to admit to having lost his Helm.
Percy's gonna be back to the Underworld in the future all right. There's Percy, Thalia and Nico versus Iapetus/Bob, Percy taking a dip in the River Styx and of course who could forget Percy and Annabeth's Tartarus Vacation???
