This winged shoes were being drawn to the pit -- which is Tartarus. The bolt didn't appear in the backpack until they were right at the edge of the pit. Kronos is trying to escape from there. While this show is not exactly like the books, the key plot points are all here. Not just of the first book, but of the book series. From the looks of it, the production team of the series is playing the long game. Introducing things now which may not pay off until season 5 or 6 or later.
24:00 : Sally is doing an offering to call Poseidon (remember Percy with the blue candies in episode 2 and Luke explanation) You have to burn something good.
I loved everything about this episode so much. Crusty was perfectly creepy and I kinda wish we got to see more of him but I think its understandable why we didnt spend too much time on it. The young Sally and Percy scenes destroyed me & I love how we got to see the difficulty of what it is like as a single person raising a demi-god child. In the books we don't really get to see that side of things although it would make a lot of sense. The scene with Poseidon was everything - idk whether you caught it but when Sally asks Poseidon whether he wanted to see Percy and we hear the thunder that's Zeus basically saying "time is up, you need to go" (I think of all the Gods Zeus is #1 bitch ass). The chemistry between him and Sally was so real, like they couldn't even look at each other because their feelings for each other are still strong and it would be trouble. In the books Poseidon even offered to build Sally a palace underwater but she refused. The underworld scenes were really well done. I love the dullness and lack of any colour that's there because it truly represents how there is an absense of life. Also, the three headed dog is Cerberus and he is the best of boys how dare you, he just wants head scratches and to play fetch that's all! I loved Hades and how this show doesn't portray him as some cartoon villian for no reason. I also loved that he didn't instantly ridicule Percy about Kronos but he actually listened to him and offered him sanctuary (admittedly he was in it for himself but even still lol.) The whole upside down aspect to Hade's palace kinda gave me Sandman vibes. Tbh I think Annabeth's regrets could be down to many things; maybe her relationship with her father (in the books they have a not so great relationship), Thalia sacrificing himself & being turned into a tree, or even the person that she used to be who's probably done things she's no longer proud of. Idk what it is but I think it's very intriguing and I hope they'll expand on it in future seasons. The way Percy really didn't want to leave her behind was so touching 😭I also loved her whole scene with Cereberus, she's a secret dog lover at heart haha, and the trick with the red ball was very well executed. It's funny to me how many reactors had the same response at Grover losing the pearl lmao. Poor satyr, it wasnt his fault :( We really got to see more of Grover and Percy's friendship and it's honestly so precious, theyre honestly such goofballs lol. That whole part when they realised the lightning bolt was in the bag but Grover was instantly all "HELL no" made me laugh so hard. Btw you were probably joking, but you shouldnt feel someways that the movies are your only knowledge of the series. Were they terrible? In my opinion yes, but they introduced people to this world, so 🤷♀ Next week is gonna be craaaazy that's for sure. I'm so looking forward to the Ares/Percy fight and the reveal/betrayal. I'm excited but also sad because no more Percy Jackson :( I might do a binge watch immediately after .
A little behind the scenes fact Walker accidentally hit the actor who plays Hades in ankle with his pearl. The pearls are actually a little spark bomb so it hurt when it hit his ankle.
29:00 About the differencies between the movies and the serie : In the movies : no Chronos, no Ares and Hades is the bad guy with Luke? In the book and the serie : Ares gave Percy a bag in which he teleported the bolt when the kids were closed enough to the Tatarus pit (where Chronos was thrown). I won't spoil the rest...

About the differencies between the movies and the serie :
