    Even brushing aside the Time Turner aging its user... Prisoner of Azkaban made it abundantly clear that Time Turners caused closed loops (causal loops) - not alternate timelines. There was never a timeline where Buckbeak died and Sirius failed to be freed, because the time travel itself was factored into it. There were always another Harry and Hermione performing the deed. So it also just makes no sense here.

      I think Time Turners can cause both. Harry and Hermione was very careful not to affect the regular flow of events, and impacted only those that had nothing to do with the regular flow, except maybe the Patronus by Harry, but since Harry assumed it was his father or something, it was good. If the time turner user doesn't respect the rules and go on to affect the regular flow of events, alternate timeline gets made.

      I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, we only ever saw what happens when time turners were used properly. Hermione warned us not to meddle, because terrible things happen to wizards who meddle with time. But we were never shown what this consequence might be. The creation of a parallel timeline where the user gets stuck might be the consequence. This is not a retcon, it’s new information.

    • @TheSdzfr
      @TheSdzfr 2 года назад +85

      YEah, I love that Morgan took it seriously instead of that joke which Austin did.
      Ron's a Smart man, he's not dumb. Besides Hermione loves him dearly.
      Harry respects McGonagall. Bloody hell she did everything for him, He loves her as a Granny.
      I think they were Watching Game of Thrones while writing Harry Potter, Hermione and Harry sex????
      They were trying to give HP a GoT touch.
      And if JKR considers this Idiocity as Canon then, she needs to be reminded of her old self, when she first wrote these novels.
      This isn't canon no matter what.
      However, there's one question in my head. If Harry said, "if you want to be Gryffindor, why don't you tell the hat", then how come Albus is still in Slytherin?
      In my own rewrite he's a Gryffindor, it meant a lot to him, so he's in the same house as his parents and brother, Lily Luna Potter on the other hand is a Ravenclaw.
      If I ever get my time, Albus will be a Gryffindor and he will make friends with Scorpius a Slytherin. Delphi and she alone will be the main villain. But, just like Voldy with a lot of supporters, Dark Wizards, Warewolves, Trolls and Giants.
      Time turners aren't completely Out, but they just go back only up to 5 hours, not 29 years, because they know when they return they'll age as much.
      Thus they fight Delphi while they go back in time but its just a few hours, like the Prizoner of Azkaban.
      The innocent bi-standards who die are, Amos and his Wife, they die at Delphi's hand in my version. Finally uniting with their son.
      But the House Diggory isn't extinct, they have many minor cousins, many nieces and nephews of Amos, but Delphi isn't one of them.
      And Delphi is a Hogwarts student sorted in Gryffindor.
      I like how Morgan made Delphi as Bellabitch and her husband's daughter. Voldy was Moldy, so he doesn't have sex.
      Dennis Creevey also plays an important role in my version as his brother died too. And that line "How many would die for you Harry?" would fit Him better than Amos, because even though Amos lost his son, Dennis and Collin almost worshipped Harry in their schooldays.
      Harry fights Draco. Strong duel.
      Draco apologizes to Hermione for everything, every form of bullying.
      Lucius is one of Delphi supporters, but he dies soon after his son and grandson disown him.
      Hannah declares Dennis as the Godfather of Neville and Hannah's twin daughters Augusta Pomona Longbottom and Alice Minerva Longbottom.
      Umbridge and Minerva duel takes place.
      Sprout, Flitwick and Slughorn get a headon action while they handle multiple dark witches each.
      "The Augaries" are equivalent to "The Death Eaters".
      Harry finally enters Hufflepuff common room as well. Lorcan and Lysander Scamander play a minor role. Thus we get to see Luna and Rolf as well.
      Delphi however recieves Dementor's kiss... Muah!!!!
      The only thing is how to make all this work together, I need time to craft this story.

The time period, the idea of Harry trying to live a normal life but being affected by the events of the original series, the dynamics between Harry and his family, especially Albus, Albus being in Slytherin, friendship between Albus and Scorpius, etc could have made such a great story. Delphi being Voldemort’s daughter fails in SO MANY LEVELS!
    First: you mentioned earlier, Voldemort saw himself at his peak of immortality, so an heir would be pointless.
    Second: he was unable to love, and thats canon. So why would he have sex?
    Third: Voldemort would consider sex, something so primal, carnal and human as BENEATH him.
    Fourth: considering how Rowling writes, a body revived via Horcrux, especialy so corrupted by dark magic and emaciated like that would, 100%, no shadow of a doubt, be INFERTILE. He might not even have a functioning penis, or, hell, does he even have functioning internal organs AT ALL? We never saw him eating or drinking aside from the snake’s “milk” prior to his ressurrection! I refuse to believe he got a functioning set of genitalia at all!

      You don't need love for sex. Murder, theft, conquring are all base desires humans also have. Sex is a desire that drives nearly anyone, and Voldemort has rarely ever held back on carnal desires. They come to him on a whim and he does it without thinking it through. The killing of Snape comes to mind

    I like your version of the rewrite. Great job staying clear & succinct throughout. Staying true to the deepest nature of the characters as they were originally presented in the series.
    - Ideas tangent... I wish they had taken some time to create a new threat instead of using time travel & revisiting dead villains. To show how the Wizarding world had changed. Perhaps how the Trio had effected the changes and interacted with members of the Wizarding community to accomplish these changes. There are so many opportunities to have shown scenes from the end of the Battle of Hogwarts to the 'modern day' with their children and the new challenges they face. How they dealt with the rights arguments for the different magical beings, etc. What other goings-on would they realistically be dealing with in a Wizarding World at peace? Everyday wizarding crimes? Perhaps bring back the Triwizard Tournament? Or Quidditch games at the pro level, maybe not the finals but the games leading up to the finals? Ginny was a pro player. They could have focused on other characters. Now that I think on it, what I am imagining is more a book of short stories providing glimpses into the everyday lives of some of our favorite characters, not so much a book or screenplay with any plot to it.
    - Paperwork tangent... Harry is the Head of the Department for Magical Law Enforcement ... is it plausible that he could have had another member of the Dept or his aide (someone who reports to him) read all the reports and provide him with a summary of them? ... I feel like there are a few simple fixes for the paperwork problem. Surely there is another Percy Weasley/Hermione Granger-esque type of character to studiously do the bulk of the paperwork and provide relevant summaries to their superiors? ...
    - Elder wand tangent... In the books Harry put the Elder Wand back in Dumbledore's tomb, unbroken. Harry losing to Delphie leaves a possible plot hole where she could somehow end up with the Elder Wand. Or a new person searching for the wand could track it. Maybe a rewrite to leave the wand in Dumbledore's tomb broken beyond magical repair? ...
    - Werewolf tangent... I would have thought with Harry & Lupin's relationship & Harry being Teddy's godfather that werewolf relations could have been better. Perhaps a rewrite where Lupin & Tonks had survived the Battle of Hogwarts and lived with Harry as Teddy's godfather....? Perhaps Lupin could have had a few werewolves that also fought against the dark side at Hogwarts. Have some good examples that not all werewolves are bad/evil/etc...? I can just see a teenage Teddy Lupin & his mom, Tonks, in these super cute "Wolfie Rights" hoodies (that would match each of their hair colors at the moment of course) at a meeting perhaps headed by Remus, Kingsley, Harry, & Bill Weasley lobbying/making the argument to lift so of the laws/sanctions against werewolves or to is so way improve the average werewolf's rights. There were never really specifics about what rights were being suppressed. Also, I find it difficult for Harry, having known Lupin, being the godfather of Lupin's son, and being the Head of MLE, NOT to have any interest in the situation with the werewolves. Perhaps a rewrite with Harry supporting a special fund for St. Mungo's for any werewolves who wished to to be able to have access to the Wolfsbane Potion? Thus rendering them harmless during the full moon.

    I liked the werewolf angle with Scorpius, especially with all the fan theories out there that Draco is a werewolf! And it also can play into his homosexuality and having to hide who he really is.

    I know it's dark but I feel it takes the story in a new way not ignoring nor drudging up the past as we so often see with sequels to classics now, but still gives real weight to it and a meaningful if tragic experience.

    I'm glad you included the lore regarding the Time Turners aging the user. On top of the Time Turners working in a casuality loop, this detail also puts to bed the criticism regarding wizards using the Time Turners to go decades into the past. They appear to be objects used for research or viewing events one was not present for.
    People then state "if these objects are so dangerous, why did a student get one?" First, only one student got one and Hermione had already shown herself to be studious and took the rules and her education very seriously (for the most part). Dumbledore would absolutely trust her to use it wisely and he could very easily pull strings to get ahold of one. In terms of use, I'm sure Dumbledore and Hermione both agreed any mishaps related to Time Turner abuse would result in their punishments.

    • @c.w.8200
      @c.w.8200 Год назад +6

      Yes, time turners should be limited to a tool for viewing past events but not far in the past, Rowling doesn't have great foresight, she created problems (also notable: slavery) in her world building without being prepared to solve them or take them seriously.

    • @KuonilerariLoufanwald
      @KuonilerariLoufanwald Год назад +5

      @@c.w.8200 Like the aging part was an addendum added after the series ended, I believe but the causality loop existed in the very book they were introduced and was even fully explained. Having them would ruin a lot of elements such as the mystery solving. Hell, it would easily show Umbridge's abuse toward the students and even have proven Voldemort's return. So Rowling destroys them all to allow her story to continue happening.

      I would have left Delphi having blue hair and it be the fact she is a Metamorphmagus like her cousin Nymphadora be the reason for her colourful hair; and I would have explained that the Metamorph trait runs in the Black family, and just like how Andromeda's daughter and grandson had the gene and are Metamorhmagi , Delphini as Bellatrix's daughter, and Andromeda's niece also has that gene. I than would have altered some things such as instead of using the Imperius curse on Amos and controlling him that way , she instead knocked him out and used her abilities as a Metamorphmagus and impersonated him, I would even leave in some of the uncharacteristic dialogue some characters have, such as how "Harry" speaks to Minerva, how "Ron" acts in public places joking and being an idiot to them being instances where it was Delphi using her abilities as a Metamorphmagus, you could have Minerva, and Hermione, be confused as to why Harry and Ron are acting so out of character and it could be later explained because Delphi was acting off information and prejudices her father, and mother (through Bellatrix's diary) had about how Harry and Ron acted. The Death Eaters saw Harry as being full of himself, and they saw Ron was nothing more than Harry's idiot, foolish sidekick. Like take Snape's line in PoA about how Harry and James strut through the halls of hogwarts. To which Harry countered with My father never strutted through the castle nor do I. This shows there is a bias out there of how Harry acts and behaves and those not close to Harry would assume he does these things. Again you could keep certain uncharacteristic dialogue and actions of Harry and other characters in the play, if it is revealed that it was Delphi using her abilities as a Metamorphmagus to infiltrate Harry's group and to also bypass Hogwarts security as even with Dementors at Hogwarts during PoA and arguably when the security of the school was at it's highest, both Sirius and Peter were both able to smuggle into the school and move around freely using their Animagus abilites, so my Delphi with her Metamorphmagus abilities would be able to exploit weaknesses in the school's defences; and it wouldn't be after various different talks that the Adults as well as the reader learn learn how Delphi did this. And it would be her ultimate goal of having Harry lose his son, as she blames, Harry, Ron, Hermione, the Weasley's, Draco, her Aunt Narcissa etc... in her losing her mother so attacking and targeting both the sons of Harry and Draco achieves her revenge plot.
