- Former President Bill Clinton and current President Barack Obama and their wives arrive at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston, for a funeral mass for Sen. Edward Kennedy, who is to be eulogized by Obama. Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush - seen speaking with Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill - are also present.

I think it speaks a lot to the Character of George W. Bush to show up to the Funeral of Ted Kennedy. He could've said. " Screw It! all the people here hate me." But he still went to show his respects. That's Class, Not Ass!

We have realized the truth of life in Jesus Christ;"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord". Kennedy repented of his sins before he died having faith in Our Lord, We can celebrate his life as a believer in Christ. There is more sadness at an unexpected loss, but even then faith and belief in personal salvation through Jesus Christ gives us comfort....

I have walked into a funeral and not looked sad before. Usually the emotions don't magically hit because you are in a funeral and I wouldn't call what BC and HC are doing "working the line" I would call it being two social people.

The basilca is a place of worship - not happy hour at some local bar. The politicians need to respect the sanctity of the environment by sitting in their seats and allow for quiet prayer and reflection. Kudos to Jimmy and Rosalyn & George W and Laura for knowing this and shame on Hillary and Bill for not knowing.

I have been to a funeral before in a church and I didn't instantaneously "sit down in quiet prayer and reflection" and I don't think a basilica is any different. It is a church sanctuaary when you get down to it. I am sure once the service started they were respectful.

And to that end I believe that Bill clinton is a genuinely social person. I bet he was the person that was a friend (in high school or at Georgetown) that if someone didn't have a friend he was a friend--that isn't all just being a politician he just is friendly that much I believe--not talking about befriending a non-friend at the funeral but all the stuff the same.

@mity15 Kennedy took a wrong turn home while he was drinking and driving. When he got near a bridge he applied his brakes he then drove over the side of the bridge. The car came to rest upside-down underwater he was able to swim to land his friends said they will take care of the accident while he can go home , He then returned to his hotel room, where he removed his clothes and collapsed on his bed. Kennedy plea guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident after causing injury

I thought Hillary made a great appearance here and presented herself well despite the fact Kennedy did not back her. She acted more open, relaxed and friendly than Bill or the Bush's.

Your right, Pres. Obama doesn't deserve to sit with the other presidents. Pres.Obama deserves to have his own pew for daring to break the mold and to be different. For having the courage to do what is right even if it is not popular. No he is not perfect, which is one of the reasons why I personally I wouldn't vote for any human ruler, but I can impartially point out the good and bad of all human governments and rulers.
