I inquired with my AD about this watch the day after its release. 24 hours later, I received a call that it was available and was offered the first one the AD got. I went for the 5-link. I cannot tell you how good this watch is. I've had and still have a number of Rolex models, but this hasn't left my wrist since I bought it. Another thing to note is my AD allowed me to order the rubber strap option, which I should be receiving soon - so I'll basically get to experience 2 variations of this watch with the manufacturers blessing. Forget the "value for money" argument, this watch is more enjoyable to me than ones in my collection that cost twice as much. The price is the least interesting thing about it.
do you know by any chance if you can order the regular bracelet and get the 5 link? (along with the rubber) and get the trio? Here in Miami they are in a long wait list...
@@OswaldoLafee my AD didn’t seem to think Tudor would have a problem selling me any of the other bracelet options. The only challenge is they could not give me a timeline on when I am set to receive it. So it could be in a week or 3 months by the time I get the rubber strap + new clasp. Keeping my fingers crossed it’s sooner
@@OswaldoLafee also the 5 link is ultra pricy if you buy it from Tudor. It’s over a grand I believe. There are watches on the 5 link on Chrono24 that are over retail but cheaper than a “oyster style” + ordering 5 link from an AD. I love this watch and I hope you guys get a chance to buy it soon!
This model became my new grail as soon as I saw it. I'm retired military and this design speaks to me in ways I'm not sure I even understand, but it definitely calls to me.
From a “no date” sub owner- if this was on the market before I got my sub I probably wouldn’t have a sub. The monochrome no date diver with the 5 link and the T fit is fantastic. I hope they release the navy blue bezel version in this format so I have an excuse to buy one
I’m still waiting on a blue Pelagos 39, I was sure that would come out this year. But I think we’re definitely going to see another blue bezel Black Bay; not sure if we’ll get all blue.
@@aslamc9288 im waiting for a blue pelagos 39 since they released the blue fxd and black fxd the only logical step now is blue peli 39, i loved the blue 42 version but its too big on my 6.8 inch wrist , im torn between waiting for a peli39 or getting a blue bb 58 or wait for a blue 41m new bb ,,,, :D so much options and they are all good
This feels like Tudor making a Submariner like they were intended to made. A great everyday everywhere watch, Tudor is definitely doing great at the moment.
I love this watch but since I do have a Rolex Submariner, I decided to buy the burgundy bezel version of this watch. As you said, it does wear completely different from the other Tudor 41mm watches like the old GMT. I had that watch and sold it because it just felt too big for me. It was too thick and top heavy but this watch feels completely different and I actually think it wears smaller than other 41mm watches I have worn. The 5-link "jubilee" bracelet is amazing and the T-fit clasp makes this bracelet even better than the Rolex version. This is a home run for Tudor and if you don't own a Submariner, this is a great watch for less than half the price of a Rolex and you can get it with a jubilee bracelet.
First off as always Teddy has the best content and presentation on the internet. I was able to get this watch on this bracelet. I absolutely love it! It wears like a dream and it is really beautiful, more so in person. For me, this replaces my need for the Sub from Rolex. I couldn’t be happier.
My dad went to the world expo in Manchester 1954 and was fascinated to see a watch in a jug of water . He bought one and I still have it to this day and it still works closest I will get to a Rolex
Got this today and I absolutely love it. Jubilee bracelet middle part high polishing against matte black bezel is superb combo. This is also my only watch without date and that's so refreshing when you don't need to think is it AM or PM.
Im absolutely a fan of it.. I dont own a Tudor, but that will change very soon. I can’t wait to get this watch with the factory rubber strap option. I really like it, I love the clasp too - love everything about it. IT will check the box for a good knock around daily for me whenever I’m doing things that are less than ideal for me to wear my daytona, daydate, etc.. type of watches - but with this Ill still have something on thats very enjoyable, iconic in its own right, and will go well with any outfits/style
As Teddy stated, it’s another black and white dive watch. I intended on purchasing the new BB58 GMT. But there is something captivating about this watch I can’t describe. I believe this will win out on the purchase for me, between the 2.
@TeddyBaldassarre, just wanted to say a huge thank you for featuring this watch. I finally found one in stock and I’m planning to pick it up from one of my ADs tomorrow. I also grew up in PA not too far from Cleveland where I fly into when I visit my family. Next time I’m in town, I’m definitely swinging by your boutique to pick up a watch!
Had it in my hands the other day, comparing it to my BB41 with blue bezel. I thought I wound't like it, basing on the pictures I saw of it. But I must say in real live its the one to go for. I'm saving up to get one, replacing my current 41. I was doubting between my 41 and the 58, but the new design sits right in the middle somehow and is just perfect for my wrist size. I love it!
Another response it just don't overthink it... great watch, classic design, you'd be happy to wear it for years. a solid choice for any dive watch fan.
With my current collection, it's near to impossible to justify this watch, but it isn't stopping me from pondering "hmm, what if?" On the 5 link bracelet, I consider this to be as near to perfection as a watch can be, and a big step forward from its predecessor. Proof positive that the brand is responsive to current owners and potential future customers.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I absolutely love this watch. It's the exact watch I've been waiting for from Tudor. The Pelagos is nice, but way too much text on the dial. I cant wait to see this in person. I will be $4500 poorer I suspect
I was on the list for a 124060LN to celebrate my medical thesis. But I ordered this on the oyster + the oysterflex instead after comparing the two. Rolex's shininess is a bit much for me after all. This could have a crown on the dial, nobody would dare say a thing. Really perfect life long watch.
Had a Tudor Black bay steel which I liked but I traded up for a 1999 "Swiss only" sub. Having now sold the sub at a substantial profit, I suspect this monochrome will be my next purchase. Absolutely love it!
Beautiful piece here. Thank you Teddy for this video, and information. I'd say the world definitely does need another dive watch, especially one like this. When we consider the quality, the legacy and history of the brand, and most of all, the price point.
I love my BB 41 5 link. Just had some of bands bling, customized to a satin finish. Very happy. I will always have a soft spot for my BB Bronze and it patina. Tudor Fan guy.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
I don't love this one, but I do love my Pelagos 39 and I do have my eye on the BB58 (or if they do the new BB41 case with a gilt dial). Tudor are doing some great things.
I’ll stick with my 54 as my beater/ diver, had it for over a year now and still so happy with it. This is great though but I wish it was a 39mm with crown guards. I still wouldn’t need it but that would be 🔥
It’s basically a “no date” sub on jubilee. Perfect as a daily watch not trying to flex on others. Only watch fans will know the watch. Perfect for travelling too, not to loud in dangerous countries. Great review!
Thank you Teddy for your videos. Tudor is going in the right direction. This watch is a joy to look at. I just hope they release a date version. Thanks again.

Fantastic review Teddy. Appreciate the history, the perspective, and the details on the watch. Definitely an incredible watch. With this addition, I think it's a perfect time to revisit the monochrome diver space and what is good value for the money that's out there today.
Again, another excellent review and explanation on the history of Tudor and the BB Submariner. I like the new monochrome design and look, and of course, all the bells and whistles, but still it lacks pop and color. That's why I purchased the burgundy version on the 5 link bracelet.....and totally love it. Giving my Panerai a bit of a rest. Thanks and keep 'em coming
I really want Tudor to release the black face/blue bezel "blue" version with these specs. Also a 3 link bracelet similar to that of the new Ranger without the rivets, in 21mm I guess.
Great video as always, Teddy--it asks all the right questions. Personally, it boggles my mind that people get excited over the most standard-looking dive watch designs. Don't we all already have watches that look like this? How hard can anyone get for another Black Bay?
The finishing on Tudor is awful a watchmaker I met said he can't believe that they are over 3k and also said nothing on a Tudor is remotely close to a Rolex and the one's that say the finishing is just as good as a Rolex are kidding themselves. His words
The funny thing about Tudor is that once you own and wear one for a while, Rolex starts to feel a bit dainty on the wrist. Tudor is like that edgier younger sister that is trying to step out of her older sisters shadow.
I just picked this up and I love it. However, if they give us this same option as a BB58, I will 100% sell the 41 for it. This 41 monochrome is very comfortable but if it was 12mm-12.5mm thick it would be perfect
As much as I like the sub I actually prefer this. The snowflake hour hand, the alu bezel and the jubilee - brilliant!! And far less predictable than the Rolex.
I have the Sub No-Date. I have seen this in person too. You should be very pleased with this watch as it has the right movement and looks. It’s not a Sub. It’s a great black diver that has no hypebeast qualities.
I’m willing to admit I haven’t been in the watch game long enough to dislike this watch. Style + modern certification + available makes it a winner in my book.
I love look of it, but to be fair there are some great Tudor Subs Ref.75190 that are about $1k to $2k less. I had one and loved it, only thing is I notice the glass would smudge often. If you can find one for $3k I’d recommend it. I wanted the salmon dial one but they go for 4.5k now, so kinda hard to justify getting it
hey Teddy, I saw all that has been released in 2024 for now and this is my favorite. This new generation of watch collectors need to get out of the habit of wanting 1:1 copy releases, I say embrace the new or the evolution
I absolutely love my Tudor Panda. Im waiting for a rubber evergreen strap for it. Im definitely a Tudor lover but still want a Rolex maybe a date just..
I think the watch is a beautiful culmination of many improvements of the past few years. That being said, it needs to be 39 mm or smaller if they want a true classic
I think this was a great release, even if I don't specifically want one. I was hoping they would also release an all blue model at the same time. I'd take that or a blue Pelagos 39. For now, I haven't found that exact right Tudor for me.
I would buy a BB but I need a date complication for daily wear. It’s why the sub date is such a fantastic piece. I feel tudor is purposely keeping the date complication out. Ugh.
Absolutely love it! I will definitely be buying this later in the year! I’m not sure if I missed it or not, does this model have ARC? It doesn’t specify on their website.
Tudor is pretty damn smart. They understood a long time ago what was happening to the watch world before 2015. I feel this reintroduction of Tudor was a well executed plan. They have fed the masses with really nice watches for a long time, knowing that slowly fine tuning a watch for it's ultimate mic drop. Ladies and gentlemen, that day draws near, jus sayin'
Hot take: Tudor is not a poor mans Rolex. Rolex has become an expensive Tudor.
🔥🔥
Could not have said it any better…well done
Agree, I just want to see a titanium version of this or the bb58 like they did with the pelagos fxd.

Looks great! A nice option at this price point
Ugh.
Just look at your phone if you can’t remember the date😂 you will be just fine
I wonder if this piece has a place in a collection with a Speedy and Explorer41. Lots of black and grey/silver
Please do a video comparing the new monochrome tutor to the Rolex sub both in dimension and how it feels on the wrist.
10/10 watch right there. No notes.
I still like Rolex and Omega... but in the past few years, Tudor has my heart... and my wallet.
Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for MaMaCoo watch makers
