Having had a BB and sold it for a BB58, all i can say is that this is nice but the real deal is a BB58 in this colourway. The smaller dial and slimmer case just wear better. Close, but no cigar.
Sure wish they ditched the rivets on the bracelet and added a matte black ceramic bezel insert instead of the aluminum. Love the videos Adrian and thumbs up!
Definitely their best release this year. Boringly beautiful. Curious to see if they put out the BB58 version next year and kill the gilt version. That’s the Goldilocks size and will be a massive hit.
I think they will release a 58 GMT Pepsi at some point and probably with no gilt, because this would lead to too many colors on the watch. The Coke has a partially black bezel and a black dial, it matches. A Pepsi with gilt would mean 5 different colors on the watch: red, blue, black, gold, silver. I don't believe they will do this. But of course there will be a twist. The red in the bezel will not actually be red, it will be burgundy.
I love my BB GMT with the tube crown and big easy to manipulate smaller. Comes down to preference but downsizing isn’t for everyone happen to love 41mm diameter and thickness. Glad I got the Diet Pepsi while they’re still around.
Why does every single influencer have like like 3 Tudor Black Bay videos every year... It seems almost as if Rolex has decided to push the Black Bay on social media since the Submariner is so priced out of existence nowadays and there's a wait list. Tudor is not the best value for COSC or METAS certified movements. Longines have the better deal theyre by far as you can get COSC and GMT for the same price as a Tudor with just 3 hands...and literally a century more heritage and in-house heritage at that which Tudor does not have. Also, the BB needed to be slimmer years ago but glad they finally stopped being lazy on a $3,500 watch. But overall this is nice looking watch if you really dig snowflake hands which apparently is all they're allowed to use now. Weird because the tradition of the Tudor Sub is Mercedes hands. Rolex is apparently setting the rules.
Been waiting for this forever. Will own ASAP. Never liked the gilted version. Was planning to buy a Pelagos, but this jumped the queue to the top of my list.
I would say this BB with 5 link Jubilee is a very good alternative if you're waiting or can't be bothered to wait for the new "Wayne" Rolex GMT master 2 with Jubilee
Tudor are getting closer to the eta sub they had 25 years ago. They have removed the second hand snowflake and gone to the lollipop. All they need to do is remove the hour hand snowflake and return the original Mercedes hand, job done.
i'm lost now i wanted a peli 39 in blue but they did not make one yet another bb spin off it's a nice watch and i'll wear this instead of submariner i think they over saturated the "dive watch category " bb 58 bb 54 peligos 42 39 fxd and burgundy and now this i guess if it gets them business keep them pumping nice video man ❤
What do I think about this watch ??? Hmmmm let me think. It mades me want to sell my BB GMT, sell my seiko SKX009, and buy this magnificent diver's METAS certified watch on the most beautiful t-fit clasp there is on the market at the moment !!It's just the perfect version of a submariner to me.... Initially I’m like Tudor - no original idea company - stop looking back at Rolex back catalogue- however Iv got to admit at less than 4k when viewed as it’s on piece , on the 5 link bracelet I think it’s actually a nice piece . I do think crown guards would improve the look - personally no crown guard’s are only for dress pieces . I’d love to see Tudor move back to being more bold - by all means still do watches like this but rock the boat more - bring out a purple variant do something abit more creative with the dials .
I disagree about the rubber strap comment. It's a tool watch not a "look-at-me" watch. If I wanted a watch for attention then sure give me a Jubilee yet I would rather take a well built watch on rubber and weld, hammer, and build cool stuff than be worry about the flash

Great looking watch but 13.6 mm thick and 21 mm lug width is crazy. Am I the only one that thinks Tudor is going backwards? First they got rid of the older black bay 36 Watches and replaced them with these terrible pale dials and now they release this watch. The only home run they’ve had for me is the black bay 54.
I think no date sub is obtainable. When I asked the AD as a first time rolex buyer, she kept on selling me on no date sub when I wanted the date sub. I ended up getting a datejust 41 green dial fluted jubilee, which I think was way harder to get than no date sub.
@@nikouai actually I wanted the dj41 more but I was thinking sub was the better deal lol, I mean I'd settle for either probably. If I were really set on one stainless steel model, it'd be the Pepsi. I really don't like the Daytona model even though that's the most unobtainable Rolex.
I think the watch is still way too thick for a 3 handed dive watch without a date. I mean Tudor proved that they are able to manufacture a thinner watch with the Blackbay 54. Even the Blackbay 58 GMT is slimmer than this standard Blackbay.
I want people to stop pretending a watch with no date complication is thin at 13.6mm. I’ll always be a fan of your videos but it should be a whole mm thinner.
I have this watch in burgundy. I don't seem to remember this out pouring of love for it last year? But in monochrome most people seem to be losing their shit. I like it. But I am not sure if I am going to be rushing to buy its brother? (I upgraded to this burgundy from the previous slab sided burgundy and have the "five bar" bracelet)
I do remember there being big support for the Burgundy last year. In fact, I'm pretty sure Adrian picked it as his watch of the show. I also prefer the Burgundy too, but you need to remember that a monochrome black and white is always going to be more popular due to the versatility.

@@edrader Yes. Be happy that everyone's wishes are being met. And you can get a discount on most things now, after the feast of COVID, we now enter the famine stage, for the big watch conglomerates.
Bought it 3 days after release; the watch has not left my wrist(I could not be more bias). For those who are worried about the watch being too thick or the diameter being too large. It’s actually quite wearable on my 6.75in wrist. With the way Tudor has cut/segmented the case side profile with the bezel and case back, you can’t even tell it has a 13.6mm thickness. As a quick comparison I also own a Pelagos 39, they both wear quite similarly; the black bay sits almost as close to the wrist as the Pelagos, and I have no issues sliding it under a cuff. From a far, the silhouette on the wrist is basically the same. The BB in stainless feels much heftier than the Pelagos’ titanium, and I much prefer the shiny Rhodium indices paired with the aluminum bezel as opposed to the shiny ceramic bezel and applied snowflake indices combo. Those slight differences was why I chose this watch and possibly selling my Pelagos. I know not everyone has the opportunity to own both watches so I’d say if you are on the fence, try them on in person before making the decision. Probably the most important lesson learned from this hobby is picture might speak a thousand words but you’re not wearing the pictures on your wrist…With that being said get what you like, it’s your money.
Thanks for the detailed impressions. I have the same wrist size as you and after trying it I can vouch it wears well. However I am not sure if I should buy this or wait for the non gilt BB58 as that one might provide better dimensions all around. It’s interesting that you find the P39 to wear similar considering it has much shorter lug to lug, diameter, and much thinner.

Can you imagine Omega doing the Seamaster and going “it’s slimmer, it’s got a better movement but we’re only doing the black one, the old ones are close to the same money but they may as well be obsolete, we’ll do another colour next year.” It’s boring that Tudor can get away with colour a year and everyone laps it up. How can they do a BB58 GMT Coke that’s 12.8mm thick and yet this time only watch is 13.6? It still feels like they are capable of more somehow. This watch looks pretty nice. But Tudor releases 2 watches, everyone wants one, next year everyone will want a different 2 and so it goes on. Meanwhile all their other watches sit around not selling all that well. Hopefully Tudor has made a shed load of them because this is going to be their biggest seller ever, this will be for people who can't get the Rolex Sub or don't want to pay triple the price for it,.Its a beautiful watch for sure.

Bloody hell. Quite a piece & like Adrian said, "...the one watch."
Mmmm... I think the one watch wouldn't be a dive watch, but something more general like the Ranger or Explorer. Each to their own though.
The jubilee one is less of a diver and crosses over from submariner towards a dressier watch like a datejust (without the date)
