- So, I had a chance to see and try the new Tudor Black Bay, 41and here is why I think this watch is practically perfect in every way. The new Tudor Black Bay has two nicknames, Submariner and Monochrome. During Watches and Wonders 2024, Tudor introduced two new killer watches. The Black Bay 58 GMT and this monochrome Tudor Black Bay 41. At first, the Black Bay 58 GMT completely stole the show. Because it was something that people had requested for so many years, and it was a good surprise from Tudor. But when the dust settled a little bit, the new Tudor Black Bay 41 emerged into the limelight. I had a chance to have my hands on this new model from Tudor, and in this video, I am sharing my thoughts and impression of the watch.
Watches featured:
1. Tudor Black Bay 41 Monochrome M7941A1A0NU-0001
2. Tudor Black Bay 41 Burgundy Bezel M7941A1A0RU-0001
3. Tudor Black Bay 54 M79000N-0002

I just received my BB Monochrome on a 3-link bracelet and love it enough that I'm selling my Submariner 124060.
The Sub was always a little "off" for me. Too much bling with the ceramic bezel.
This watch is just the right amount of subdued for me and the T-clasp is game changing (spoiled by the Rolex Glide Lock).
Stop by your local AD and see what you think. For me, I just put $4500 USD in my pocket ;)
Congratulations on the Tudor! It's a fantastic watch. I agree that the modern Sub is too flashy. That's why I love 5-digit Rolexes. Tudor now is essentially what Rolex used to be :)
@@OneManReviews Thanks man - perfectly stated. It has a retro feel with a modern delivery. Love it!
@@OneManReviewsthat is the perfect summary, tool watch without the wanker factor.
Getting mine tomorrow, man am i excited. Tried it on the five link, it felt too shiny. Tried it on the oyster, and it was absolutely perfect. Masculine, robust, modern yet refined, elegant and understated. The spirit of the submariner of old lives in that watch. But I must say that, the jubilee version made me think of a GMT with full black bezel, monochrome, new case, with the jubilee. This, this I would also buy in a heart beat. Enjoy your watch man.
@@cardinal-ducderichelieu1362 Excellent choice. You'll love it!
I bought the Black Bay 41mm monochrome 2 days ago, and I'm impressed. 0 seconds lost in two days...
The construction quality is amazing, almost on par with Rolex.
I got it with the "Jubilee" style bracelet, and it is an amazing bracelet. Comfortable and with an amazing clasp. So amazing that I think this clasp, especially the quick adjustment system, is better than Rolex's (that's bold to say, but I also have a Submariner, and the spring adjustment system of the Tudor seems better, at least for now).
This is almost a perfect watch. It's a bit heavy with the bracelet, and it could be thinner (just a bit). Everything else is amazing.
Construction, movement (super quiet and precise), polishing (get in close and you'll see the nice transitions this watch has - more interesting than a Rolex), the matte bezel, and the dial are so simple, yet so well done...
I'm truly happy with this watch. I have Rolex, Zenith, and Omega as my "top brands." This Tudor is my first Tudor, and it couldn't be a better experience.
It's like having a Submariner on the wrist. If Rolex did a reissue of the amazing Submariner Big Crown, it would be a great success. This Tudor is the next best thing.
9/10 for me...
Wow. Congrats on the new watch and thank you for the review of the Tudor. It's definitely a great watch.
Have you seen the bronze one...I went on omega and saw that they took down the seamaster railmaster (that silver face one you have with the yellow strap) and I was ready to cry...then I saw the bronze 58 and I felt better about what's going to be my next pick up 😊
I've seen the bronze model some time ago. It looked fantastic :)
Great video, thanks for sharing! I really like this new monochrome Tudor. I just got the GMT Pepsi and LOVE IT.
Thank you and congrats on the new watch!!! GMT Pepsi is great!
I love the look of this watch but I'm just not sure which one to get...the Jubilee looking strap or the 3 link one.
I would go with the jubilee bracelet.
I got mine on the 3-link (Oyster-style) and love it. I've also ordered the rubber and 5 link (Jubillee-style) for trading off.
Not inexpensive options, but less than additional watches. :)
I got this watch and I really think it’s perfect
Nice. Congratulations!
I love my bb58 and feel that this is headed the right direction. Only thing I'd change is omitting the faux rivets. Glad to see use of the t fit
That's why the jubilee bracelet is better. No fake rivets :)
@@OneManReviews true. I like the comfort of a jubilee bracelet but also feel like it's meant for old guys. Something about jubilee style bracelets that remind me of my grandpa's generation and prefer the current style if they'd just get rid of the rivets
Totally agree with this. I was excited about this model until I saw the faux rivets again. That's the only thing that has prevented me from buying previous BB models.
Will the Tudor Ranger bracelet fit this model?
Black Bays are vintage inspired so the rivets stay, as will the aluminum bezel (I prefer these). This way they are differentiated from Rolex. Same with being a Master Chronometer. They need to be different enough to be their own and not just a less expensive Rolex. My BB54 is the perfect watch for me and Tudor in my eyes is killing it.
Look alikes...wannabes
Needs a glossy black dial.
Just bought it on the jubilee bracelet today at my AD. It is damned gorgious
Congratulations 👏 it’s an incredible watch.
I want it in 39mm 😢
Me too
It’s nice however I still prefer the BB54.
When it comes to fine imitation watches, nkuwan delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
Hello Neighbour, I’m the first to comment again 😊. Excellent review as always. You know my stand on the bezel, I wish it was ceramic. I know many will disagree with me since it will take away the vintage look. But paying such a premium for Aluminum bezel in 2024 is way too expensive. Great timepiece for sure. Tudor if you are reading my comment, please give us a ceramic bezel. Cheers Neighbour and keep up the awesome work.
Thanks so much 🙏
Well actually in this case I would agree with you. It's a modern model and the ceramic bezel would not hurt.
It’s a shame the ranger bracelet would not fit as 20mm lugs on ranger and 21mm on this. Not a fan of the fake rivets.
Rolex Sub 300 m WR 12.4 mm thin
Tudor bb58 200 m WR 11.9 mm thin
Tudor bb41 200 m WR 13.6 mm thick
Why, oh, why Tudor?
Thanks for the vid, man.
Glad you liked it. I think it's the Master Chronometer movement. It's thicker and larger.
am I the only one that likes the rivets?
I don't like them but also don't hate them :)
I like the rivets. It’s part of the Tudor DNA. Much like the snowflake hands.
I appreciate the aesthetic but the BB54 is pretty much the only one that is the best in the Tudor lineup
I would say it's the BB58.
For those saying that Tudor copies Rolex and isn’t original. From what I recall, Longines is the first to come out with a GMT watch. Does that mean Rolex copied them?
Tudor is rolex
@@dinoXAs2 Exactly! Just a slight different mission for different tastes in watches. Rolex is covering all its bases. That’s a good company when they have 2 companies that go into all the playing fields. Rolex and Tudor are the shit!!!
@@theoriginaljohngalt2450 yeah they really have genious business going on
Its win-win in all the cases
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
It's a Rolex Submariner but with the square hours hand 🙂
You meant 'Sub'stitute right?
😂
Tudor has got to do something about their thick slab sides.
This one is not thick as well as BB58 or 54.
Tudor are nice watch but i don't think the polishing is there yet. Rolex polishing are way better. If your heart want a Rolex then you get a Rolex. I don't think Tudor can replace any Rolex as of now, not yet maybe in the future.
Tudor cases are still too thick, and that's intentional strategy from Rolex/Tudor.
And for that price, you get a nice Grand Seiko. And that's exactly what I did yesterday.
Thanks for the video.
Without the domed crystal, the Monochrome is 11,8mm. Thinner than the Sub.
Grand Seikos are pretty thick too. A snowflake is 41mm, 12.5mm. BB 41 (M79680-0001) a watch without dive bezel from Tudor is 41mm, 12.2mm thick.
When comparing watches please compare with similar styles of watches. When you look at divers like SLGA015 from GS it's 43.8mm, 13.8mm, the BB41 monochrome diver is 41mm, 13.6mm. Both of them are divers with 200m wr, and have a movement with a rotor in them.
I'd say both brands are pretty comparable in terms of how thick the watches are. GS has the advantage in materials, finishing, movement tech. But I wouldn't say that they're thinner so wear much better in my experience.
The only difference compared to other brands is that Tudor cases usually has more slab sided cases which makes them look larger, while Rolex/GS/Omega can hide their thickness with different case finishing techniques and designs.
@@zzz-vd5rp What some people have a lot of difficulty understanding is that without its domed crystal, the Monochrome is 11.8mm. The domed crystal does not affect comfort in any way. The Sub is thicker than the Monochrome because its caseback sticks out a lot.
Correct instead of a look alike wannabe. 🎉
It doesn’t have in-house movement, it’s manufactured movement
Those rivets are hideous Tudor need to get rid of the
If it doesn't say 'Submariner'...I ain't buying it.
Submariner Monochrome.
Hahaha
😂 TRUE!
@OneManeviews no matter what you say it will always be just a sub copycat
@@OneManReviewswhy og sub is also monochrome
Too thick
Its case is actually thinner than the submariner when you include the case back, as the subs sticks out further than the Tudor. I’ve seen a side by side. It actually wears better than the submariner. Numbers are deceiving. The only reason the monochrome number are bigger is because of the doomed crystal.
It's not too thick for a diver.
The fake rivets would bother me and i would prefer the slimmer case on a sub everytime. And i think a Sub looks more mature than a Black Bay. You could say the BB is a boy and the Sub is a man. And that's completely okay, because Tudor certainly has the younger target group in mind with this model.
The Sub has a thinner case but its caseback stands out a lot. In fact, the Monochrome is 11.8mm without the domed crystal. Thinner than the Sub !
When you see them side by side they are almost identical in thickness don’t let the measurement fool you.
I’m not so sure that brighter steel, a glossy dial and a much more reflective bezel look more mature tbh. This is much more subtle (on the 3 link at any rate)…
It's really expensive and overpriced for a homage. All that momey for a tribute to the submarine is senseless. Far cheaper good quality homages out there. Or just buy a used submarinner, hundreds on the market. Either you can afford the sub, or you can't. If you can't, I would not waste money on this homage, but buy a cheaper one.
If there was not written Tudor on the dial, you'd be right.
You're broke that's why. Real watch collectors have rolex, tudor, omega, etc. Go buy your fake dhgate or ali express watches broke boy.
@@MarkDanger777 from the clown sporting a sugess sub homage, who isn’t only cheap but dim too missing my point entirely about buying the real thing instead.
