How big is your wrist?

Hello from Toronto! As usual, thank you for your straightforward review. I've always hesitated to consider a Panerai watch because of its 44mm case size-it just feels too chunky for me. The square case design makes it appear enormous on an average-sized wrist. However, the new 38mm case is a game-changer for many watch enthusiasts since it looks much more proportional. But don’t let those 38 millimeters fool you; a round-shaped 38mm watch might wear small, but that's not the case with a square-shaped watch. I used to own a Tag Heuer Monaco, which was also square case and also 38mm (39mm in newer models), and it wore much larger than you’d expect. The square-shaped case was the reason for that. While the 38mm Panerai isn't as chunky as the 44mm models, it’s still not a small watch and will have a solid presence on your wrist.

The Panerai Quranta is the one to get, slightly bigger at 40mm but still thin and with a improved 100m water resistance.

Keeping in mind that this is a dress/every day Panerai, rather than a dive watch. Love this one.

I switch between a Cartier Tank and a 44 Titanium Luminor. The design works better at a bigger size i believe

Almost all Panerais looks the same. Same design with a very to almost no difference. For the money they are asking for, we can get way better watch. The bracelet not tapered is a big NO. Thanks for the video buddy. Great work as always. Cheers 🥂

Great review. Great watch. It was a smart move to reach a larger market by offering smaller options. I love my 44mm Luminor but on a smaller wrist that 38mm model still has that "My watch thinks your watch is a pussy" attitude.

Almost perfect, but In don't see myself in a yacht and saying "let me take off my watch to jump to the water" that killed the deal for me.

I don't understand why people would like to buy this instead of used Ingenieurs that are nicer and at a quarter of the price. Is this nicer than a Mission Earth? I don't think so.

In my opinion, a Panerai watch should look big on a wrist. It shouldn't be 44mm, it might be 42 or 40, however it should look big, when one is wearing it. And that crown guard. Is its purpose to provide some proper water resistant? With WR 50m it seems as a useless gimmick.

My problem with this watch is the water resistance, I don’t need 300m but it would be nice to have 100M so I don’t need to have any concerns.

I bought my new PRX today (exactly the same as yours) and was disappointed to find some big gouges in the bracelet when I got home. Taking it back to the store first thing tomorrow. Thanks for your video, it puts my mind at ease 😅

Great video. Thanks for the advice on the bracelet, I was going to buy the leather strap version and change to bracelet later in as there is quite a difference in price between bracelet and strap models.

Did you end up purchasing it? Long term experience? I’m considering the SBGW283 blue “spring time” version of the same case.

If watches are your hobby, you'll need to move with time. Otherwise, your contents are becoming more negative as time goes along. It has been that way for a while now.

I am glad you mentioned the north star at the end. It's something that certainly hasn't been my favourite aspect of the watch, but most seem positive. For me, it is not about the star itself, but rather the fact that we have two figurative elements with very strong directional aspects placed far too close together. In other words, if Heron wanted a special and custom 12 o'clock marker, I feel they should have gone with their Heron logo instead. That would have kept it cleaner. Or, alternatively, do something smaller and abstract within the scheme and keep the logo as is. For me this Heron goes straight up against the Tusenö Shellback in approach, quality features, and the kind of identity it offers. Especially in that last aspect I feel the Tusenö still has the more remarkable and preferable package. This Heron stays closer to well-trodden paths so is better suited to those with more conventional proclivities, which in that respect matches well with the Tudor comparison. Tusenö is noticeably more its own thing.

You won't see it in Canada because we're cheap and only wear Kirkland Signature.

Beautiful. Does it scratch easily?

Sorry but the sapphire anti reflective treatment is not “easy to scratch”. I’ve owned my Seamaster for over three years and have done all kinds of stuff with it including fly fishing and working out at the gym. While the stainless case has some scratches, the sapphire, and specifically anti-reflective treatment, doesn’t have a single scratch on it. This seems to be a comment that was made based on an assumption as opposed to real world experience.

Overhyped piece of plastic. For that price... id rather get other brands. Never really liked swatch anyways. Plastic toys lol. Heard bad reviews from my friends who got them. Broke in less than 2 weeks, unaligned hands, bezel flying off, plastic crystal etc. What youre paying here is the name of omega. Id rather get the real speedmaster😂

There’s a finite amount of designs and colors and there will be similarities. Its not reasonable to say no one else can have a white dial watch with a bezel because Rolex has one. This is just CWs white dial watch.

Bought my first Speedy this year, hesalite 3861, and I have worn it everyday for the past 6 months. During that time, it has experienced daily life commuting to an office environment, as well as on two vacations - one to Hawaii, the other to Italy. It has performed absolutely flawlessly, looks fantastic with literally anything in my entire wardrobe, and the accuracy of the movement is beyond incredible. I look down at it and smile, knowing that some of the world's greatest space explorers trusted this device to help get them to the moon and back, one of the greatest feats of engineering in the history of mankind, and here I have it on my actual wrist. I am a huge space fan and this means so much to me. I don't wear my watches in the shower, and when I swim, snorkel and dive in the ocean, I wear a g-shocks that provides far more real-time surf data - so I don't need a daily to perform in this regards. For me, the Speedy is the absolute PERFECT daily watch :)

I own the SMP300 white dial on rubber. I bought mine pre owned at a steel. Its a nice watch but a little thick. Its probably not for everyone because of the design but its good value pre owned
