Yep, VT didn’t mean anything special beyond AWD. I think most Diablos were actually VTs once they added the option.

The Diablo was definitely my poster car. I was born in 1990, and the first time I ever saw it was in the movie Dumb and Dumber and absolutely fell in love with it. I was 5.
Fun fact the white car last MOT was 2013 and there is no road tax.I did not see any trade plates.

Timeless design, just uncontested. It's not a recycled design like many lambos are today. The sound, the lines, the roof scoops, just a thing of beauty
Hey Sam at around 10:25, I would appreciate if you could go more into detail when reviewing these cars. Why is the steering “nice”? What about the gearbox is “lovely”? It doesn’t really tell us anything about the driving characteristics of these cars we rarely see anywhere really
I understand if it can be hard timing wise when you only have a limited time available but with your knowledge it would be nice if you could go more into detail about these things. Just some constructive feedback, I love everything else about your videos!

The Murcielargo SV is one of my favourite Lamborghini’s but that Diablo 6.0 is quite something
Murci SV is the king of its era period. The flare of it and the sound is incredible one of the best sounding cars ever.
2:09 i love this shot. yours is one of my all-time favourite 911s, it just looks amazing with the green and yellow, the wheels and the bespoke interior. then two very classy looking diablos that even I am quite fond of. looking forward to the next 20 mins

I had a poster of a Diablo SV when i was a kid. One of my all-time favorite looking cars. So iconic. Glad to hear it drives good aswell, Enjoying your small reviews/coffee runs.

In primary school, my poster car was firstly the Lamborghini Muira then the Lamborghini Espada. I saw one at the Melbourne Motor Show and at the time it cost $21,000. We had a Peugeot 404 at the time and it cost well under $2000 new to give you some perspective. In my teens and 20's, it was the Countach, in my 30's, it was the Diablo.
Pre face lift Diablos are the best looking modern Lamborghinis.
Later cars might be better in every way, except for looks, drama and sense of occasion.
Totally had a heart attack when he pulled over the side road with the curb higher than the front lip of the car 😅
Strictly between the 2, that white SV has *something* extra about her, something i can't necessarily point out clearly, but that makes it my favourite. (Also the pop up headlights are a plus)

*I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU FOR A REAL HONEST TEST DRIVE* I'm 44 years old and the SV is one my favorite childhood super cars. You just gave the best test drive iveI'ever seen. As far as looks go the VT looks a little sexier. However the SV is just timeless and classic. One of the last real super cars before the cars were completely controlled by computer. I want to "feel" the car, the road.

Thankfully, my poster car during my childhood was a Mclaren F1 LM in papaya orange with the black wing and side skirt. Love it!!

I've driven the VT and couldn't get used to it. The driving position was weird and my head was pretty much on the top of the A pillar haha
What a great pair of cars. Out of the two you drove, the Diablo SV is a really gorgeous spec and the white color was perfect! If I had one to choose, it would be the Murcielago LP670-4 SV with a manual. ❤👊
Yep! Definitely the one to get, and do what Paul from SOL did, and put the same exhaust he had on his murci, as it sounded just like an old F1 car...

Being 50, the Countach and Diablo were definately MY poster cars. Countach has always been my favourite, but lately I find myself liking the original early 90's Diablo VT in red (with tan interior & rear wing of course) even more. Actually my first Bburago model was a Diablo exactly as I describe (and I still have that model!)
Anyway Sam, my son and I intend to come to the Melbourne Cars and Coffee event in November, hope to catch up and say g'day.😀

Great video and comparison Sam! When Diablo is mentioned, I just never imagine VT to be a Diablo. If I could buy a Diablo, I'd be torn which one to get. VT is definitely better option but that original design is what we imagine Diablo is 🙆♂🤷♂
I just love the Diablo, this was my poster car growing up and I was born in 96. My aunities new partner has a 95 Diablo in red and has been showing me how he managed to change the gearbox himself. Such a beast

Weird to say this but the Diablo suits you Sam. If you ever decide to go down the route of lambo v12, Diablo is my vote.
Never been a Lambo' fan. Always preferred other Italian offerings so I'm probably the wrong person to comment saying I much prefer the white one. So much more character internally and, simple is often the most appealing.
100% would be buying the pre-facelift. The Pop-Ups are iconic. Plus... they aren't Nissan headlights... 🤣

Something abou that more oldscool charm and popup headlights makes it more of a Diablo for me so not like iam in the financial bracket for a toy or five like that.

I remember when the Diablo SV came out - if memory serves it had different gear ratios which meant a lower top speed, but better acceleration. Think it was also lighter and generally drove better than any Diablo before. I absolutely hate what Audi did to it and everything these days feels contrived.

This VT is always referred to as the Diablo 6.0. The name VT was given to the second gen Diablo and the Roadster.
The VT and Diablo 6.0 are different cars . The 6.0 was the face lifted Diablo minus the pop up headlights and revised interior . The VT was way before that and named the VT. The Diablo 6.0 was I think 4 wheel drive though

My boyhood dream was the Diablo SV. I went in a Diablo in a convoy of 4 lambo's as an usher at a family wedding and a bit like I'd imagine the first hit of heroin to be like, I've always been chasing that high ever since. It was crazy, stupid and didnt really make any sense but that's true lamborghini; they want to build cars for hairy chested men who basically have never really grown up. Something about that rawness is so special though
