Changing two batteries every 3 years doesn't seem like a larger than life difficulty for me like some people comments. I have the GG 1000 mudmaster. A decent g shock watch, TOUGH and PRETTY in looks and functions.
I spent an hour in the G-Shock store in İstanbul trying to decide between the two. Both are great and with the compass and temperature are great for our regular trekking trips in the Taurus Mountains. In the end I decided on the GG-1000-1A3DR, yellow wheel and without the negative display which isn't great for clarity as I found out with my GA-700 I've had for a while. I choose it for a simple reason and it's from a personal taste point of view only, I think the GG-1000 has a far more attractive and easy to read dial. Solar power doesn't bother me, I've no problem changing a couple of cells every 2 or 3 years and when the solar cell on the GWG eventually dies, the watch is useless or won't be worth changing it due to the high cost. But.....both watches are incredible!!
Good comparison, for me it ended up between the ProTrek PRW3510Y-8 and the Mudmaster GW99400-1. I liked the reverse display of the Protrek and the compass dial. The watches have the same feature but went with the the ProTrek. This watch will be tougher then what I can dish out to it. I think for most people the ProTrek models will be more user friendly. I still like the GW9400 and may add it to my collection one day.
What's the point of having a negative LCD display on this watch? Besides it is very hard to read in dim light is there an advantage of it over a regular LCD display? Thank you :-).

Can you please do a video of all the G-Shock solar operated watches with at least 200mm water resistance , thanks great video in my opinion and I am thinking the GWG-1000 is for me when I can't wear my Rolex Batman :). I am a uniform guy who just likes a great watch Thanks again
The gg-1000's pricing makes it the more sensible option imho. The GWG is way to expensive for a every day beater watch. If i'm about to spend 800 euros for a watch then i'd rather go for a decent automatic one like a Seiko.
I have both and love them. I just dont like the fact that when the gg1000 battery dies i have to send it to casio to change it. It takes some time and its not cheap. Other wise, I'm happy with both of them. Oh and for the gwg...a new strap can cost an arm. Lowest price that i found, 80€ for a tiny peace of plastic and can cost more depending the color. Hard to find and pricy.
Sapphire on these kind of watches is stupid. It´s good for Rolex and Breitling. But on an adventure/sports watch ? No. Sapphire cracks after a blow. Mineral glass won´t.
I have a large collection of automatic watches, I'd never bring any of them trekking. Why? They all have sapphire crystal. Yes, it's more scratch proof but smack it off any hard surface and it will crack. Mineral glass though it can scratch, won't break so easily. Plus the crystal on a G-Shock watch is so well protected that chances of scratches are low, but chances of a cracked sapphire are high if it gets hit.

Ich habe die gg1000, die uhr ist perfekt . Twin Sensor ist ausreichend für eine uhr . Ich habe aber auch die gravitymaster gr b200, hat quad Sensor und ich trage sie sehr selten. Mein Fazit: viele Funktionen sind toll , man nutzt sie nur am Anfang, dann ist es egal ob twin , tripple oder quad, die Optik und der Tragekomfort entscheiden .

is there a competition? no... GWG1000 is way better... G Shock without Multiband/GPS and solar... is like car without wheels...... if you already own self adjusting G Shocks.. then maybe Multiband/GPS isn't necessary... but lack of tough solar is a deal breaker... for me.... my G-Shock collection isn't large.... GAW-100B, Rangeman GW-9400 and GWG-1000. but not bad start for collection... "all my watches has Multiband 6 and Solar powered" considering that I got bitten by G Shock bug less than year ago... with price of gg1000 , I much rather would get GW-9400 Rangeman...
When you make videos are you simply reading from a script that feeds from the brochure with a small sprinkle or improv or do you actually handle the watches? your content is fine but IMO is one step away from a video with robo voice. keep up the good work

Yep. They were actually created by Hindu mathematicians, but they went from being Hindu numerals to Arabic numerals because Arabic mathematicians introduced them to Europe during Persian times. Its kind of like all of the knowledge they stole from those that they conquered has now become credited to them, in spite of their modern primitive existence.

You forgot to mention the GWG is tough solar and the GG is not in the end of video comparison.
All the way to gwg1000 for Sapphire and solar...but for a tough watch with a much lower price gg1000 is great indeed

I love my GG-1000 the only 2 things this watch is missing to make it perfect are the tough solar and screwback case.
I just bought the gg1000 today, they listed the size at 48mm case. I see other people say it's 56mm, do you know which one is correct?
