@@jambo_jackbelly Both those elements are model dependent. Plenty of G-Shocks have less crowded dials or feature world time in a smaller section of the watchface (preventing confusion). That said, most G-Shocks do have crowded faces which is certainly not something I personnally like. I think the biggest issues with this ranking is it did not include a specific type of G-Shock model: the solar-powered g-shocks (that essentially never requires a battery swap if you wear daily) that sync themselves to atomic clocks around the world, and that can factor in daylight savings. These G-Shocks are durable, perpetual, and always accurate timepieces that run circles around the models shown here in terms of features.
@@NainGeantMiniature I switched to a Timex Expedition Grid Shock and never looked back. I have beat the crap out of it, worn it in the ocean, rivers, pools 100’s of times. I have however been recommended to a North Edge Apache, do you know much of it?
I got a promaster tough, really great watch, not to mention the monocoque case! I wear it everyday! It’s a nice hybrid between a field watch and a dive watch
I agree they’re lightweight cheap watches that are way overpriced. I was letting my daughter throw mine in the pool then dive for it and the hands stopped working
Only “dive” watch I’ve gotten to give up the ghost through what I’d call normal wear and tear. Broke my heart as a kid…..then I got a seiko, and faith was restored
Just got a great dive watch for everyday wear, the Vostok Amphibian Classic 17005B. Under $125. Swap out the metal bracelet for a NATO strap to make it lighter and more comfortable to wear.
I bought a G-Shock GA700 and it arrived today, mine is the 1A RGB version, I’m wearing it now, I am loving it and I’m glad to see someone else confirming that I made a good purchase.
You just missed the "Desk Diver" by Christopher Ward. For the person at the office that needs a 300m diver for everyday use. It even came with paperclips and pencils when you bought it.
I have a login es Hydroconquest GMT and wanted a military type watch and recently got a British watch maker called Stirling watches. Well worth taking a look at and supports British Vets with all purchase. Worth a shout out.
G Shock and Promaster both rock and ridiculously good value for money. Marathon is nice but boy is it expensive 😮. The Panerai is just awesome with a corresponding price.
Glad to see that only a handful of these watches feature mechanical movements because, let's be honest, mechanical movements just don't measure up to quartz when it comes to "toughness" or durability. Not one of those "tough" mechanical watches could continue to function if put through impacts and abuse that most $50 quartz watches just shrug off.
I had one of the first Victorinox Swiss Army Watches very similar to yours - mine just had a rubber cover too... Of all the watches I've owned - that lasted the shortest!
Thanks for another fun video! Great picks. Small piece of feedback if you're interested, try to avoid repeating "largely" or any other particular phrase more than a couple times in the same video. If you find ways to mix it up, you'll bump up the professional quality of your presentation that extra little bit. Just something to think about. Rock on!
Casio showed itself very well in the war against Russia. My AE1500 and gshock's are a great choice for extreme conditions. The only thing I recommend is a digital display.
I’m a construction worker that is very hard on watches, a typical watch used to last me a year or two. The shock that my watches go through daily from accidentally bumping things with it plus all the shock the watch absorbs from the movement of power tools or the shock it absorbs from hours of swinging hammers is really hard on them. I’ve tried all brands and costs of watches, the only watch that I have found that can withstand such abuse daily is the Invicta Subaqua Noma series dive watches. When you lift the watch it is heavier then most and it feels really solid. If you shake it the watch makes no odd noises and nothing is loose. If you rap the crystal with your knuckle the watch feels like a solid piece of metal, it feels like a tank. It is hands down the toughest crystal / watch that I have ever experienced in any watch.
honestly i was looking for a not so expensive but tower bracelet kind of watch and i found myself in love with ball watch and i love it. anyone who personally use this watch, how is it?
Sinn U1 should be on the list. Its made from submarine steel, and the surface is blasted with ball bearings to harden it. It does not get tougher as that.
Rather surprised that none of the Sinn EZM series of Mission Timers or U1/U50 divers were in this discussion. Sinn has developed and provided watches to the German GSG9 Special Forces, German Fire Brigades and Paramedical Air Rescue teams. Sinn Spezialuhren has proprietary technologies e.g. their AR Dehumidifying and Tegimentation technology that quite literally no other watch company has. I’d respectfully suggest doing some research into their military and “special forces” watches. Cheers.
I'll keep my timex expedition chronograph thanks. £140 built like a bloody tank, keeps time spot on, 200 m water resistant( not that ill need it) and has never needed to go in for a repair in 18 years.
Seiko Arnie I had 2 Arnie’s. Both sent back because it kept resetting itself. Extremely POOR quality checks from Seiko and the service Minus 1 Star. I believe the early ones were great, modern ones CRAP. Great looking watch when it worked.
