I had my first g shock at 8 years old. Had so much fun playing with it, rarely took it off and hopefully the one on the way will give me the same experience 😁
My wife got me my first G shock for Christmas right before I went to Basic and now almost 6 years later I've finally bought a new one to have variety. Love em!
The Frogman is a genuine dive watch and something very telling is that all of the military and offshore divers I worked with and know use G Shock Frogmen for diving. Although it may be expensive for a G Shock it is a bit of a bargain if you consider the quality, functionality and capability relative to the vast majority of dive watches on the market.
My 1st G-shock is the DW-004 G-Lide and I bought it in 1998 if I remember correctly. I still have it today, wear it from time to time ( I alternate between my 4 G-shock). It is an absolute beast, still works perfectly. My latest purchase is the GWG-2000-1A3ER and I love it! Amazing watch. Love this brand! Thank you for this video 😊
My favorite everyday G-shock is the GD350 with a vibrating alarm running standard battery. It is my backup to my Frogman GWF1000 when the solar battery charges Both of them compliment each other. Wow, I cant believe the Frogmnan is almost $600. I got mine for $400 2 years ago. Nice. I still got an old beat up Riseman that is 9 years old still working.
Bought mine a few months ago as mu first g shock in 25 years. Got it for 18 at Wal-Mart. Its now my favorite everyday watch. I didnt even realize that the START button starts the timer. This is why i love tge watch ao much. Amazing. If i lose it or it breaks im buying a new one even if its full price
Wait, you got a GD350 vibe alarm watch for $18 at Wal-Mart? Are you sure it is real? G-Shock is weird. They could easily discontinue it, or remake it again and again. Nobody really knows you can get a vibrating alarm watch. Timex sells one too.
@@russiangopnik9639 yeah. It was on the clearance rack for 50 bucks but range up for 18.50. Awesome watch. Vibe alarm does nothing for waking ne up from sleep but us perfect for everyday timer stuff
Nicknacks Nicknacks I never knew they had a vibrating g-shock but it sounds cool and i suppose it may be more capable of having a vibration function since they are vibration resistant, it will kill the battery though
As a Chef, the G Shock is my go to work watch that takes a serious beating and keeps going. Seriously considering the new JDM released GA-2100...especially the GA-2100-1A1JF. As someone who is a really big fan of stick hands vs digital time, I can totally get behind that series of G-Shock.
The Casio G-Shock is the best bang for the buck watch on the market. I have my 5600 from my Navy days (early 1980's), a 7700, and a 9400. My G-shock of choice is the Rangeman, just fits my needs best. I think it humorous that Jory left out one attribute of the Casio watch brand that most have because he insists the atomic clock is going to be disbanded. But the multiband atomic clock is still a functioning complication that is very useful in the real world.
Sgt Paul these watches are beasts my grandpa went to the war and he worked in the military, but shame g shocks didn't exist at that time I bet it would survive the war
Still probably holding a full charge on the cell too. I have a fourteen year old one the same that still works. It's only an ugly old beater now that I wear when there's a chance of accident. (Like bike-riding.)
The calendar expiry on gshocks is really a non issue for watches that you set the year without it being displayed, as the calendar pattern eventually repeats. For the gshocks that expire in 2039 you just set the watch back to 2012 in 2040 and you’re good (apart from being old AF)
Gulfman. I chose it because of the titanium backplate and buckle. The stainless steel used on others still contains enough traces of nickel to cause a reaction on my wrist if worn for too long. The gulfman I can wear 24-7 no problems!
I have always been a Casio fan. I remember the first simple digital watch I had at 10 or 11 years old, after which I had a W-50U World Time classic 80s/90s square one. In 2002 I bought a Pro Trek PRG 40 which I loved and kept for about 15 years working faultlessly until some moron threaded the screws in the back when I handed it in for battery replacement. I've always admired G-shocks and last year I picked up a G-7900-1ER on an Amazon deal. I could be happier with it. Tough, robust, has all the alarms, stopwatches, countdown timer, plus also has World Time and tide and lunar cycles. I love the bold red G for the illumination button, the red G-SHOCK logo, and the red Start-Stop function button. I can envisage having this watch for the next 15 years or more, and think I may be buying further G-Shocks and building my collection!
I only have 2 watches: G-Shock GW-9300DC-1JF modified with the Desert Camo kit and G-Shock MTG-B1000B-1AJF. Both have Tough Solar and Atomic Time. The MTG also has Bluetooth. Best and baddest watches I'll ever own!!
I still wear my G-100 as an everyday watch. I’m on 12 years with it, and the battery is still going strong. It’s not the most beautiful looking watch, but it still does the job.
I have Seikos, Bulovas, Citizens, Accutron 214, Casio Protrek (I think my Favorite), Casio solar Analog Digital, 3 Solar Citizens, and many more. Citizens Solar include Titanium 2Tone World Timers, Titanium Blue Angels, SAUER, Fossils, Swiss Master Analog Digital, Armstrong, I want the G-Shock analog Digital, and Several Rectangular Dress watches. You sold me on the G-Shock. Still - My Casio ProTrek with Rose Gold trim Solar Atomic is still my daily wear watch casual or formal I still get compliments. I want a couple of Breitling models and Omega. Yes others that are out of my price range given focus is researching cancer. I thoroughly enjoy your videos - please keep them coming!
I enjoy the G Shocks. I have 7. I like the price points. The durability. The overall look in total. I went years without wearing a watch. But last year I decided to go back to wearing them. At the general price point I’m happy to just give one to my Sons or good friends if they even mention they like one I’m wearing. I really like the new Carbon Core ones that have came out.
I'm 46. Just this year I had the urge to buy Casios. Dunno why. The 1st watch I bought was G-King GX56BB. Yes, it's hard to see the time but I bought it coz of the presence it commands. The 2nd watch was GA2100 black Casioak with green neon hour marker. And then I added 4 more regular Casios including AE1500, Tough solar, Fishing timer, and mud resist TRT110. More to come soon😁
I am a G-Shock junkie as well. Just bought a G-Shock GBD-800-1BCR , in crazy green, which I love! It has a blue tooth function to update the time with my phone. How cool is that! I originally got it for work , but it gets banged up too much so I switched back to my old G-Shock Altimeter, and just wear my new one after hours. I have dress watches but...
I’ve still got my DW600 and it was in Presteigne condition, this was until I needed a new batteries to be fitted. Normally changing the batteries was done by a proper watch maker who services quite a lot of makes. Well my wife took it to TIMPSONS as to surprise me as it had been dead for some years as it got lost when we moved home and thought it was lost for ever. TIMPSONS managed to. . #1 TIMPSONS managed to break the strap #2 TIMPSONS lost the little black strap holder #3 TIMPSONS broke the plastic watch surrounding ( Luckily my son took a pictures of my watches front and rear ) #4 TIMPSONS did not had not fitted the case properly as it had pinched one of the buttons and it would stick all the time. #5 TIMPSONS managed to scratch the rear casing. . This watch has taken some punishment and never really ever left my wrist. It’s been in high altitudes and in the ocean AOK and I am so glad that I never swapped it in for something a little bit more flashy as it has sentimental value as I got this a few months of dating my now wife.
I just got my ggb-100 a few days ago and I love this watch. I’m saving up now for the new Rangeman. I’m 45 and just started wearing a watch about 1mos ago. So far I have the Garmin Instinct . The Rangeman gw-9400 and the GGB-100. I don’t think the GGB-100 will ever leave my wrist
I have the GXW-56-1BJF. It's got tough solar and atomic time. Also has a much easier to read display than the all black GX-56. My other G-Shock is an MTG-B1000B-1AJF. The coolest, sexiest G-Shock ever!
The frogman is awesome, no doubt but the Rangeman gets title of best all digital G-Shock. Triple sensor, solar, atomic, sun rise sun set times & less than $200!
I just started collecting G-Shock’s myself. I was just looking for a beater for work, but then I learned about tough solar and multi band 6, etc. I currently own a DW5600MS-1, GW7900B and my GW6900-1 is my daily beater. Bidding for a AWGM100-1A to rotate my daily. Hoping to own that Mud Master Triple Sensor one day.
The 5610U might be the best all-rounder. Just the regular slim-profile square is plenty tough for most of us who just sit in front of a computer all day. I had to return the 5600 because I couldn't reliably use the adjust button without a tool.
I agree, that’s why I recently bought one. With the atomic time keeping, solar power, and the fact that it’s the most faithful to the dw5000c in terms of its appearance, in my opinion, it’s the best G Shock money can buy.
I was given a G-Shock at ten years of age, my parents told me it was indestructible which is I guess why they bought it. Big mistake telling a ten year old someting is indestructible, did'nt last a day.
@@bigboiganiga8356 No actually I was just dumb enough to take my parents at their word and attempt to demonstrate such indestrucibility to a freind with a solid whack on the classroom table, the smashed screen was as much a shock to me as it was'nt to my doubting freind.
I have 3 g-shocks but the one I find being the overall best is GW-2310, got it for a steal price of $40 and having world time, tough solar (not having to worry about batteries) and multi-band 6 (self adjusting time) well for me that is just awesome bang for buck there! Would love a gsteel with carbon bezel someday...is just a little expensive for $600 :/
My step-dad gave me an all yellow dw-6600 when I was like 8. Almost 18yrs later my wonderful little puppy managed to find the watch and chewed almost all the way through one side of the band. Luckily the case was untouched so I ordered a black band and it looks so much better
Thanks for the video. My Apple Watch just crapped itself and I wanted to get a simple watch that just won’t break. Picked up a DW5600 because I couldn’t find a DW6600
I own 3 G-Shocks and they are so awesome but different at the same time! Models are GA-800SC-7A White with highlight green colored lettering and light button, looks great! Then I have my beater G-Shock which is the GW-2310 which has multi band 6 which I love for not having to adjust the time and also is tough solar! And last but not least is my DW-5600HR-1CR which is the classic design of the DW-5600 but with negative display & red lettering accents and black and red band! This watch I bought a year ago in Amazon for $69 and now they have gone up to $99! This 3 are great and you should give them a look 🙂
One other thing why I like G-Shocks. You can clean them in the dishwasher, or if you are worried you can wear a cheap G-Shock so you can use hand sanitizer on them, or shower with them on. Something about a clean watch I really like. I mean the harshest environment is the salty ocean water after all.
The DW6600? I was Navy back in the day late eighties early nineties. I had a similar one but had an orange button? maybe?... I also used a Xonix dive watch with velcro strap that lasted for decades, loved that f* watch. I understand your love and sentimentality for an old POS watch. I feel ya.
The one thing about the Frogman is its quality build, materially, which is the reason for its price, and this includes the solid bar on both sides of the lugs for the wristband. It includes dive log functions up to 80 m depth, and has a screen grab record function.
First off I love G-Shocks, but if you have to pick a SHTF watch I would only pick a Mechanical. If some nut detonates a Nuke the EMP would burn out everything but the most armored electrical circuits, any non mechanical watch would be a paperweight.
As a 34-38mm vintage luxury and military watch snob I’ve REALLY looked down on the G-shocks. Then I watched this video. Now I’m both interested and excited about getting one for my type collection. This journey to find the right one will be very fun. Thanks for opening my eyes to new possibilities. Best...
Just bought my 1st G Shock! Guess what it's not on your list GD-350-1BER. it works as both end of world and end of life G Shock! When my hearing goes I will still be able to use the GShock functions with vibration alert/alarm. End of world I will be able to hide or hunt without giving away my location!
DW5600E-1V for the win! It tells time, it's readable, with great electro luminescence display and it has even a timer countdown. The fancy ones are just for fun, but mostly useless. Their design is also silly (a lot of black numbers on black dial and black hands with negative display, making it basically imposible to read in most situations). If there is some "end of the world" situation at some point, then there will be no need for time measuring. I mean you won't have to go to work on time or anything because there would be no jobs. DW5600E-1V will still work if by chance you'll still want to know the time
The venerable 6600 nicknamed the kris Kyle aka American sniper g shock. I’ve got one and you’re correct nightlight is bright. The main complaint I’ve had through the years is that they e never updated the display on the popular models like you show. I’m not asking for much but just wish they could enlarge the time display so my ageing eyes don’t have to squint. That’s why nowadays if I go digital I prefer the pro trek line which have the features I need plus the numerals are larger. Great show, keep it up.
There is an interesting one that flies under the radar: the Gulfman. Not made anymore but you can find it online. Why? It looks quite posh with rust resistant titanium case and screws, and especially it is a bit smaller than most, very wearable. A nautical G that is pretty universal.
I have this old g shock. The straps are orange and the outer ring with the hand dial is silver. The rest is black and silver. I found a picture of it but no name and it said it was no longer made so now I’m tryna fix it to one day sell or wear
The gd350 never gets any love. Decent list. A good mix of your favorites and those g shock icons. But gd350!!! Viberating alarm, world time, and, (in my opinion) the best user interface in the bizz. It's pure joy.
I love my GShock GWN 1000, just truly amazing too, i always use this when i got lost in a very huge malls haha, but i can also use this in comparing altitudes from my room and to any place i go by using a reference point and the altitude diferential, just love the features and also very tough, i would wanna wear this one on a end-of-the-world scenario haha
I started out with the bigger G-Shock's, but found myself wearing the small G-Shock's. See Jory, you do influence people. Enjoyed the video. Love you buddy.
@@jakegwen2393 I run a MBP and chrome... right click the image and select "Search google for image" don't know if it will work for you but it works for me.
I have a GA100CF that I've worn every day for the past 3 years... Love the ruggedness and looks... People still ask me about it... I like the combination of analog and digital displays... One small issue is that the backlight is only good to see the analog time... Can't read any of the digital info... Not a deal breaker for me though... I think it is a good value for about $105.... And the GA100 series has a gazillion color combos...
That's another solid moedel too, lots of people likes the gw-9400 rangeman over the gwg-1000. Personally I like them both equally! I wear them them the most out of all my g-shocks.
Think the Rangeman has to be on the list. All the functionality of the Mud-Master but more wearable. The King looks solid though. Need to add that to my collection!
My first was DW6900, and it's maybe because I had it on my wrist for so long, but I think it's waaaaay better looking than the 6600. I only stopped wearing it when I started at a machine shop and it completely fell apart when exposed to oil and varsol. I am wearing a GBD800 now, and I'm dating a GA700 and a GW9400 RANGEMAN.
This list needs to be revisited, and the new Rangeman GPR-B1000 (RangeBeast) added. It’s at the top of my G-Shock list, just above the Mudmaster GWG1000. It’s kind of like taking awesome aspects of the Mudmaster, the original Rangeman, the King G-Shock, and then adding GPS to it.
I got my 1st G-shock when i was 14..now I'm 36 and now it's still working..☺

I’ve had a 5600 before, but I just got a 5610U. What a great watch!
I have zero feelings towards square g-shocks. But analog with hands are tempting. Especially mudmaster and MT-G series.
I have a Gulfmaster GWN1000B-1BDR and it never leaves my wrist, you must include that as well!
GW-9400 Rangeman all day baby! Altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer, atomic, & solar! All for less than $200.
I got my g shock last year when I turned 11
My favorite watches in the World , specially the DW5600E ….. which is my default watch . I wouldn't be myself without it .
Thanks for the video. My Apple Watch just crapped itself and I wanted to get a simple watch that just won’t break. Picked up a DW5600 because I couldn’t find a DW6600
Seiko for work, Casio G-Shock "Riseman" (G9200BW-1CR) for summits, and Casio G-Shock GW-M5610-1 for everything else. :)
I mean the harshest environment is the salty ocean water after all.
the first gen rangeman is the best bang for buck g shock, my favourite is the frogman though, i love that case
The DW6600? I was Navy back in the day late eighties early nineties. I had a similar one but had an orange button? maybe?... I also used a Xonix dive watch with velcro strap that lasted for decades, loved that f* watch. I understand your love and sentimentality for an old POS watch. I feel ya.
I recently got the GG-B100 and it's the coolest watch I've ever used.
We're all be dead anyway.. No need for timekeeping in heaven.
Best...
G-SHOCK are like unbreakable until you don't intentionally break them to get new one
I have a AW591 and its my every day carry watch.
DW5600E-1V will still work if by chance you'll still want to know the time
How can you go wrong with a G-Shock...you can't, they're great
The venerable 6600 nicknamed the kris Kyle aka American sniper g shock.
This watch has everything you'll need when the apocalypse inevitably happens
The gd350 never gets any love. Decent list. A good mix of your favorites and those g shock icons. But gd350!!! Viberating alarm, world time, and, (in my opinion) the best user interface in the bizz. It's pure joy.
Second this. LOVE my GD350
I got the original gx56 in black and red and its a beast and I love it.
I've got a f91w for my daily watch and it's work perfectly and I wanna buy my first g shock soon a solar dw5600
I work as a butcher in France and I wear g shock everyday. Neo Tokyo and gravity master. And I can tell you they take a beating.
I started out with the bigger G-Shock's, but found myself wearing the small G-Shock's. See Jory, you do influence people. Enjoyed the video. Love you buddy.
How do you get that picture next to your name?
@@jakegwen2393 I run a MBP and chrome... right click the image and select "Search
google for image" don't know if it will work for you but it works for me.
Rangeman should be in the list
Exatly
I have Rangeman!
Frogman is the best
1. Frogman
2 . Gulfmaster
3. King
I love my gwg-1000, but would love the rangeman also. And the king. And the frogman. Hell, I want all of them.
GA-2000 is a very good watch....loved it!
I hate to say it, but most of us won't make it to 2099; that's 80 years from now. Unless you're like 10-20 or so years old watching this.
The real question do you want to make it to 2099?
But our kids and grandkids will
Uh oh I will be 91 then
I just picked up the dual sensor mudmaster and then I saw the triple sensor and now I need that one but Jesus that price tag on it
i had almost all the casio watches ever made but my fav of favs is the Casio GW-9400
That's another solid moedel too, lots of people likes the gw-9400 rangeman over the gwg-1000. Personally I like them both equally! I wear them them the most out of all my g-shocks.
First thing I did to my DW-5600 was put a nato strap on it. I want another g-shock, just not sure which one next yet.
Ga-700/710, I have three of them and they are the only G-Shocks i'll ever need
hey, you forgot the Gw 9400 Rangeman, best G-Shock ever... lots of functions, solar powered and ultra tought
I totally agree!
This video is perfect for all the five-armed men out there
I like only digital GShock. My daily is an Active2, its way more useful. But from time to time, at work, i need a rugged watch. That one is a GShock.
I got my G-shock in 2009 still running on the oem Battery
The 5600 is also NASA flight certified
Mtg-b1000 is my grail g shock. It has all the high tech functions and it looks so cool. You should check this one out!
I own Rolex, Omega, Patek and AP. However I still have room for my Gshock 5610. Awesome watch.
