I have worn my gwg-1000 every single day for almost 7 years now. Doing hard restaurant work and putting it through absolute hell. There is NOTHING that can stop this watch
I bought the gwg 1000 myself. An absolute beast of a G-shock. Can't recommend it enough.
Oh really, you really put a 660 pounds expensive watch into the hell of harsh work environments. I doubt it. I never put an expensive watch like gwg 1000 into a harsh environment unless I get it as free from someone or I could be some one who doesn't know it's value.

Just purchased the gwg 1000 and put my Rolex submariner in the closet. In my opinion it looks much better than the gwg 2000. You made the right decision!

As a tradesman I love my GWG1000-1A3, A year wearing it grinding, working with dust and concrete, working on the car, it bashes against walls and metal and is unphased, the saphire protection was the selling point for me, flawless in any environment! The resin has some scuffs but hardly noticeable and that's what it's there for 😉
If I were to buy the GWG2000 I would buy the stealth black fyi

I just purchased the 1000 for use when outdoors/fishing/hiking. I purchased it due to it's functions in the event I end up spending more time in the woods than I thought and its durability. It dwarfs my wrist BUT I didn't purchase this beast for it's looks I purchased it to potentially save my life (solar, compass, barometer in the event I end up turned around and lost) my other watches can handle the fashion statements. I love it. Once you go G-Shock you'll never go back.
Absolutely! I got into watch collecting as soon as I bought my first g-shock. I own 7 or 8 and the gwg1000 is in my top 3.
Why didn’t you buy the Gshock gpr-b1000 then? It’s the best for outdoors/fishing/hiking.

Great video, and watches. Last year I bought the GW-9500 Mudman, with the positive display, but it still not the best legibility, but after all I didn't return the watch, but I was looking for another mud resistant watches and last week I found a good deal on the GWG 1000 - 1A3ER with the green strap, and compared to the GWG 2000 the legibility and the lume is better. I also like the fact that the crystal is more recessed and protected. But the backlight and the lcd display is better on the new 2000 mudmaster. I was curious about the new rangeman, I like the MIP display, but it is more like a fitness watch, with that charging cable in the box. I'm very happy with the GWG 1000. 👍👍👍
I needed a new rugged all-around watch and I was deciding between this new GWG-2000 and older GWG-1000, which I saw on my friends wrist and was amazed. I decided to get a new GWG-2000-1A3 but I returned it the same day. Then I was lucky enough to find older GWG-1000-1A3 on stock for good price the next day. The difference between GWG-2000 and GWG-1000 is like night and day. Older GWG-1000 model is better, according to my opinion in following areas:
1. Wrist comfort: Old GWG-1000 is much more comfortable on my wrist. The newer 2000 has smaller footprint on the bottom part and it has these edges, that stick out more opressing my wrist bone to the level of discomfort - this was main deal braker for me.
2. Dial visiblity: Worse on newer GWG-2000, less white color on dials, more grey, smaller dial, time zones in inner part distracts readability of the clock.
3. The looks: This is subjective but for me new GWG-2000 looks more toy-like, 1A3 has too much busy colors, it has less presence on the wrist, too thin (easily dissapears under sleeve), for me it didn't feel like a Mudmaster flagship.
It seems most people are choosing the gwg 1000. The main reason I went for it is the comfort. When it comes to the looks I like them both but in a different way.

I have the GWG1000 -1a3 , I swapped the green band with the black band form the GWG1000 -1a1 model. I’ve owned this watch for 2 years and I wear it nearly everyday. It’s the best watch I have ever owned and it’s amazing in every way.
I don't agree. I own both 1k and 2K Mud, and they are both great. Both are like tanks on the wrist. Newer 2K Mud is all new level, premium look and feel, premium materials. Still looks badass. And I am very pleased with new thinner dimensions on the wrist.

Great review! The GWG-2000 with the green strap was my least favourite, although it started as my favourite and is still a nice looking watch. I was having a hard time trying to decide between the other two. After watching many reviews showing the two watches I preferred, I eventually chose and bought one. I genuinely think that the GWG-1000 and the GWG-2000 are both fantastic watches! If you are looking to buy one, you are lucky because you get to choose between two fantastic models. Some will prefer the more rugged look of the GWG-1000 and others will prefer the more expensive look of the GWG-2000 with its stainless steel bezel and carbon. If you love both and definitely want to buy both, you might want to get the GWG-1000 first, before they are all gone, and then save to get the GWG-2000 (retail price £699) or the limited edition GWG-2000TLC-1A Toyota Land Cruiser Tie Up, (retail price £779) that was inspired by the Dakar Rally. I bought the GWG-2000-1A5ER at the beginning of November 2021, because I found it at such a great bargain price I couldn’t resist. I keep thinking about the GWG-1000 as I love the rugged look of it, and If I can find one at a great (bargain) price in the January sales, I will probably buy one.

The more rugged look of the gwg 1000 is why I sent the others back. Also as I mentioned in video it sits on my wrist a bit better.

Thank you for the review. I have the GWG-2000 tan color, I was lucky enough to buy it as soon as it came out before it went out of stock. I love it, but I am a little disappointed with the band keeper, the black resin is staining the yellow band. I was afraid that was going to happen since I had to return/exchange my first GG-B100 orange version because of the same exact reason. I contacted G-shock and their response was to send it for "repair under warranty". Silly to do since it will continue to happen even if they clean it or change the band. Ether way I love it. Thank you again 🤙

Thank you, I thought about the metal keeper too, but the black looks very nice. I feel like maybe the stain helps the rugged look lol. Ether way the metal would be a nice look too but now the bands are stained and it won't come off, so is upsetting for such an expensive watch.
I know how you feel. I used to have an all red G-Shock but sold it because the band and case would get black stain from my clothes 🤦🏼♂️.
I have the gwg1000 1aer ( green strap model) but ordered the yellow strap from Japan, very happy with it 3 years later. Still prefer this model over the gwg2000 which doesn't look as good or premium to me
I have the green version of this Mudmaster and I am totally happy with it! It is a definite improvement over the older one.
You helped me make my decision. Ordered the GWG 1000 because it's bigger. Interesting that Casio decided to go smaller with the newer version.

because smaller is better as it can go below winter jackets. Because Where i live , there will be point between jacket and glove, where watch sits, and it exposes skin to harsh elements

Why the hell would you own more than one? It's not like they are good looking as a fashion statement - I accept the practicality side of things for which you need one.
I recently just bought a gwg 1000 1a3 over any of the 2000s because i was thinking about getting a 2000s since i had been wanting a mudmaster for a while now and there is an upgrade so i thought about getting the 2000 but i dont like the colors on the 1a3 but then i saw the 1a1 or whatever it is, the black and white one, and i had to chose between that or the 1000 and ended up going 1000 and am extremely happy with my decision
A few days after posting the video I sent back the gwg2000s and kept the gwg1000. I think both are great but the gwg1000 is just a bit more comfortable on my wrist.

I believe it was about the same. Perhaps the 1a3er was slightly better but I don't remember well.
The thing that gets me about the 2000 is the lack of all-white hour markers, unlike the 1000 which has very visible and prominent markers. This adds to the legibility and visual symmetry of the 1000.
question: does any of these watches have a dual (GMT) time function? In other words, when I travel can I set the digital time on f.i. CET and (when I go to the USA) the analog time on US-time?
Hi, yes you can. Both the gwg 1000 and 2000 can do that.

I have the exact 1K Mud with green strap. It's a legendary watch, and most likely the best selling Mud model ever. Then I got already last year newer 2K Mud, first stealth grey, and then also the desert send one. I also could not decide at that time :-)
I feel that new green strap 2K Mud is red overkill. So I avoided that one.
As for features and materials, 2K Mud is great step up, premium look and feel, materials, lume, great visible STN display. etc.

Hello, I was thinking that if there are arrows, then there are gears, and how often should they be lubricated? I didn't find any information on this.
I believe they use some tiny motors but yeah there must be gears. I don't have any information about it but for some reason I'm not worried.

For me the GWG-1000 im a huge ALIENS fan and it just looks like out of the films universe! Jim Cammeron used even the Casio Pulse meter for the movie back then! The OD green the yellow the design is damn cool!
I've seen a leather watch band that I really like on watch seeker but can't seem to find a retailer that sells it. Does anybody know where I can find. As of lately I've gotten into the tactical movement with a lot of personalized things. The GWG-2000 fits my liking no matter what the price. The lume on GWG-1000 is superior
I like the gravity master. ggb200. I have the ggb100 but wish I could trade it out. I have become too good at auto altitude differential clearance. I just wished I could get a solar powered one. I really know what I am doing.
The gg b200 is really cool and it has a ton of features. The model with the orange strap is on my wishlist.
I had the gwg1000 but sold it because of the poor visibility of the digital readout. Currently have the gwg2000 and love it. Digital readout is much better and illumination is great. Great fit as well. Both watches were in the "tactical" gray.
I just reviewed the GWG 1000 and wrote up a blog on both the GWG 1000 and 2000, yeah the LCD is better on the GWG 2000 but I still prefer the GWG 1000. No improvements too with charging regime either which is a shame.

Never really cared about the display visibility if I has analog. If it was only a digital G-Shock then I'd think twice about getting it unless it wasn't neg display.

I much prefer the elegant and clean look of the TLC collaboration.

Damn you got all 3? Somebody at casio likes you. 😅😅 I love that they are slimming it down with the new model but I think they need to go further. If they can get it under 14mm this watch will be amazing. Right now its like my Rangeman. Cool watch but it honestly doesn't get allot of wrist time cause I find I'm banging it on things. You would think a couple mm wouldn't mean much but for me it does.
I just borrowed them for a review😁. After the review I sent all 3 back and bought the gwg-1000. It's huge but that's partially why I love it. Perhaps an interesting choice for you might be the protrek 70yt?
In the test mode, 1000 and 2000 show the exact same module number "5365 1".

Having told that, I have the impression that _Casio_ let's say _recycle_ their designs from different families like _G-Shock_ to _Pro-Trek_ even in _Baby-G_ and _Edifice_ and not being bad at all, just miss that the _GWG-2000_ (having the iteration in _PRW_ range in _Pro-Trek)_ can't say the same in _Edifice_ because yes, I like so much that model, design, resistance and endurance but wear that in a work meeting...
The rest of the functions are just awesome, like the compass, barometer, thermometer and so on.
I'm now planing to add a Mudmaster to my collection. I don't interested in GG-1000 and GG-B100 since they are not solar-powered. The GWG-100 is solar-powered and great looking, but it has similar function to a watch I already have. So I'm not interested in GWG-100 as well.
So I only have 2 choices left, the older GWG-1000 and the newer GWG-2000. I think I will definitely go to GWG-1000. Not that the newer GWG-2000 is not good. In fact, it looks better than GWG-1000. But I have a G-Shock with similar design (a metal bezel surrounded by resin case) which is, in my opinion, not ideal for a watch that will be used in dirt and mud a lot. For that application, I prefer a more traditional G-Shock with full resin case over a G-Shock with exposed metal bezel.
In that case definitely go for the gwg-1000. I got one myself and it's really nice.
The designer of the GS is right there with the great honda yamaha bmw of the 90's this guy (I had his name once) deserves a big fat pension & salary, when you can't make up your mind & you go for days looking at them & still can't make up your mind, you nailed it Casio ..genius

I bought the gwg 1000 because I just find it more comfortable on the wrist. However, I'll be reviewing the orange limited edition gwg 2000 next week and it's awesome as well. The ggb100 is a no for me because it's not solar.

Hi, certain shops in Spain still have it but the price a bit too high. In Asia, especially Thailand and Japan they still have plenty of stock and the prices are good. Have a look at Chrono24 as well.

The 1000 model looks cooler but i think the carbon fibre impregnated resin case of the current will be much more stronger for those who like to wear them out of doors a lot. Desert for me.
I was initially planning to get the GWG-2000, but ended up not getting it.
Despite some improvements over the OG Mudmaster, I didn't like the Sapphire Glass crystal sticking out more than it needs to.
Also, the dial itself is noticeably smaller and feels more cramped, as the cities bezel is on the inside.
The use of stainless steel on the bezel feels like a very odd choice for this type of watch, like it's trying to be like the Frogman, despite lacking a metal case.
I decided to get the GWG-1000 instead, and I have no regrets whatsoever, because I know I made the right choice.
Noone speaks about the weight in comment section , i think the 1000 weights more than 2000 , is that a problem ?someone please help Iam planning to buy one soon
The gwg 1000 is just 13g heavier but it's more comfortable on the wrist. At the end I bought it instead of the gwg 2000.

Green strap 1000 and black & silver 2000 are the best two IMO.
Probably equally as tough. The gwg-1000 gives the sensation of being a bit tougher as it has more resin around the case.

The metal bezel in the new GWG 2000 is much easier getting defect or scratch hit by stone or gravel than the old GWG 1000 bezel. Don't you think so ?
Yeah on the bezel it might get light scratches a bit easier.

gwg1k is to way popular...so many other watches looks the same from distance. Even in my country there are so many imitation of this watches. The resin in gwg1k is more durable, scratch proof etc, but year after year the resin will look pale and shinny like cheap plastic on other resin watches. Otherwise the gwg2k will scratch easily but still like more premium. If you only looking for a durable resin gshock, there are more model which only cost 100-200k. 😂 It's a mudmaster, not a scratchproofmaster, and yet gwg2k is still durable as hell. About the stainless steel part...there is a reason why the MR-G use a steel, not a resin. Also the frogman's bezel.

I found gwg 2000 small for my 7.5inch wrist. Decided tp stick with 1000. Also, found 2000 to be a bit more gentle, feminine...on a 6.5inch wrist have no doubt would look good but above 7inch i would not recommend.
Lol. You do realise that with a diameter of 54.4mm and a lug to lug measurement of 61.2mm the GWG-2000 is comfortably bigger than 99% of watches on the market?

You need to get a Rangeman. It has all the functions of a Mudmaster but is cheaper.

For the money, the rangeman is amazing. I've got the GW-9400DCJ limited edition, love it but the display could be better.
Best digital module, but worst build quality out of all the Master of G watches.

I was excited when I saw people saying the 2000 came out but after looking at it, I am glad I kept my GWG-1000 that I got at a bargain few years ago.

GWG 1000 is much better. The 2000 is a diluted version that has no appeal.

IMO, the 2000 is a really ugly watch. Too many colors, way too big lug to lug, Xmas tree at the mode sub-dial. There’s nothing better about it over the 1000. In fact, it is a step backwards.
I also prefer my GG-1000-1A3 Mudmaster or Rangeman to either GWG, so there’s that.
They're all ugly - but they have a practical side which means looks don't matter.
NO, 2000 is Not better looking , dont say crap or say its just your private opinion because you got 3new models and you song like a bird. New one is smaller, less rugged, less GSHOCK in it, toy looking like.... Be truthfully or go
