I am making this video to hopefully help someone out so they don't get a fake watch like I did. The videos I linked below will give even more ways to tell the difference from a real Casio Mudmaster and a fake one.

I just got mine the GWG 2000 ! Watched before ,I bought got all the boxes ticked ! The paper work , Bought off ebay with 2 year replacement warranty 1 year international ! Japan put together Thailand Green band ! At a good price seller offered 1 Thank you ! Top info !

That is great to hear. I'll bet you are enjoying too, as I do mine. We actually have 2 of the 1000 models. Maybe, some day, I'll get a chance to try out one of the newer 2000 models.
One way to test a Fake Mud is to hold the middle light button then press the lower left button afterwards.
The hands should move together out of the screen's way

Well you might want to rephrase that, your method test a real mudmaster, a fake will not move the hands, you e got it backwards

You're a lifesaver. I just bid on one of these and was outbid. It is identical to your fake. The giveaway for me was the model with these colors on the face should have a green band.

Thanks for the help. Just bought a fake mud master locally for $30. Not a big loss but I almost ruined my reputation. I was going to resell it on EBAY and ruin my 100% consumer satisfaction rating. Thanks for the insight and now I just wear it. Mine has that plastic glass covering. However all the dial functions do work
Yep, you have to be careful. There are so many scammers out there these days. It's a shame too, because you do want to be able to trust your fellow man.

Nice video, it's a shame that some people trick others into buying something fake without their knowledge. I love watches, especially casio, even more specially G-shocks, your grandson must be very happy for the gift you gave him.
Noah wares that watch daily. And he wasn't a huge watch person until I gave him that Mudmaster. I'm like you, in that I am a huge fan of Casio and over half the watches in my collection are Casio brand. Thanks so much for the comment and for watching, I really do appreciate it.
They upped the refund to $90.00 after eBay got in on it. After telling them that was still way more than this cheap imposter was worth and I wanted all my money back ( or $200.00 back and I keep the watch) eBay contacted me again telling my they accepted me returning the watch and refunding all my money. Thank goodness.
Do you know if theirs any Law Enforcement like FBI ATF Secret Service Marshals and DEA wears this watch because I’m a son of a former DEA Agent and so I want the MudMaster watch and so do you know if Law Enforcement and Military wears this watch because I want a MudMaster watch so I’m not sure if you recommend that watch and so Do you know if law enforcement wears this kind of watch because I’m a son of a former DEA Agent and my father was DEA for more than 26 years and he was an operative in the DEA so do you know if Law Enforcement would wear this watch or other MudMaster watches because I’m a son of a former DEA Agent and I’ve never warn a MudMaster watch from G-shock

I remember reading somewhere that the Mudmaster is just one of several watches approved by the military. I don't know about DEA or any of the government organizations or police forces. I will say that I've seen the Mudmaster on several police officers wrists though.
I where my Mudmaster daily. It's hard for me to change out to any of my other watches because it's so feature rich, durable and light weight. Plus it just looks bad-ass.
Great video, I have been wanting a Mudmaster ever since I first saw one & I have always had at least a few Casios in my collection because of how tough they are for not much money. I have only just started Ebaying again after being put off by all the fakes, but looks like it is still the same mine field it always was but the fakes are just getting better, oh well, thanks for doing this video, it did help, cheers.

Your video saved me from replica warch was ordered with 300USD
My findings:
-Crown is not working
- No Cairo in worldtime
- small text like alm, WT not clear.
- watch body is matte not as shiny as the original one.

The big giveaway for me was, you saw it on Ebay for cheap. I wouldn't even buy it on Amazon. If and when I buy the GWG-1000, I would buy it from an actual store. An authorized Casio retailer. I know it would probably be overpriced - they gotta make a profit to keep the shop open.
I completely understand why you would say that and would have to agree with you to a point. But eBay is really good about covering the purchaser. And if you get a fake all you have to do is contact eBay and they will make it right. I know, they did for me and several other people I've talked to. I think there was one other person down in the comments section below. He had about the same result as I did when he contacted ebay. But you are right, any cheap watch like this is probably not going to be a real one. But there are used ones out there with scratches and dings and stuff like that on it, that you can get for cheap. And there are replacement bands and outer cases. So you can make that used watch look like new again. Thank you very much for your comment I do appreciate it

I change my SGW100B for a new Mud Resist GG-1000. Honestly, the alarm lost almost 30 % of it noise level. My previous watch had 5 alarms (with SNZ) and my new G-Shock had 5 reminders (with SNZ) and I was not happy with it. I wrote to Casio and they did not answer me ! I think the sound could be upgrade if you put any watch in a glass, a mug, or something to emplified the level. Otherwise, not sure I can hear the reminder if I am outside or at work. Very annoying considering the price I paid.
I don't have the GG-1000 to test for alarm volume (my 2 Mudmasters are the slightly more expensive GWG-1000) but my Rangeman GW-9400 (which is about the same price as your GG-1000 @ $350.00) has fairly loud alarms, for a watch. I am planning on reviewing that watch soon. I don't know what to say about your issue with that watch volume. I can't believe that Casio couldn't get back to you on it either. I've never been replied to from them either, although my question was more on sample watches for reviewing rather than repair issues.

I just don't understand how anyone could be this sick to deliberately rip people off. It sucks. They will try to tell you that they will knock off $10.00 and say "will that help?"... No..!! That won't help. These junk clones aren't worth $50.00. And I mean it too. Those fake watches can be sold for $25.00 to $50.00 on line and they know it because that's where they got it from to rip people off. So don't let them try anything. Tell them to watch my video. And tell them that you won't be happy unless you get either a full refund or they drop the price to less than $50.00 (max). Good luck and stick to this. eBay will get this fixed.
Well it is almost to late … once you have placed an order you will only be able to see these different issues once you receive the watch……rather share the info on the suppliers and sites which sell these fakes to warm people ahead of time . Just a thought
That was the main reason for making this video. To make people aware of this going on. I did get my money back though. eBay backed me %100 and I got my full refund, plus tax, last night.
And you are right, eBay and other places like that, need to crack down on these crooks.

@@franknash7878 When you think of how much a new one costs, arouund $600.00, making fake ones and selling on places like eBay makes sence. They are evrywhere on eBay and you have to be careful. I absolutely love my new, real one, now. I will be reviewing it very soon and will have 2 different models to use in the video too. I have the all blacked out one and the OD green one.

I have ordered a Mudmaster from Japan that has gold buttons, gold ring with the city names on it and red bracelet in addition to a few extra genuine case covers, different real Casio color bracelets and some cheap Chinese knock off bracelets to keep the real stuff looking new.
I just wish that I could find an original owner's manual instead of just a pdf copy.
Mine is coming in a Master of G box instead of the box and tin box you have.
Do you think this box was for the Japanese domestic market vs the tin for markets outside of Japan?
You are correct. For the Japanese market, you got a watch packaged in a nice, cardboard box (but packaged and presented well), as opposed to the tin. Only the American market (and maybe even European market) got tins. I too would rather have the tin though.
As for getting an actual owners book, you might try contacting Casio America. Other than that, eBay would be my next look.
At least, by purchasing from Japan, you've saved yourself from getting a fake (usually). The only downside, of ordering from Japan, is the wait time and of coarse, packaging. You always get Japanese packaging rather than what's marketed to the US (and I think Europe).
@HayesTech The tin packaging is definitely very cool.
Fortunately, my seller used FedEx, so it should be here this Tuesday, which means it will only take a week to get here from a little island off the mainland of Japan.

You have to be very careful this day and age from all those people who want to scam. It's too bad this world is this way. I think the deception is getting worse each day. If people would treat each other the way they would want to be treated, the world would be a better place.

I support making fakes when it comes to watches that they no longer make, or it's snob stuff like "invite only" type watches, and there's only like 5 of them in the world or something stupid like that and you really just want to wear and enjoy it. Hell some of these "master replica" watches go for $500 and upwards with real craftsmanship (usually made using modern machining instead of some 100 year old guy in Switzerland), I think I saw a Rolex one where the freaking master replica was identified as being replica because it used superior components LOL! Hell I have no problem showing off my master replica as a replica! But these Casio fakes are just clearly out to burn people. Zero shame.
One thing I've noticed with these Casio boxes is that sometimes the dealer can mess it up (the boxes) because they obviously put a lot of the watches on display etc, so you might end up with a real Casio, but in the wrong box. So that's something to note.
Your right about the boxes. However, I have other G-Shocks and even ones that come in the smaller box, like my Rangeman (which I will be reviewing soon), and the box that fake came in didn't even match the smaller Rangeman in quality. And your right about purchasing quality fakes. I would too.

I haven't heard of any coming out of Amazon. Its prety easy to send it back too so they cant get away with what they do on places like eBay. You will not get as good of deals on Amazon but it's worth the piece of mind.
Amazon has a strict fake watch policy and authentic items. Also the have a no questions return policy that will cost you nothing. I've purchased some watches from them. No issues
Well not really, because I see you have the time set to your real watch, same time, so if the pull out don't work, then how did you set the time on the fake?
You set the time with them push buttons on the side. The crown is just a fake button. It's a plastic nub with the fake crown snapped over it, to look like the real one. It was so obvious that it was fake...lol

I am sorry but I don't have any links to fakes. But just go to eBay and put is a search for the watch and if you see any that have a price of about $225.00nor less, it is most likely a fake.

Yes they do. If they can make a watch for less than $20.00 in materials, and then sell it for $300.00 and up, they will continue to scam. All we can do is have the knowledge to know the difference.

I've never had an issue with getting a fake product from Amazon yet and I've purchased hundreds of items there. Plus Amazon has one of the best return policies out. I'm not sure about used watched though as I've always purchased new products there.

What happened with this? Did you manage to take your money back? Who is the seller?
I actually got my money back. eBay is really good about that. But it took me a while because he kept trying to get me to take $25.00 off, then $45.00 and finally $90.00. That wasn't enough off the original price ($289.00) to justify the cost is this fake.
I told him that I would go as high as $50.00 for the watch and not a penny more, but he wouldn't take that deal. So he refunded me my money and I sent the watch back. eBay made him...lol...

Lol... Yep. And I figured I would purchase it for future videos, if the price was right. But he wouldn't. I don't know if he was trying to scam intentionally or if he got scammed and figured he would try to re-sell the watch and recoup his losses. I just don't know.

Is the positive feedback percentage a good indicator of legit seller?
Thats a tough one. Because there are ways to manipulate the positive comments with certain tools. Some places have layers of security that stop that but im not sure if eBay is one of those. eBay does have protections in place for the consumer though. If an item isn't "as described" you will get refunded, eventually. But it's best to know deeply about what you are looking for before purchasing. Ask question and ask for specific photos of what your getting before the purchase. This will help to eliminate the wait for a refund all together. It's too bad that the world is the way it is, you used to be able to have some level of trust in your fellow man.
Also, what is your experience with the import, VAT, customs taxes that alot of the sellers refer to?

I'm not sure about that. Most of the items I purchase, on eBay, I always choose items with free shipping.

If it's not as described you can still create a grievance with eBay and still get your money back. Used or new, the item has to be as described. Let me know how it turns out for you.

It will depends on where you purchase on line. One thing about eBay is they always side with other purchaser. As long as you can prove your case. And I had a lot of proof. I got every penny back. The seller wasn't happy about it but that's the brakes. Someone else's, who wouldn't have known a fake from the real thing would have been screwed. But I knew what to look for and inspected it first thing.
