    I used the Rangeman during a 3-week roadtrip/safari in Namibia this year. It worked flawlessly in heat, cold, dust, mud, it didn‘t care about very bumpy gravel roads or going off-road. It was banged again car metal or rocks, buried in loose sand (wet or dry) without any issues. The barometer was especially useful because it would show you a change of weather reliably. It didn‘t have the chance to receive the time signal for more than 3 weeks and it was 3 seconds fast when we came back.

      Since I always carry a backpack with me when hiking, I always found the temperature display on the watch to be pretty useless.
      How many degrees do we have? Wait, I'll hang my watch on a branch for 10 minutes and then I'll tell them. ;-)
      I prefer to keep a small thermometer dangling from my backpack, which you can buy for a few dollars at any camping supply store. /no offense, just a suggestion for people who find this function important. :-)
      But your comment is of course useful for people who are surprised that the temperature is not displayed correctly and that it has to be removed from the arm before you can make a statement about it.

    Great comparation, thanks for the vídeo, any Gshock is unbeatable.
    In my personal opinion (that no one asked 😅) i have the rangeman gw9400, i have sold my mudmaster ggb100, easy i only need one watch, the mudmaster is the best looking watch i have ever seen (big alfa men, clear analogic watch if that is what you need, that is your best option) but one negative digital screen is hardy to read and the information gets short if you really like hiking, camping etc (although is better to have it than don't have it).
    On the other hand the rangeman have 4 digital screens showing more complete information all time (without counting the battery level), e.g. the compass shows you the compas, dirección, degrees and the hour at the same time; the light is just great, easy to read and low profile compared to the mudmaster (so if practicality is important to you I'll suggest the rangeman).
    Cheers ✌🏻

    Excellent comparison. I have a GWG 1000 and a GW 9400 and I can say that the alarms on the GWG 1000 are totally useless unless you wear the watch on your ear. the super reinforced case of the GWG 1000 makes the alarms and Sig function inaudible. On the GW 9400 the volume of the signals is low but at least audible. I am lucky enough to also own a GD 350. Excellent watch at a very low price. The best negative display I've ever seen on a G Shock and the vibe alarm function is magnificent! I don't understand why in these models with triple-sensor reinforced case they didn't add a vibe alarm which would be essential.

    • @wildaboutwatches
      @wildaboutwatches  2 года назад +4

      Yes some sort of vibration would be useful. Until I got my garmin 6x and now 7x I was never woken by a watch alarm. The garmins wake me 90% of the time. If uts critical ill just set two or three alarms on garmin that definitely wakes me. The g shocks a good fun and I wear on my left wrist in rotation (garmin on right)

I must check it in shop today. By the way I absolutely agree that vibration alarms should ab absolutely must thing in, at least Master G models.

    • @MauroPavanelli
      @MauroPavanelli 2 года назад +2

      @@wojciechpatalas6660 Without any pretense of saying I have both watches, I love them both. I have some Gshocks I love gshocks since I was a teenager. The GWG 1000 is a beautiful watch that, due to the size of the dial, can be seen even in total darkness without any light 😄. But the Rangeman offers more information on its screens, more functions (sunset and sunrise) that don't exist on the GWG 1000 or 2000 and a much more practical way of adjusting without using a crown. This allows you to adjust the watch without having to take off your wrist, unscrew the crown and gently pull it out. The Rangeman is uglier and more similar to cheaper watches like the GD350, which I also own and which has a vibrating alarm which makes it very special but it is not tough solar if it were it would be excellent. If the Rangeman had a vibrating alarm it would be the most tactical watch ever. But The GWG 1000 and 2000 series is undoubtedly more beautiful. If I went to war I would take the Rangeman and if they make one with a vibrating alarm it would be the best watch for military and police use. At proms I would use a GWG for sure 😃 And I tell you for sure the alarms and SIG in the GWG make the alarm functions completely useless, the reinforced case of the GWG series absurdly muffles the sound of the alarms and If you want more than time view, the negative display in GWG is small and make it a much more a social watch than a military one.

I definitely prefer the rangeman due to its cheaper price, due to its extended set of functions and for how ergonomically It was designed. I simply love how You can take screenshots of the screen in any mode (You can record your altitude, the pressure and the temp as It was at a specific time in order to confront it with actual value) and how You can directly access the chronometer function.❤❤

    Wondering which of the two has the more accurate altimeter? Frustrating to pay that much for either of the two and have their altimeters vary by over 100 meters in altitude less than two minutes apart while standing in the same place. 445 meters on Mudmaster and 344 meters on the Rangeman. Well if you go Rangeman the current model is black out screen very difficult to see. But these are on ebay new. The muddy is available but more expensive. If you're young good eyes Rangeman if bit older eyes slowly fading then those hands on muddy better.

    digital are better to read they just give you the numbers you want and you dont have to look and wait for watch hands the mudmaster screen is too small and i have to look and guess where the hands are is it closer to that number or that number. rangeman just tell me the numbers in easy to read formats.

      I generally think analogue clocks are more stylish. Especially with the compass function, I think it's nice when the second hand points to the north pool. But I also have to say that if I were to buy a watch model like this, I would rather buy the digital one, as it is simply quicker to see the functions at a glance.

    GWG-2000 is bigger, heavier and more luxurious. There is a problem with the design of its strap, which makes it difficult to adjust to a satisfactory degree of elasticity. I seldom wear it at work, which is really uncomfortable. Even when hiking, the PRW series has the same functions as it and is lighter.

    Rangeman to me is a very unbalanced watch, huge ass watch that has a tiny bit for showing the time, both watches are have nothing special to offer tbh, between the 2 I would spend a little more and get the 2000, but it is way to big imo , but better than the 1000.

    • @wildaboutwatches
      @wildaboutwatches  Год назад +2

      Absolutely agree tbh the Rangeman is nice but its huge for so little space. If your eyes are OK it's fine but for many the mudmaster is much much easier to read the time and for most that is the main thing
      The compass on Rangeman is tiny too unfortunately. It has sunset sunrise times but that not essential.
