- Опубликовано: 30 июн 2024
- The 53,000 Lumen Imalent MS12 has officially dethroned its predecessor the Imalent DX80 as the worlds brightest flashlight. With it's 12x Cree XHP70 LEDs it's brighter than acebeam X80GT and has more range than the Cree CXB3590 version of the Budget Light Forum Giga Thrower I made just a few days ago. The active cooling system enables it to run at high power for longer periods of time.

When he turned it on while sitting at the table it was like looking at a film negative! It was like he exposed another dimension. Philadelphia experiment for sure! Keep up the good work it's almost bright enough to get me to buy it!
I have the neighbor that likes to shine lights in my windows all night this light would be great to get the point across that I don't appreciate it....
Hmmm, might be time for some thick curtains.
An eye for an eye...
He would probably think he was getting abucted by aliens as bright as this is. Lol
Eric Wright, do it !
Time to fightback using this monster.
As your new fan and sub.... best wishes to you and your son. What a team. You two are very fortunate to have each other. Dads like you are VERY rare. Thanks for awesome videos.
Time to forget about the DX 80 wow amazing. I so need to review this light. Outstanding video my friend.
Very impressed with your little science box.
Love that the brands are starting to implement active cooling.
😄 "take that moon"...
We need an Acebeam X80 with active cooling!!!!! Thanks for another excellent video 😎
Unreal! Just fabulous!! Great review!! Thanks
Thanks for another excellent review!
Very impressive video. Like it! Thank you sir.

Holy crap! The lumens race just got more interesting!
Great channel! Thank you for your work.
Thank you for reviewing those flashlights.

1st time watching your content. Smashed the subscribe button. Appreciated the many comparisons of this Flashlight. I felt it gave me great perspective on what this Flashlight was actually capable of. Hope to be getting one in the near future along with a couple of your other recommendations...
I still have my Radio Shack red LEDs from 1983. They hadn't come out with yellow or blue LEDs yet.

Thanks....good demo!
Now that is a darkness killer. I think the active cooling is a great idea. Needs improvement? Does not everything have room for improvement? My quest for enough light to fight off Bioraptor's in the night has been found.
Nice nice and great review, as usual. I still think the astrolux mf04, xhp 70 thrower is the king of lights, currently, although it may not be as bright as this immalent offering.
Excellent video! As always. Insanely bright this one. About the cooling this: you placed the flashlight in a place where the surrounding air does not move much or even not at all. Every cooling system has to dissipate heat. And even when the cooling structure is perfect, still the surrounding air must circulate or at lease move along and take the heat away.
Maybe it is better to place the flashlight in a position outside where the wind freely plays with the dissipating heat. Under normal circumstances there would be a lot more cooling effect.
Yes, in a room with no moving air is a worst case scenario. Outside where there is moving air will help a lot to keep the temps down.
Great review mate like always
I must admit it does look crazy good 😎
I'm happy with my DX80
But I am pissed of that I don't have the BRIGHTEST handheld torch in the world no more 😓
ha ha soon your dx 80 will be at edc level !!! my TM 26 is like a 2 D cell incandescent cheapie in comparison !!! and i wont even mention my TN 31 thrower !!! i better start saving some money to keep up with the jonses !!!
Same exact feeling. Just twice the pain. Lol
@@pigwillnot8281 I'm still very happy with my DX80 😁 It does the job very well !!

I love flashlights myself and ton of lumens. think i just found my guy. subscribed.
Matt, Good job as usual. My MS12 arrived last week, this is a phenomenal flood light with throw, the only complaints it’s still too hot to hold in my hand. If come with a stronger waterproof fan and suppress another 10C will be great. Cause my country is 28-32C in average temperature, humidity is 60% and above.
N Vannote Well, it’s depend on how u define “too hot”,temperature is subjected to how u use the light. For 15K lumen, it’s still holdable, 30K and 53K lumen is just a benchmark, just like a supercar engine, even max output is 500hp, it doesn’t mean u can always push it to the limit at all time, right? No offense dude.
Yard Sale Dale great idea👍👍👍
@@annabellers Agreed 100%
i agree, i think the imalent should come with a fan to cool it down so i can be a hand held flash light. I wonder if there is enough battery power to run a fan?
Oh I would love that. I live in Tassie ,point it in my direction .Man I would be the only one to have one in Australia..
Amazing brightness!!!!!!!

Very happy I stumbled upon your channel. Here I thought my fenix tk47ue was very bright but I see here you managed to capture the sun!
I need this! I love flashlights. Subbing to your channel too!
I’d like to see it from the opposite side and at a distance. Like a radio signal test. What does it look like from that building?
These are cool. I just bought an EDC Streamlight Protac 1L. What a small and powerful flashlight! That 53kl replaces the huge light throwers of prisons.
Nice review. Thanks. At ~ 1:30 you jump from 16,000 to 53,000 lmns and although clearly brighter it didn't seem to be AS bright as I expected jumping that many Lmns. You're jumping almost 4 times brighter but the view across the river and lighting up the dam seemed only maybe twice as bright.
53,000 Lumen wow
Crazy bright!
Yeah I want one !
Not really a flashlight guy, but a hobby machinist and electronics nerd.
Really enjoy your content.
Just a few dumb suggestions… Seems you would greatly benefit from a “flir one pro”. Identifying hotspots and implementing solutions is an integral part of maximizing any cooling system. Takes the guesswork out of it for sure.
Also a vaporizer (with no nicotine) just flavored or something LOL would help figure out how that cooling is working. A little five dollar unit from the gas station would do
Love the content! Would enjoy a tour of your electronics bench.
I just subscribed..Great videos ,thanks..
Would love to see what's inside of this thing. Can you do a teardown?
Very nice !
Its nice that you put your flashlights recommendations in the description, thumbs up! I bought a convoy c8 in tan a time ago. Such a nice flashlight for so few bucks. I had read about it in one of the forums, but completely agree on recommend it.
I feel actually sorry for that one car at about 2:13. "Here is the world's brightest flashlight", and here is a person not expecting that shauit in their peripherals. Like good job not wrecking your car guy (or girl), mad driving skills award of 2019.
It's about time they brought in active cooling.
Now for them to stop rating the lights by the turbo mode output. It's not a 53000 lumen flashlight, it's a 15000 lumen flashlight that can burst to as much as 53000 for a short time.
And that being said, we finally have a 10,000+ lumen light that isn't limited by anything but the capacity of the battery.
annoying isnt it..this car can go 230 mph for 1 second horsepower is 2000 for that 1 second other than that its 800 hp
You could do your own x-rays with this, it must surely be classified as a lethal weapon. Totally awesome.
Wow nice light
raw power ,,love it
Statue of Liberty torch! lol
have you ever tried to put an observer at the other end in long distance throws? just to see how bright the area illuminated from half a km away gets
Well there you go, I want one wow what a beast 👍👍👍
Could I use this light to work on transit bus diesel engines, I am sure its brighter then any snap-on light
Great video , new sub here
I would run the fan even after coming off of turbo or high. I do the same thing with my cordless drills during hard running in that i will run the drill non loaded for 30 seconds or so just to cool it between driving lag bolts or difficult drilling. That is one knarly flashlight.
Matt: "Take THAT moon."
(1.3 seconds later...)
Moon: "What the heck was that?!"
I wanna see this on a drone 😁👍
Get a bunch of alien abduction stories going, turning that on and off above people's houses at night.
Hmmm, I have the x80. Upgrade?? I dont know, the cooling system like you said is nice but falls short a bit to make it worth it. The light output is tremendous. If its 161° after 20min at 15,000L then I wonder after 78min?? Will it glow RED!? HA.
Great review!!!
161°F is 71.6°C. Pretty hot, but not glowing of course. Plus that temp was from inside the light, not on the exterior.
@@JasonWW2000 ok, so not as bad as I was thinking. I hope most of the companies do cooling systems. I checked on the Acebeam x70, I dont think its released yet, so your correct, this is a the moment, the brightest flash light. 👍👍👍
Hey Matt, for these really big, high powered lights I think the lumen tubes are not going to work so well. It's just too much output. Parts might start melting. I would recommend using your ice chest integrating sphere, but modify the interior shape to bounce the light around more and move the sensor so as to avoid direct reflections. You may even need to move the sensor out of the box or put a neutral density filter over it. Then calibrate it with one of Maukka's lights.
You know, I seriously thought about going back to a sphere. I'm even looking into some large globes I found (fingers crossed). In the mean time I picked up $150 bucks worth of PVC at the hardware store :)
Waiting for X70 review.
2:20 looks like its party time for the moths.
hi, so this hold the time battery capacity like specs numbers? thanks
I think the light box contained alot of the heat from the light, which made the light reach those higher temps
Thermal camera would be helpful to find out how cooling system works.
New to the flashlight game lol. From what I see Olight is the top dog
Let there be light!
beautiful lamp, thank you for this review. your are the best !
it will compare with ACEBEAM X70, soon
FOR ME:
BRIGHTEST TINY (Acebeam LEP W10 Throw 1000M or Acebeam EC65)
BRIGHTEST SMALL(Acebeam X80GT)
BRIGHTEST MEDIUM (Imalent DX80)
BRIGHTEST LARGE (Imalent MS12)
That is so BRIGHT you could light fires with that beast of a torch!
They should name it the FLAMETHROWER LOL 😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
Phil Powell For that you’ll need a burning laser pointer
Thanks for sharing. The next generation of HiPo FL are going to have to be liquid cooled. Internal electric water pump running on a separate battery is the only way to maintain any serious long term runtime along with much needed cooling. Reminds me of Porsche and their air cooled motors. Eventually they too understood the need for liquid cooled motors if they wanted to remain competitive in the HP wars and created the 996 and 997 engines. As a collector of more than 100 FL over the past 45 years, I'm often amazed by how excited people become by the latest HiPo Flashlights to only realize that they run on max setting for only a few minutes and then drop their power down by 60-70 percent. This light is a true 15,000 lumen FL. This is of course nothing to sneeze at and deserves respect but by no means is a true 53,000 Lumen light. These FL companies keep trying to see who is top dog by peeing high on the fire hydrant. Give me a dog that pees lower but far longer and he's the true winner. Flashlights are marathon type products, not 100 meter items. Ask any rescue worker and they will tell you hands down, what the best flashlights are and they will tell you in order, Surefire and Powertac. Both lights offer superb build quality and a lifetime warranty. Their power ratings are very conservative. I have put their X10,000 up against lights claiming to be 3x brighter and the Powertac out shined them easily. If I had to add a third company to keep an eye on for quality product, it would be Olight who also builds superb product but are not quite up to the same standards but are 85% of the way there at a fair price point. They do NOT boast the highest power; they post steady long-term power, the best build quality, superior optics and a lifetime warranty to support their product line. I do not wish to bad mouth any other lights as everyone has their favorites. All I'm saying as the owner of several lights from every manufacturer out today as well as several no longer in business, I've had many lights fail on me over the years and as they get hotter they tend to fail far more often. The new standard of measurement must be longest runtime versus highest lumens plus durability, ease of holding and warranty period. When this process has been mastered, the true champions will surface. Again, I thank you for an enjoyable review and I am a subscriber.
I got this light, and it shocked me! This guy was in charge of a garage sale for the house of his recently deceased brother, and he let it go for $6, just missing the adapter, but I found one that works with it, can’t believe how bright this is, it even has a cooling system! Truly some people don’t know what they have
Ill give you double, hell I'll give you triple!!

hello, good morning my friend, I would like to know how to get some powerful flashlights I really like watching videos about flashlights and these flashlights that you put on your videos are very strong, thank you ...
But where is the water test ????.
Not water resistant
imagine looking directly in it
The BLF GT wasn't intended to be a floodlight, the MS12 optics are obviously intended for short to medium range use.
first time viewer here and the head motion is making me seasick :D
cool flashlight though :D
brighter than my future
It's madness that many lumens . Not needed for most of us but just cool to have .
I bought two and use them on the front of my bike
No you didn't
Yea right, I have a Bushnell 1500 Lumens That's yo bright on high for on coming traffic.
I wonder what the practical applications for a light like this are. Fighting vampires?

Not the amount of lumens you have here but ut definitly beats it with the distance!

Hi:
I have been an INOVA T5 Flashlight (old model) proud owner since it came to the market around 15 years a go. My flashlight its still brand new. Today i am planning to use it more than before, so the common CR123, 3V, batteries doesn't work any more for me. Too expensive. I were trying to find the same kind of batteries, but rechargeable. My surprise is the don't existe in good brands. Good brands just manufacture the 3,7V ones. In other hand, regular batteries don't say how many mAh they are, but the rechargeable ones I can find them from 650 mAh to 2600 mAh, or so.
My questions are:
- Do I can use 3 batteries x 3,7V on my T5? In normal conditions should be 9V total, but now I would put 11.1V. Do I will fry something inside the T5? I am not even taken in consideration the fact that both, regular a rechargeable, always comes, or have when finishing to be charged, between 0.1 to 0.4V more than rated.
- If the answer its yes, how many mAh do I should choose?
Thanks and best regards!
looks like the sun simulator
And God said let there be light and turned on the Imalent Ms12 to divide the darkness.

thats more brighter than what we use in our coastal patrol. Great review as always.
Looks like High 2 is the most useful level at 15000 lumens (which is big in its own right) because the turbo of 53000 lumens only runs for 3 minutes which I feel is not very practical when out in the bush fishing or hunting which is where this thing would excel. Certainly not practical in the city and urban environment as 53K is huge. A fantastic light and one I hope to own at some stage. Great review, thanks for posting.
Nice
Only thing I don’t like is the wide spread of light. Is there one of equal lumens but more of a concentration of light like a spotlight?
