      I've honestly had everything you stated.
      Some things I'd add based on personal experience is the small stuff.
      One thing I've noticed this past week is if you're interviewing with the hiring manager, they may give you their business card and tell you "if you think of any questions, here is my info, please reach out to me." I think this is a way of keeping the dialog going. Everyone who's done this has offered me a job.

    To anyone feeling unsure about an interview and seeing comments here from people talking about the duration of their interview (‘mine was 2 hours!’ Etc) and feeling that this is a direct reflection of how well the interview went - PLEASE rest assured that this is not always the case.
    An interview should last for about as long as it’s been scheduled for (usually one hour) - if it goes a little over time, that’s fine.. if it’s a little under the designated slot, that’s also fine. The main thing is that you had chemistry with the hiring manager and the meeting felt conversational above all else. I know people who have gotten job offers after a 20 min interview or after a 90 min interview.
    Best of luck to everyone waiting to hear back from a potential employer and try not to fret too much - what’s meant for you won’t pass you!

Then I started talking and explained everything about my ongoing thesis and i was feeling confirmable throughout the interview, laughing, interacted with interviewers with talk eyes and I tried my best to keep them engaged. Then they gave me a couple of problems I could only manage to complete one part out of three parts with the help of interviewer ;p second task was also solved 50 percent then they asked me when you're available to join. I'm overthinking either they would hire me or not because they conduct only 2 interviews and today was 2nd and last.

    • @1bosstv
      @1bosstv 3 года назад +1

      @@ProfessorHeatherAustin Learning something from the interview is a good thing, no doubt. But at the end of the day, anyone who interviews has the goal of getting hired. Whether or not you were hired is the ultimate question no matter how you slice it.
      Sometimes you don't get selected and you don't know what went wrong. Maybe an internal candidate applied, maybe the son of a hiring manager applied, maybe your skin color cost you, maybe your accent cost you, could be a thousand other reasons. Knowing there's a problem is half the battle. Knowing what the problem is so it can be fixed is the whole battle.
      Often feedback is not provided because of potential lawsuits. And it's always the hiring team that has control of who gets in and who does not. A candidate may have been preselected and all 255 other applicants were dead on arrival.

    I recently applied with a company for a real estate investment staff accountant position. I had 2 phone interviews, 1 panel interview (3 people), and a final interview with the CFO of the branch i applied to. I felt great about the first 3 interviews but on the final interview i felt like it wasnt as good as the other ones but at the end of that interview he was really worried about me finding a job and said that he is going to talk to the panel and get their feedback then talk to HR and either send me a rejection or a job offer. He said that if i get a job offer or if im close to getting one to reach out to the office manager to see if they can hurry the process along. I feel like that is a very good sign but this guy was very difficult to read and i am not sure where i stand with him. What are your thoughts?

    4. I was told "I'll be in contact with you soon, I have another interview. Im going to check if you will be with company A or company B"

    I have just had an interview at FedEx for Corporate Security Officer, the Interview wasn't easy and for me it is hard to if it went well. First, it was panel with 3 managers, all of them asking me scenario and behavioral questions, the site manager gave me a paper with a long reading and told me to paraphrase the whole reading as if it was a security report and I had 10min. I did it the best I could. Then, 5 min presentation of why I'm the best candidate for the position? I wanted to finish but, the manager stopped me before I say my last sentence. After that the other questions went relatively good. When I was talking, the manager's were writing down a lot of stuff and scoring my answers. I asked them about 6 questions, the manager's answers where very long and detailed. After that they told men that they will be interviewing more candidates and in 2 or 3 weeks will receive some news if I get hired.

Well it had been 5 days so.i.was confused and just decided to leave it alone. She called back immediately to explain that I would hear from them next week cuz she'd been out of the office and she did not want me to feel discouraged and think I hadn't gotten the job. I interviewed for a manager role at company and did not get the job, I feel like one of the directors and I would not mesh well but I kept it professional and thanked everyone after rejection letter. 1 month after rejection letter I received a call from a different recruiter at the same company saying I was referred to them by the other recruiter. This was a more senior management position paying about 50k more. I interviewed and this time got to the last round which was a panel interview (2 rounds last time). I asked at the end was there any color I could add or based on our conversation was there’s anything that made them think I was not a good fit and received nothing but praise from all three including hiring manager. I sent them all separate thank you emails with my 90 day plan attached since we ran out of time. I will update with how this story ends.
