I just had a interview with a job that I have experience in. The interview went well it was about 30 minutes. They really gave great details about the job so at the end he asked me if I had any questions. I said no that I was satisfied with everything. I was told that they had other candidates to interview as they have 4 positions to fill. It's always good to have questions for your interviewer, it shows that you're invested and really want to work there. 4 positions is good news, that means you have a high chance of getting one of them!
It be a waste of time for someone to do an interview they call for you to have an interview after that no contact from them. Sometimes, rejection be God's protection. ❤

So I did the first interview with a recruiter and then an interview in person with the hiring managers. I got insight that I did well. They said I would hear back at the end of the next week. It’s the end of the week. Nothing yet
I just bumped into your channel and I appreciate how you take time out to reply questions. So I had my first remote work interview 3days ago, it went from the supposed 45mins to 1hr 38mins.. There were 3 interviewers BTW. In the beginning, one of them said they liked how I am already picturing myself in their team after I answered the usual; tell me about yourself question.. Along the line, another said, she liked my confidence.. Then when I was asked why they should hire me, after my explanation, I pulled out a work plan of what I’ll be doing on my first 90days if I become successful and one of them left a thumbs up on the screen.. The lead interviewer then said, I came really prepared.. Then he asked what my salary expectations were and when I mentioned he asked if we could negotiate and we did.. In the end he mentioned that, they have other candidates to interview, but if I’m successful, the next step would be to review my docs. They even forgot to ask me if I had any questions and when they were about to log off, I rose my hand to ask my question and they apologised, and answered my questions really well.. What do you think?
I expressed excitement for the role early on in the interview, so they did not sell me on the job (I did feel like I built a good rapport with the interviewers). Also, I did skip one question, that I returned to later with an ok, but not great answer. Other than that, I felt it went well because the other signs were all favorable. I do not feel confident in getting the role because they are interviewing 16 people for 4 positions (we are all internal). If it were an external posting, the competition would be higher. It's tough out there folks, good luck.
Last phone interview felt strange. It was like they laid out everything too easily. It is a 10-figure company. We went the full 30 minutes though. They only asked me two times about my experience. Right off the bat they already told me the salary. I didn't even have the chance to ask my more important questions; for example: why they're hiring, benefits, and future career goals; because they answered all that when they told me the position opened up due to a promotion. Supposedly an upcoming round 2 interview. I like to leave the smaller questions for emails, and they got back to me the same days.
If there's one thing I hated about a recruiter is that he asked me "stupid" questions, questions about my field that he didn't know anything about it, obviously, he Googled it and got a brief description, but at the end it made him look really stupid as well as other questions, I ended up contacting the company straight they had many developers and engineers, when these ones started asking questions, then wow finally I am with my people, I have no idea why companies hire all these stupid "recruiters" companies, you don't need these fools, you already have the right people to interview at your place. Save your money and make these idiots go flip burgers if they're good at it at least.
I had a terrible interview yesterday 😢...i feel like I didn't give best answers and talked way too much 😂. I'll wait to hear from them next week..in the meantime, I'll keep searching
For the last few months, I thought my past interviews went well & never got the job. The last interview I had went well until I got a bad feeling at the end. I don’t even know anything anymore. I hate the job searching process so much.
They told me “we’re having more interviews this week, so don’t look too into it if you don’t hear from us right away” she responded to my thank you email and said “be in touch soon” good or bad??
I had an interview on Tuesday. They said I'll hear back Friday, tomorrow. They had their cameras off (4-person panel), and I couldn't understand if they liked me or not at all. 😢 They tried to sell me on the job at the end, but they asked 1 follow up question in the beginning. I feel like I bombed it. I'm so stressed out. 😢😢😢
It's weird that no one had their cameras on but I don't think that's a sign of anything. How do you think you answered the questions? Let us know if you get the job!
@@CareerShakersI got the job! ❤🥰🙏🏿🇺🇸 I thought I answered the questions well, but the follow up question threw me off at the beginning, making me think I wasn't answering well. With their cameras off, I couldn't see even an eye twitch or smile to connect on a human level to see if they understood my responses. Then there were questions that in some ways were very, very specific and in other ways very vague (ex When was a time that you developed a new system/process and how did you do it? What was the outcome?). My mind answered right away, but later I thought 'what KIND of process/system', wondering if I shared an example of the right type of system! 😂❤😅 🤦🏾♀️ It's an IT job, but types of processes and systems are a plenty. This video helped me. Thank you!
I'm a CMA I have worked primarily with Diabetic and Pediatric patients. I applied for a Behavioral Health clinic a psychologist and two more clinic administrators interview me and the psychologist was asking completly not "introduced yourself" type questions I almost ended up crying. I don't think I would get the job at all.
I started my job search in March 2024. I got rejected on all my interviews. I just recieved a rejection letter. In my past, i would do an interview not knowing anything about the company. I would have regular conversations. I would get the job the very next day. Should I go back to my old way of interviewing?
From 2020-2023 companies were hiring like crazy so it was much easier to get a job back then. Now that the competition is so high, you need to do a lot more to stand out. I don't think not practicing is ever the best solution...
4:25 But how do you remember what answers you shared? I assume you don't write them down as you are answering the questions. But for me, I write down all the questions - and ask them to please repeat them until I get the entire question.
After each interview, I write down all the questions and which examples or "stories" I used. For the hypothetical questions, you don't need to write the answers you gave. It can be tough to remember all the questions and all the stories, but write down what you can. Also, we all have those really good stories that we use in every interview, so try not to use those more than once
Well, I had an interview today and I bombed it hard. It was so bad to me that I considered cutting off the meeting call and never trying again. I don’t know how it will turn out. Nonetheless, it’s all good.
i had an interview a few weeks ago. The hiring manager told me that she wasn't sure if the talent acquisition specialist went over the next steps with me but they aren't going to make any decisions until january since they have a few more people to interview, and i was the second person that they interviewed. Also at the end of my second interview the hiring manager asked me to submit some examples of my work. Are these good ish signs?
First, it's a good sign that you even have an interview right now. The job market is super tough! It's a good sign that they asked for samples of your work, but it's a "medium" sign that they said they want to continue interviewing other people. That means your interview went ok, but not amazing.
What if scenario: 1. First round was for 30 mins, interviewer finishes in 21 mins. Makes notes throughout. 2. Interviewer was engaged throughout. 3. Tells candidate, we are still interviewing other candidates BUT DO NOT WORRY, you will hear from HR IN couple of days 4. Calls ends with appreciating candidate taking time to give interview. What do you think? Moved to next level or rejected in first level?
Hard to tell, you could've answered the questions so well and thoroughly that the interview ended early. Also, HR will contact every candidate to tell them if they're moving forward or not so #3 doesn't mean good or bad. Let us know if you passed!
Had an interview today for a professional services consultant role that I think went decent, not amazing by any stretch. Did mention he did have a couple/few more people to go through and I should expect something early next week to say if I make the 2nd/final interview, im honestly feeling pretty nervous just thinking about the interview I just had. I know its a bad sign when you say no when they ask if you have any experience with x however the interview went for the full duration of 30 minutes, so I don't know how to feel.
Keep us posted on how it goes! for consulting roles, they usually only hire folks with that experience since it's hard to convince a client to pay for consulting services from someone who's never done it before. Keep going!
I had an on-site interview the other day, I felt like I needed prompting on a couple of questions but the interview ran over almost an hour in addition to the 90 minutes that were scheduled (I had five different people asking me questions). The most senior member who was in charge of the interview kept getting calls (production line had stopped) and at the conclusion of the interview said he better take the call or he’ll get in trouble. This could be positive because why risk getting in trouble over a candidate you have no interest in hiring? But equally what if I was taking too long to answer questions and it was seen as a negative? Overall the experience was very positive so I’m hoping for good news.
I'm not sure if I'm overanalyzing, but yesterday I had a panel interview with a company. The company explained in the interview that they had a few more candidates to get through this week, but that they will make a decision, when they want the job to start, etc. Today I find out that there is a very similar job that posted yesterday on indeed which is very similar to the job, but it seems to require a little less experience. In addition, I looked at the company website, and the job is posted there. I know that it is the same job as indeed because it had a job id, which is the exact id listed in the company's website posting as well. And judging by other job postings, this is a unique ID for the posting itself. One interesting detail is that on the company website, a job with the same description was posted with a start date yesterday and a unposting date this coming sunday, just 5 days. Then, right when I started this youtube comment, I tried to refer back to the company website to bring up the job listing, and its gone (it early and not working hours yet). I'm not sure what, if any, this means for my job application/interview.
What aboutage. I am older, physically fit, with good exprrience and an education. They see my gray hair and look at it as a negative. What should i do? Tint my hair?
As a recruiter I'll be honest, looking older can help you if you're applying for more senior level roles like manager and above. What kind of jobs are you applying for?
If you "skipped" a question i.e. didn't have an answer to it that has to be an automatic fail. In other words if one of the questions was "Tell me about your experience as a group leader or instructor" and you don't have that, you are never going to be hired. You have to have an answer to all questions, otherwise you are not remotely qualified, that is a dead ringer, don't give them a reason not to hire you that is that easy.
It's definitely not a good sign! But sometimes you can recover by sending a follow up email answering the question and hoping it's enough to "save" you. Always worth a try!
i interviewed with one before.. he was rushing infos and didnt answered my questions that well..like short answers and i knew that time it was over already xD
I had an interview on Tuesday they seemed to smile and we were engaged they even told me about the dress code and told me which days i might have come to the office if i get the job So they said they will get back to me next week after they interview everyone this week I was confident now im just nervous
Thanks for checking up on me i unfortunately did not get the Job and I had few interviews after so no matter how well you do in an interview or how well you dress there will be scenarios where there are suitable candidates for the job but I do pray and find a Job
@@israelphiri2471 Don't get discouraged! It's a really tough job market right now. I saw someone who went to Harvard, worked in investment banking, then Facebook, only got 2 out of 100 responses to his job applications
I made it to the group discussion round with Deloitte. It was the most exhausting interview I've ever had. To the point where I just went ahead and withdrew my application. I'm great at what I do (which involves being alone 9/10 not needing to interact with others lol) but HORRIBLE at interpersonal communication. And I probably come off as an asshole because I'm very short and to the point. My federal job pretty much just required me to take technical test to confirm my skills, get a security clearance, and start. I wish other companies did this or had other methods to screen potential candidates as not everyone is great at the standard interview.
Sounds like you find a great job and a good culture that makes you happy and successful. That's more important than anything else because a career is a long time to be unhappy
What if I thought we were enjoying the conversation, but when I asked about the hiring process. They said they tried to be more time effective on hiring, I might heard back in couple weeks for talking to HR again or talking to another team member then HR. I'm just curious does it a bad sign when they said "couple weeks"
Hmm couple of weeks could be a bad sign. If they really like you, they'd want to move quickly with your interviews. But this sign by itself might not be bad news, some companies also want to give everyone a fair chance at interviewing so the couple weeks could just be to equitable
I got hired by a small company that kept delaying. They were just slow at getting everyone together for the interviews as people were on vacations. It’s possible it can be either.
My interview went only for 8 mins, interviewer join late, in my introduction he interrupt in between & stopped. There are 2 interviewer. Ask only 3 question out of which I answer 1 and then he left. I don't understand if they predecided they don't want to hire or what is this sign.
I sent a follow up mail one week after the interview to which they replied that they'd provide an update in the coming week or thereafter, 2 more weeks passed by with no update now it's 3weeks from my interview with no update. What should I do?
I worked with a recruiter and noticed their job is to make money. They act as if they are only working with you for this position meanwhile they'll send dozens of applicants to compete with you even unqualifed applicants.
Recruiters at agencies are paid for every person they hire, but if you're working with a recruiter who is an employee of the company, then they are paid salary. In either case, a recruiters job is to make sure they present as many qualified candidates to the hiring manager as possible, so you will always have competition when you are interviewing. BUT if you are the best person for the job and interview well, you should get picked :)
I skipped 1 out of 4 and got the offer, which I rejected because to me it was a red flag. They were likely desperate to fill a position the incumbent abandoned.
i think I blew an interview for being overly excited. I know t he job very well and I made it pretty clear as well as being overly excited the whole time. but in my defense I'm passionate about that job because i know the equipment and I just couldn't help myself. I think I blew the interview because one of the interviewer said "wow you're really eager" but it didn't sound good when he said that.
Nothing wrong with confidence and knowing the type of work involved like the back of your hand as long as you're not cocky or a braggart. Confidence with experience is key. The only issue may be is that they won't pay you what you deserve
So I had an interview that went amazing didn’t even feel like an interview almost. I went for couple rounds of interview. First with Manager, then Director and VP individually virtually. Then i went physically to their office where I met all of them face to face. No, there's a lot I don't agree with here. Maybe because I'm in software engineering and it's different, but for example when you say it's bad to say "I don't know" for an answer, that's actually not a bad answer at all. Not the best, but it's even worse to start guessing out their ass. My past companies have actually recruited these people for being honest.
Thank you for your perspective. I also interview and hire swe's. But for any job interview, if your full answer to an interview question is "sorry, I don't know", it will not go well. You can say that you don't know, but then you should start to whiteboard a potential solution or explain how you would try to approach the problem and ask for feedback. Our engineering managers would prefer you try something so we can see your thought process and how you handle new problems rather than give up and ask to skip a question

Group interviews are a classic sign that you’ll never get the job group interviews are a way organizations use to eliminate the candidates they’re pretending to hire all while the position has already been filled internally. I’ve been to a few group interviews in 2008 and wish I had just walked off. One was at the ministry of justice in my old home country of new Zealand I arrived and was left waiting on a 100 degree room with 10 other applicants they kept us there 30 plus mins over the scheduled interview time. They kept us in an office where we had to say who we were etc some were very scripted meaning that they already work there and are pretending to be interviewed. They then kept us in for 5-8 hours without letting us leave for lunch there were “note takers” in the room however the guy sitting behind me who was supposed to be taking down notes was only pretending to write his pen wasn’t even clicked down he was writing on his paper not writing anything at all. then we got interviewed finally at the end which was just fake and then once I got the rejection call later that evening I told them that I knew that was all fake and waste of my time.
Sorry you had that experience! But not every panel/group interview is a sign that you aren't getting the job. I know lots of companies who all require every candidate to do a presentation and group interview. This is very common for consulting companies and strategy & operations roles
it seems that these interview are really robotic interviews..not human interviews..so our nation is sick just to follow some rules and steps..ROBOTS RUNS

These don't sound like bad signs. It could just be how they like to operate, direct and efficient. Let us know if you got the job!

I don’t think got the job
Useful tips pal. I recognise some of them from past interviews.
Never heard of coming back to a question.
Good, don't do it haha
For the last few months, I thought my past interviews went well & never got the job. The last interview I had went well until I got a bad feeling at the end. I don’t even know anything anymore. I hate the job searching process so much.
so sorry to hear that! what are the signs that make you think it went well?
They told me “we’re having more interviews this week, so don’t look too into it if you don’t hear from us right away” she responded to my thank you email and said “be in touch soon” good or bad??
they told you not to look into it so you can't really tell...let us know if you got the job!

Sorry that happened! Why do you think you started crying?
How about this one. When an interviewer says if I have any questions faily early in the interview about the company or role?
I don't think that means anything good or bad, it's a standard thing interviewers do
Well, I had an interview today and I bombed it hard.
Unfortunately I didn’t get the job but at least they actually let me know instead of ghosting me.
First, it's a good sign that you even have an interview right now. The job market is super tough! It's a good sign that they asked for samples of your work, but it's a "medium" sign that they said they want to continue interviewing other people. That means your interview went ok, but not amazing.
What if scenario:
1. First round was for 30 mins, interviewer finishes in 21 mins. Makes notes throughout.
2. Interviewer was engaged throughout.
3. Tells candidate, we are still interviewing other candidates BUT DO NOT WORRY, you will hear from HR IN couple of days
My 2nd interview was very short, that kind of makes me nervous.
Did you end up getting the job?
Had an interview today for a professional services consultant role that I think went decent, not amazing by any stretch. Did mention he did have a couple/few more people to go through and I should expect something early next week to say if I make the 2nd/final interview, im honestly feeling pretty nervous just thinking about the interview I just had. I know its a bad sign when you say no when they ask if you have any experience with x however the interview went for the full duration of 30 minutes, so I don't know how to feel.
I wish you the best, I also had an interview today
Keep us posted on how it goes! for consulting roles, they usually only hire folks with that experience since it's hard to convince a client to pay for consulting services from someone who's never done it before. Keep going!
"So. What benefits do I get if I DON'T get the job?"
Freedom😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😂😂
Keep us posted!

Maybe someone on their team left and it created another opening, or their doing a re-org and a new job is being created
Probably worth it to take some basic writing courses.
I’ve had some weird interviews then. One interview was selling me and preparing me for what to expect. Never got hired.
Sorry to hear that. Did they give you tips after the first interview? Did you do the full interview panel and then not get hired?
Whoever they ended up hiring, was a disappointment, and eventually regretted not hiring you.
@CareerShakers You spelled the word "problem" wrong in your video 1:47. Just thought I'd point that out.

Two minutes in, I realized that I was in a " courtesy interview " as they had their previously selected candidate.
Ouch sorry to hear that!
Thanks for your response! They replied me a day after with an invitation to an on-site interview! @@CareerShakers

so sorry you had a bad experience with that company!
I sent a follow up mail one week after the interview to which they replied that they'd provide an update in the coming week or thereafter, 2 more weeks passed by with no update now it's 3weeks from my interview with no update. What should I do?
sorry to hear! I would try calling your recruiter for an update. It's unusual for companies to ghost
What if they said “If we decide to hire you” after explaining job duties and the process? Because honestly I immediately felt bad about that emphasis
I don't think it's a good or bad sign, they're just explaining what you would be doing in the role. let us know if you got the job! Good luck

They aren't wasting your time on purpose- based on your resume, first interview, or referral they thought you would be a good fit for the job. But then your interviews didn't go as well as they hoped so they aren't moving forward.
@@CareerShakersWell, what you said is precisely why you need to apply to dozens, if not hundreds of positions at a time, so you land enough interviews to have multiple options in the event you start getting offers.

@@PrimericanIdol The volume definitely helps! Try to customize your resumes as much as possible though so you give yourself the best chance and don't get blacklisted

Sorry you had that bad experience!
I went to a group interview, but it was for a new store opening up, so there weren't any internal candidates.
it seems that these interview are really robotic interviews..not human interviews..so our nation is sick just to follow some rules and steps..ROBOTS RUNS
