Do you have any recommendations for software engineers looking for resume writer and LinkedInd optimizer?
Never, ever, work for a company started by academics. They will pay you crap wages and work you 80+ hours per week.
What planet are you from? Employers don’t give out 36 month contracts. 6-12 months tops.
Very helpful and practical info ! Thank you very much for sharing !
'As a fortune 5 recruiter' AKA someone who TBH looks over the first paragraph of a resume, and doesn't really care that the companies he works for mistreats the workers he's hiring
English mf! Do you speak it?!?🤯
I don't get it if you were to reject someone why would you discuss about shift timings or what is the current CTC of that candidate. Don't invite candidates for interview if you are going to reject them anyways.
I have finished 3 interviews and received an email to be introduced to a Higher manager within the same week. However, the week finished and i haven't received the introduction or any update / reschedule or any response from the recruiter.
I would give it a few more days and then follow up with them. Keep us posted!
@@CareerShakers I followed up asking if the introduction was postponed or if the company chose to proceed with another direction or candidate. i received a somewhat defensive email about the process which probably to high load they thought i was pushy. So immediately i get the unfortunately email. Now from that i knew this isn't the place for me, if this is the Candidate treatment then it is worse for the employee with clear poor time management, communication and timelines.
f audio
Sorry about that, Zoom recording audio was buggy so only one earphone/speaker works but I'm making a new video about SWE behavioral interview questions!
Two minutes in, I realized that I was in a " courtesy interview " as they had their previously selected candidate.
Ouch sorry to hear that!
Great tips

I have been patiently waiting for a month now, and I understand that there may be some financial constraints. I kindly request an update on the status. I received this reply : Thanks for your interest on being part of out team, we now need to establish the new Budget for the New Fiscal Year, as soon as we finish this process will be able con continue with recruitment efforts and if selected you will receive a notification through email.
A month does sound unusual, but maybe they have a hiring freeze and don't want people to know about it...
I am so tired after I return from work that I have to rest and sleep over an hour. I dont have energy for sport or hobbies or going out to nightclubs etc.
Sorry to hear! Is it job itself or the company that makes it so tiring?
@@CareerShakers I think both. And perhaps because I the job is a bit too difficult to my capacity.
@@thorsrensen3162 the second part will get easier over time. so maybe give it a few more months, then consider switching companies

I just had an interview, two bomm MF* kept asking technical questions like i am a f* AI human.. these recruiter need to relax and keep their questions simple and focus on the character that they are hiring. Like yoo interviewer is already sweating and frustrations rolla coaster, and this automatically will reflect on the interviewer answers
My interview went only for 8 mins, interviewer join late, in my introduction he interrupt in between & stopped. There are 2 interviewer. Ask only 3 question out of which I answer 1 and then he left. I don't understand if they predecided they don't want to hire or what is this sign.
so sorry you had a bad experience with that company!
My interviewer asked if I was available on a a certain date for orientation which I said I was available. However towards the end they said they were still interviewing other candidates and to check the following week. I’m very confused. They were smiling and I made them laugh a couple of times but that last comment made me question my position in the interview.

Thumbs up! Can you do a video about how to do well for an on-site interview? Especially if theres a session about white-boarding/ problem solving with stakeholders
I had an interview on Tuesday. They said I'll hear back Friday, tomorrow. They had their cameras off (4-person panel), and I couldn't understand if they liked me or not at all. 😢 They tried to sell me on the job at the end, but they asked 1 follow up question in the beginning. I feel like I bombed it. I'm so stressed out. 😢😢😢
It's weird that no one had their cameras on but I don't think that's a sign of anything. How do you think you answered the questions? Let us know if you get the job!
@@CareerShakersI got the job! ❤🥰🙏🏿🇺🇸 I thought I answered the questions well, but the follow up question threw me off at the beginning, making me think I wasn't answering well. With their cameras off, I couldn't see even an eye twitch or smile to connect on a human level to see if they understood my responses. Then there were questions that in some ways were very, very specific and in other ways very vague (ex When was a time that you developed a new system/process and how did you do it? What was the outcome?). My mind answered right away, but later I thought 'what KIND of process/system', wondering if I shared an example of the right type of system! 😂❤😅 🤦🏾♀️ It's an IT job, but types of processes and systems are a plenty. This video helped me. Thank you!

very interesting, question: how do you know a company is using the applicant tracking system. If a company is not using the tracking system is it really needed to change the layout? I am only asking about the layout because my CV has a margin on the left.
Every company has some form from ATS unless they're collecting resumes by email. You can always test how your resume looks by exporting it as a txt file and seeing what it looks like
I had a second interview with a higher-up at a job after the initial interview with the committee. I gave them some "analogies" and examples they liked. The hiring committee provided a comfortable interview; it had to be one of the best interviews I have had. The higher-up told me at the end that she saw why they chose me as a candidate to speak because I'm enthusiastic, eager, and energetic and that she also liked the examples I gave and said that I had all of the theoretical stuff down packed. She said that it may be a few days because there are other candidates and that HR will contact me. I wonder if I'm getting the job. But she was smiling, asking me a lot of questions, and the interview lasted about 40 minutes when it should have been 30 minutes. I didn't have any questions but was asked to make a "concluding statement as to why the job is important to me and summarize all my strengths for the position. Ugh. I haven't done interviews in over 20 years. I'm looking for a new avenue of employment related to my educational field. I put in about 30 applications in about 2 months, and this is the first job to call me for an interview. They were really nice and worked together as a good team. I'm hoping to get the position.
I got a call from HR she took my initial phone screening and said if your cv is shortlisted we will call you again but now it's been 8 days and I haven't received the call yet and I'm worried could someone please tell me is 8 days normal to wait or I lost my chance in cv shortlisting??
You can follow up since it's been 8 days. Keep us posted if you move forward!
I'm so happy I stumbled on your channel

I had an on-site interview the other day, I felt like I needed prompting on a couple of questions but the interview ran over almost an hour in addition to the 90 minutes that were scheduled (I had five different people asking me questions). The most senior member who was in charge of the interview kept getting calls (production line had stopped) and at the conclusion of the interview said he better take the call or he’ll get in trouble. This could be positive because why risk getting in trouble over a candidate you have no interest in hiring? But equally what if I was taking too long to answer questions and it was seen as a negative? Overall the experience was very positive so I’m hoping for good news.
Keep us posted!

great insights on some of the important things you would be asking yourself before switching careers or making a next move. I like all the points, but one thing to add is the age factor also plays a big role in deciding on how you want to transition to the next level. Its easier to move around in your 20s or 30s, but tough in 40s - 50s because of share volume of career experience gained after graduation. In my opinion, industry do matter after you have gained significant experiences (10+ years), but that's just my opinion.
Thanks for sharing! Great advice
Thank you. You pt me in the context. I was lost

I went for couple rounds of interview. First with Manager, then Director and VP individually virtually. Then i went physically to their office where I met all of them face to face. It has been 2 weeks already and still no call back. The physical face to face interview was more of a getting to know me. Should I give them a couple more days before I follow up? I am very anxious as I really want the job
Sorry to hear! usually i recommend you wait a week before asking for an update so did you get an update from them?

Do you recommend a specific writer for Healthcare Administration?
Sorry I'm not familiar with healthcare admin jobs so there isn't a resume writer I can recommend
They did not say anything after completion of the interview. What does that mean?
That by itself might not mean anything, did you see any other signs?
So I had an interview that went amazing didn’t even feel like an interview almost. The hiring manager also gave me the opportunity to chose of what clinic i’d like to work at and took my classes into consideration, When i was about to leave she said she’d call me that afternoon or first thing the day after in the morning. Its day 3 and i still haven’t got a call and i even texted her following up and asking when i should be expecting to get a call. What do you guys think i got the job or no. Am i overthinking??!
How do you know the interview went amazing? What about your interview answers helped you stand out?
So I did the first interview with a recruiter and then an interview in person with the hiring managers. I got insight that I did well. They said I would hear back at the end of the next week. It’s the end of the week. Nothing yet
Sometimes they get busy, did they ever call you back?
Is hearing the terminal manager say, " I'll call you," a sign. Before I got my current trucking job that I L❤VE, I applied to another company, which they paid to update my medical card 😅 🤷🏽♀️. Didn't get that phone call, but I like to think that GOD protects us with rejection. Persevere people, you will get a job. Good Luck ❤
Wow that’s crazy!
Hey, I have got many referrals after good text conversation on linkedin. But didn't get interview calls. So, my question was even we do phone calls. We have the same thing to say whatever we sent in linkedin message. How will this maximize the chance of interview call after referral.
If you are able to talk someone on the phone, you want to try be their friend and build a relationship. When you're messaging people on LinkedIn you only have a few words to catch their attention. Also, make sure you are actually qualified for the job you want or networking won't help you
@@CareerShakers yeah sure, I will take care of this.
I have a question: If some has not yet started any certification will it be necessary to start a certification in accordance to the person's experience or should the person wait to have job and then start?
You don't need a SHRM certification to get an HR job, but it will help with your career transition story. I got an HR job without the certification. Getting relevant work experience will matter more than ther cert
Remember guys, the reward for hard work…is more work 😂
TRUE! But if you're at a good company, they will hopefully reward you for the hard work
@@CareerShakers the "hopefully" is the hey problem here :D
Another option is contacting an employment attorney
I'm not sure if I'm overanalyzing, but yesterday I had a panel interview with a company. The company explained in the interview that they had a few more candidates to get through this week, but that they will make a decision, when they want the job to start, etc. Today I find out that there is a very similar job that posted yesterday on indeed which is very similar to the job, but it seems to require a little less experience. In addition, I looked at the company website, and the job is posted there. I know that it is the same job as indeed because it had a job id, which is the exact id listed in the company's website posting as well. And judging by other job postings, this is a unique ID for the posting itself. One interesting detail is that on the company website, a job with the same description was posted with a start date yesterday and a unposting date this coming sunday, just 5 days. Then, right when I started this youtube comment, I tried to refer back to the company website to bring up the job listing, and its gone (it early and not working hours yet). I'm not sure what, if any, this means for my job application/interview.
Maybe someone on their team left and it created another opening, or their doing a re-org and a new job is being created
