It has happened to me that when recruiters start talking more specific about the job and responsibilities is a good sign. Also, if they start saying like: when you are working for us this and that will happen... they use “when” instead of “if you get the job...” Also, when they introduce you to people in the office or walk you through the office to meet the environment. Also, when they ask you if you have any other possible job offers landing, and when they start discussing start dates. When they answer your follow up note (email) fast is a good sign. And finally, when they start selling the company to you. Explaining all benefits the company has for you etc etc
I went on an interview once. I thought I did well. The person interviewing me assured me I did. I met the staff, and everything. I followed up with a phone call to inquire about the next step, and the person told me that had hired someone in house. I was devastated, but moved on. It was a learning lesson for me. So I learned to just be patient, and take things with a grain of salt.
I had a couple of this things to happen in an interview i just had a couple of days ago where they was telling me in detail about property management & what I should expect,, so im hoping this was a good sign then that i land this job!
"Expect a call from us within the next three days, *if you don't receive a call* consider your application unsuccessful" This just means you didn't get the job.
I had an interview today which was scheduled to last 30 minutes and it lasted just under 15. I really thought I bombed it because 2 of their questions caught me off guard but I answered it as well as I could but I still got an offer the same day, I was very surprised. However, I think that the conversation I had with one of the interviewers after the interview is what saved me. I was a lot more relaxed and we got along well.
No! You need to follow up. Once thank you email is longer suffice. You need to follow up 3x after the interview. I explain the details with samples follow up letters in my videos.
this could be true for some entry level positions at a super market or in food service, but the average time an employer takes to get back to someone is within one to two weeks.
just writing this for anyone who feels doubt from this comment, because i did when i read it. I just got the job three weeks after interviewing. You can still get the job even if your timeline isn’t the same as others. let positivity into your life.
This is not true at all... Honestly I would be worried if I got a job on the spot, as that can sometimes mean desperation on the part of the potential employer. Most reputable employers wait a day or so to see if you send thank you notes or otherwise follow up with them, and then if they are truly interested in moving forward they check references. The whole process can take weeks!
I have finished my interview this morning. Do not know what to say, , lady was smiling a lot, she seemed really intrigued by my history and experience and she asked a lot of questions. Director was also fine, asked me about my family that I did not even mention. Wish me luck guys!
@@pointa2b388 Unfortunately didnt. Had passed to the second round and then they told me the girl with an experience would be a better fit. Now I am in germany driving a truck :D
My interview took 3 minutes, and I failed to answer 1 question and the interviewer answered it for me,I said thank you and after the whole interview he said thank you. I asked him,did I get the job? He held out his hand to greet me with "welcome on board" I said thank you so much, have a wonderful day!
I just had an interview, it was hard to judge how I did. Sitting 7 feet apart and both of us wearing masks, impeded being able to read facial expression.
I went to an interview yesterday and I was confident also felt I aced it .it lasted for 15 minutes or more they were spot on; didn't waste any time and told me i got the job .I'm waiting on the call to go collect my uniform. 😘
Based on this I hopefully landed my dream job. I should find out in the next couple weeks. It’s been so tough lately but I haven’t given up. Wish me luck, please.
These are a lot of good tips and true signs of a great interview and high potential you are at least being seriously considered for a position. If you don't get it, just means you may have been the runner up which is not bad because that means you can be considered for future positions. Think positive.
Yesterday I had a long-distance interview over Skype (phone, not video). It was scheduled for 45-60 minutes but it went for ~75 minutes. I've been second-guessing all of my answers since then.
Nowadays, these signs are difficult to gauge. I did an interview yesterday that lasted 2 hours! I had to do a written situational "questionnaire" with 4 scenarios with subset questions. I was told it would only take 15 minutes. It took me 30 minutes before I felt comfortable submitting my written responses! I met with the accountant first, then the Administrative Supervisor then the VP of Finance. It was the most arduous unorthodox unconventional interview I've experienced. This was for an Administrative Assistant position! My enthusiasm waned everytime I saw a new person. But I asserted myself during the interview and made a point of duty to sell myself. I won't find out until next week. With regards to hiring, these actions can be either positive or negative. One HR friend of mine says the fact that several management personnel met with me is a good sign. However another HR manager says I shouldn't rush to conclude I'm hired since they didn't hire me on the spot and they may conduct interviews for probity. Which means they already hired someone internally but for formality must advertise the job post externally. She even says she's been in interviews for 2 hours where the conversation flowed organically and everything went smoothly. She was confident she got the job. However, she was sent a letter the next day saying the position was filled by another candidate. So you never know. All the best to everyone during this capricious/ unpredictable year due to covid. I hope we get the job/ careers of our dreams and continue to excel at everything we do. Love from Canada 🇨🇦.
After investing several weeks of my life, the job offer was forthcoming after my 2nd interview, when unbeknownst to me, the job description changed. How do I know this? Well after doing the recommended follow-up phone calls, email, the billing manager had given me her cell #. So I texted her one morning last week, and that's when she told me they filled the position and the job became more focused in another area someone else had more experience with. And then the phony apologies, I thought HR called you and I should've called you. Sorry, we'll keep you on file. I can't begin to tell you how crushed I was.
On my last interview (my current job), I had good vibrations as we discussed salary, possible starting day and got asked if I had planned any holidays.
The problem is that knowing if the interview went well is still not a guarantee that you will get the job. I've had some good interviews and didn't get the job, and I've had some bad ones as well. I do agree with body language or the uninterested demeanors. I find that some of the interviewers can be quite unprofessional and there should be videos on how to conduct an interview.
If an interviewer says: “looking forward to talking to you again in the near future.” At the end of the interview. Is it a good sign that they are interested in you for the job?
I’ve found a hard question I was asked by a hiring manager to be “Do you have any reservations about leaving your current job?” I responded by explaining I enjoy what I do but this new opportunity could be a better fit for the organization and I. Not sure if that was a good or bad question. Any thoughts?
I will update this post, interviewer said I will hear back early next week. I really want this job as it would be a big step for me, please wish me luck, thanks for the wonderful video.
My interviewer was not prepared and didn’t even ask if i had any questions. Lasted for only 15 minutes and felt very rushed. Then again it was at 4:30 and at the end of a friday work day.
I got the job I'm over here thinking I failed lolol but they called me 1 week later saying I got the job ..... I literally didn't talk much nor did say the proper answer to the questions once again btw it was a group interview
When they tell you to "take care" at the end than you won't get the offer and "We'll get back with you next week". If they act all bored and rude than honestly I wouldn't want to work for them anyways. Some employers intentionally keep a straight poker face as to not give anything away, lol.
I had a 45-minute interview, which is the average duration they usually go for. I prepared thoroughly for the technical questions but neglected to focus on the behavioral ones, which turned out to be a significant mistake. As a result, they had to coax the answers out of me, and despite sensing their interest in hiring me, I didn't present myself well in that interview. Didn’t land the job. In a setting that favors extroverts, it can be challenging for introverts to effectively demonstrate their skills and abilities. Without adequate preparation, it becomes difficult for introverts to come up with quick answers on the spot.
I had two interviewers flirt with each other while interviewing me. It was a chase bank so I didn’t want to blacklist myself out of the company, so they were lucky. Otherwise I would have filed a complaint with the company
I was not good verbally in English but All of these factor are in during my final interview for the National Sales manager. I was chosen unanimous by the panel😅
I bombed the interview. I was more than qualified for the job. I just feel that they did not personally like me. They wasted my time. I knew I didnt get the job and I asked for feedback and they just said we want a team player????
I had an interview today I was very nervous for I’ve never felt so nervous before. I hope I did well, I’m such an over analyzer. It’s a horrible feeling.
Of course you don’t have the absolute assurance of getting hired unless you signed the contract. Give the lady a credit. She is just giving probabilities.
I have a question, what if interviewer is helping you answer the question you don't know? At my last interview my interviewer was helping me out a lot. thanksss
Recently, I have given one interview at company after finishing interview I got mail from Hr that "we will give you update next week once director come from holiday" In next week I got updated email from Hr saying that " We are review a few other candidates for the position and hope to present an offer early next week. You are one of our top candidates so we will be in touch soon." Does it indicate good sign?
I had interview today for a job that i really want. It was a 30 minute interview and it stopped just in time. Theres one question that i dont think i answered well. However, i think that majority of the questions i answered good. Lets see whats the outcome... i hate these times, my anxiety is really high🥺🥺🥺
Had an 1.5 hour interview w a big tech company and used up all the time. I noticed that the Operations Manager was 5-7 minutes behind due to tech issues and the second interviewer didn't have a copy of my resume. In the phone interview, the girl interviewing me had a bland personality and only asked 3 questions. Sucks, but I know that there is something better out there.
I have been on interviews that have been extremely confrontational. That is crazy but it happens more often than people think. I also think that I have been on a lot of fake interviews as well. Those also happen more often than people would think.
I actually had an interview that went really well amd all of this did happen, however, I still didn't get the position. They were amazing though and they let me know right away. I really enjoyed talking to them and they made their company seem like a fantastic place to work 😊
Well basically, trust your gut when you leave the interview or do a test or anything related you will feel in your gut! If you make her think about situations and make yourself memorable it’s easier to get hired. To do this dress different over dress is a good thing, talk about something that may relate to the job if you don’t have one! Example- no experience wants to work in McDonald’s- interview question- why do you want to work in a place that provides pressure on you everyday- answer- I like the pressure I use to be in a soccer team I would be screamed at verbally abused put on the spot and I got out of that I came out with the win and I felt a sense of amazement that I did it that feeling of pressure makes me want more and this jobs applies that well trust me I will win
I've had a phone screen call, and 3 interviews for a position... I've felt after each interview that maybe I wasn't doing too well or maybe my answers weren't the best. My interviewers had strong poker faces and I'm unsure how to read their opinions etc. BUT I did keep getting to the next interview somehow, so we'll see if the offer letter is sent. I'll update here if I get the job. Lol
You are right, but it kind happens naturally after an interview... You sit, and you spend a lot of time wondering, while you wait for that email or phone update!
Thank you, Linda! I have been preparing for an important phone interview by studying your videos. Thank you for empowering me with the tools I needed to have this unique conversation.
Thanks Linda, I spent more than one week preparing the interview that I had today, and watching all your videos. Thanks for your advise, I was a dedicated student but you were a great teacher/coach. I remembered you at the beginning, and at the end of my interview. I'll share the good news with you. :)
I just had my final interview over the phone! I am getting really confused if I get the job or not because the HR Manager told me to wait for a call about what to do next!
What happened did you passed the interview? I just finished my interview and that is the same answer I get from the interviewer. Update on what happened to you after that thank you
Thanks for this video. I find it important to practice reality, rationality, sanity, and logic about judging the success of a job interview or now after the fact and while pending the employer hiring decision. One would not wish to be crazily incensed about the interview and then come to find out that they are not extended and invitation to fill the job position.
Love these four signs you called out. Yes, time length is a great sign. However, this is dependent on criteria... one being if it's, say, a large corporation. They don't tend to go over the time limit on an interview. They're too busy and likely have to head directly into another meeting. But, yes, as what you said, the interview will go 75% to 100% of the interview meeting time if they are extremely interested in you. Small companies and nonprofits do tend to go over interview time if they consider you a strong candidate.
I went for an interview with one MNC company in Kuala Lumpur a few days ago. I felt good during and after the interview. It went over 1 hour (1 hour 15 minutes to be exact), and I noticed they listed, well engaged by following up with little questions, also they gave me some new ideas. It felt like a conversation of 3 people getting to know each other. I really hope i got the job. They were very professional and not pushy or stuffy. I bet they hired the best of the best, and I hope i will be one of them soon!
My interviewer is a media named AXIOS, they postponed the scheduled phone interview on last minutes at the first, and the second time, they didn’t show...what’s wrong with them?
I've watched a lot of these interviewing tip videos, and they all seem to contradict one another. I say: research the company, posess the skills that the job is looking for and make it clear to the interviewer that you are the obvious choice for the role. Best of luck.
Exactly! it's because they keep changing the interviewing process and tips, making it very difficult for candidates. Interviews have become another form of mental STRESS created by the job market..... Interviewers or recruiters watch these videos too so they know how to make it difficult for others. ALL I can say is do your best in an interview and hope you are selected for the job.
Just a note on government interviews (Canada - Federal, Alberta, and Manitoba). The interviews are structured and the interviewers won’t have the luxury to make eye contact or go off script as they will be writing things down. Don’t let this bother you.
I got interviewed two weeks ago and there were two bosses . They gave me the appointment for the interview one day after my application. Both have showed me the office and told me where there office in the building is, joked that it’s an expensive place but worth the rent and told me I am the first candidate but there are still other applications.. One of the boss told me :,, You will hear back from us within a week.“ the other boss told :,, two weeks would be better .“ What does it means ?
I’ve had someone gave me the aligns that they liked me and I didn’t get the job and the opposite as well where I didn’t think they liked me much and got the job 🧐

Sometimes when the interviewer says is there anything else you might want to add to improve your qualifications or if they give you a very light hand shake then those are some signs.

And finally, when they start selling the company to you. Explaining all benefits the company has for you etc etc
A couple of these signs happened in an interview I had a few weeks ago...didn’t get the job :L
This actually happend to me. But they didn't email me back. 😥😥
I had interviews where they introduced me to ppl and the workplace and I still didn’t get the job
"Expect a call from us within the next three days, *if you don't receive a call* consider your application unsuccessful"
This just means you didn't get the job.
Oh no
Damn it
Lmfao
This lady is sent from heaven. Everything she teaches is golden. Thank you so much ☺
I had an interview today which was scheduled to last 30 minutes and it lasted just under 15. I really thought I bombed it because 2 of their questions caught me off guard but I answered it as well as I could but I still got an offer the same day, I was very surprised. However, I think that the conversation I had with one of the interviewers after the interview is what saved me. I was a lot more relaxed and we got along well.
Video starts at 1:30
If you aren’t hired on the spot or get a response within a day or two, you most likely didn’t get the job. It’s the truth
Do not know what to say,
, lady was smiling a lot, she seemed really intrigued by my history and experience and she asked a lot of questions. Director was also fine, asked me about my family that I did not even mention. Wish me luck guys!
Did you get the job?
They are not suppose to ask about family, if you are in the USA, it's illegal.
@@pointa2b388
Unfortunately didnt. Had passed to the second round and then they told me the girl with an experience would be a better fit. Now I am in germany driving a truck :D
@@bettysmith4527 I do not find it problematic at all
I've come to discover that when the interviewer is INSECURE about whether or not you'll be in line for their job one day, they NEVER call.
Dude for real.
Yesssss
I had a short panel interview like 15 minutes or less and I was offered the job a few weeks later! I left the interview feeling confident too!
👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽
Few weeks later? I’m currently working at Google and wouldn’t even give them a few weeks to let me know of their decision. Know your worth.
WirelessKing Yes, federal government jobs take forever.....
I went to an interview yesterday and I was confident also felt I aced it .it lasted for 15 minutes or more they were spot on; didn't waste any time and told me i got the job .I'm waiting on the call to go collect my uniform. 😘
Did you asked them anything when they said they will let you know?? Coz I had an interview they told me that they will let me know in a week.
My interviewer was hella late and I was hella early🤦🏿♂️
Me too
ali diop smh my head
That’s rude that they’re late.
Based on this I hopefully landed my dream job. I should find out in the next couple weeks. It’s been so tough lately but I haven’t given up. Wish me luck, please.
It's so hard to know their facial expressions when we were wearing facemask😷
Interviews is like a card game but you have show your hand but they keep theirs close to their chest!
That's Classic Her Great sign! Hope you get it.
@@hot4fi Thank you! I've got a face-to-face interview tomorrow AM.
@@thatsclassicher1149 sooo did you get it??
@@bettysmith4527 I did!
I don’t care if the interview went well or the employer says that it did. I care if I finally land a job and get through all this bs
It seems like a natural conversation
Very few interviews are truly open. Most employers already have a good idea who they want to hire.
Thank you! Same to you. Hope you got the job of your dreams. ❤️
That was free labor.
Same way I felt and they said they will keep me in file but I'm never going back.
Of course
no. i got rejected with same line. Its just standard line
I’ve found a hard question I was asked by a hiring manager to be “Do you have any reservations about leaving your current job?” I responded by explaining I enjoy what I do but this new opportunity could be a better fit for the organization and I. Not sure if that was a good or bad question. Any thoughts?
just had an interview - i was happy with it except that i knew i spoke way too fast because i was nervous : (
I checked off every one of her points in my interview today. Hopefully, I smashed it. 🤞
Nitin Suresh update?
@@acquahman23 didn't get it
I will update this post, interviewer said I will hear back early next week.
Let me guess you're good looking..
My interview seemed to go well today !! I even got a call about the next steps
Listened to your advice and got the job offer the same day! Legend, thank you 🙏
When they tell you to "take care" at the end than you won't get the offer and "We'll get back with you next week".
Lol just got a job offer from someone who showed none of these signs lol.
Thank you for saying this.
If they ask when would you be able to start is a good sign. They wouldn't ask if they weren't interested
yeahh, i got this hehe,, the end was awkard but i wa son fire the rest of the interview,,, but that ending ughhhhh
Of course you don’t have the absolute assurance of getting hired unless you signed the contract.
Give the lady a credit. She is just giving probabilities.
I have a question, what if interviewer is helping you answer the question you don't know? At my last interview my interviewer was helping me out a lot. thanksss
Recently, I have given one interview at company after finishing interview I got mail from Hr that "we will give you update next week once director come from holiday"
In next week I got updated email from Hr saying that " We are review a few other candidates for the position and hope to present an offer early next week. You are one of our top candidates so we will be in touch soon."
Does it indicate good sign?
I tell them stories. And everyone loves listening to some good stories.
This is actually super helpful since I've got my first ever interview in less than 2 weeks
good luck! :)
All the best Maria! Do well
I had interview today for a job that i really want. It was a 30 minute interview and it stopped just in time. Theres one question that i dont think i answered well. However, i think that majority of the questions i answered good. Lets see whats the outcome... i hate these times, my anxiety is really high🥺🥺🥺
Great point to observe whether or not they're prepared. Thanks for your tips, Linda! Cheers!
Just had an interview today and this video has really put my mind to ease lol (for the time being lol)
I actually had an interview that went really well amd all of this did happen, however, I still didn't get the position.
They were amazing though and they let me know right away. I really enjoyed talking to them and they made their company seem like a fantastic place to work 😊
I am having my final interview any minute now. Good luck to me 💕
What happened?
Lol
I got the job
@@skylergardner2792Congrats!
All I got from this video is: "if the sun shines then it's sunny"
The best sign if the interview went well is if you got an offer, wondering if you got the job is such a waste of time...
I think I BOMBED my interview, but the interviewer was just a nice person lol
I really needed this! Had an interview yesterday but didn't really know how to feel about it - thanks Linda!
All the best everyone ❤️😍🌹
I went for an interview with one MNC company in Kuala Lumpur a few days ago. I felt good during and after the interview. It went over 1 hour (1 hour 15 minutes to be exact), and I noticed they listed, well engaged by following up with little questions, also they gave me some new ideas. It felt like a conversation of 3 people getting to know each other. I really hope i got the job. They were very professional and not pushy or stuffy. I bet they hired the best of the best, and I hope i will be one of them soon!
Had u gotten the job offer now? I am also interviewing with fews of IC in Kuala Lumpur recently and I am a bit nervous
My interviewer is a media named AXIOS, they postponed the scheduled phone interview on last minutes at the first, and the second time, they didn’t show...what’s wrong with them?
Try reading their expressions with a facemask. Very hard. But it's great for nerves, you can hide and recover quickly.
My person said “I will call you back later this week if I’m interested” and that she has to interview others also. What does that mean
Need this, I'm going nuts thinking how my interview did came. If Im successful or........
I've watched a lot of these interviewing tip videos, and they all seem to contradict one another. I say: research the company, posess the skills that the job is looking for and make it clear to the interviewer that you are the obvious choice for the role. Best of luck.
You're welcome. Good luck☺
Exactly! it's because they keep changing the interviewing process and tips, making it very difficult for candidates. Interviews have become another form of mental STRESS created by the job market..... Interviewers or recruiters watch these videos too so they know how to make it difficult for others. ALL I can say is do your best in an interview and hope you are selected for the job.
I did an interview for an awesome role and I pray I really get, It was so casual . The interview beyond the time frame scheduled
Just a note on government interviews (Canada - Federal, Alberta, and Manitoba). The interviews are structured and the interviewers won’t have the luxury to make eye contact or go off script as they will be writing things down. Don’t let this bother you.
Great, thanks for the video. I am after my job interview and waiting for the response 🙄
Nice tips! Don't mind those saying you are wrong, cos sure you can read something from the interviewer facial expressions.
I’ve been listening to your advice for about a month now. Thank you ☺️
I got interviewed two weeks ago and there were two bosses .
What did it mean?
Did you get the job?
Can you please make video about how to prepare for second round interview?
I’ve had someone gave me the aligns that they liked me and I didn’t get the job and the opposite as well where I didn’t think they liked me much and got the job 🧐
Thank you for this very comprehensive video
I am an Indian. I am 49. I am a Finance & Controlling Professional in a Manufacturing Company in India. I am very impressed with the Video - extremely good content and brilliant presentation.
Is it good to accept lower offer ? Or else we can negotiate offer through email as second time ?
Sometimes when the interviewer says is there anything else you might want to add to improve your qualifications or if they give you a very light hand shake then those are some signs.
After watching your video. I feel like a relief now thanks
