This seems more difficult to tell during government job interviews. They are very rigid and structured so that they are fair to everyone. Hard to get feedback. Had one today! Not sure it went very well.
Certainly. Government jobs are typically more structured and rigid. From my experience with federal jobs, they try to standardize it as much as possible which makes it much harder to tell. Did you feel like you were able to build rapport or connect with the interviewers?
Great video! I am thinking my second interview yesterday went quite well now. I watched some of your other videos earlier this week while preparing. Thank you for helping those of us looking for new opportunities! I was a little rusty so it has been very appreciated
Thanks for the tips. The hiring manager (Director) shared their email for me to follow up. I then made it to the next step, where I met with the (AVP, marketing). The AVP also shared their email for any follow up questions. Both interviews were very fluid and felt more like conversation. I am still interviewing other places but wondering how good of a sign it is.
I just had a PA school interview yesterday, and I feel like it went well. However, I’m also feeling unsure because the questions were not traditional ones, and so I had to wing it in some ways and tried to pull answers from questions I did expect into the appropriate place. I did experience all of these things, so that makes me feel better about my chances. Additionally, the school views applicants very holistically and is a sister college of my undergraduate university. Yesterday’s interview was with my top choice program, so I’m very eager to hear back! Edit: I GOT IN!
YAY!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Di you remember any of the questions they asked? If so, would you mind sharing here to help others see what the non-traditional questions look like?
@@LifeWorkBalance Thank you! I don’t remember the questions specifically, but I do remember that a lot of them were tailored towards my application or who I was as a person. A lot of PA school try to figure out who you are as a student, which I believe is redundant because the application shows that. It seemed like they wanted to get to know me on a personal level rather than an academic level. I do remember one of the questions being “if you had two weeks of a break in school, what would you spend your time doing?” It gave me the opportunity to discuss how I am passionate about mission trips and would love to go on a medical mission trip, which is something the school offers.
@@ew5601 Amazing!! Thank you for sharing. I think the question you shared is a good example of a non-traditional question that gets at the heart of WHO you are, which is important when applying to this type of role or school program!
Mam i need to know about 'how to market myself as job seeker' with no experience but required skills and internship so what's some top books on marketing ourself in such a situation as I've heard that presenting oneself with confidence matters a lot in terms of convincing clients or recruiters..
my interview lasted a bit longer than usual bc I asked quite a few questions at the end so I won't use that as a telltale sign but it does give me some hope. also I would say my interviewers answers to my questions were pretty long so that's a good sign. it's just very nerve wracking because they are only hiring one person out of multiple candidates and I'm not sure if I showed my best self, I feel there were a couple questions that I could have answered better or with more detail /:
I am not sure what to make of how a second round went. I went through a second interview that I think it went well. They even provided me information that the company will be conducting a third round interview as well as the exact location where the third interview will be conducted. The hiring manager even complimented my enthusiasm for the position. However, he did not provide me an exact date of when the third round will be (only a range) and he mentioned they are interviewing a few more applicants. Considering the fast turn around time from Phone Interview to Zoom Interview, I am not sure to expect a decision for the third round to take this long. At this time, I am still awaiting to hear if I will be moving forward or not. Thoughts?
Did you hear back? It's possible someone other than the hiring manager (like a recruiter) did the phone interview and the hiring manager (who may have a busier schedule) did the Zoom interview and is taking a bit longer to get through candidates and schedule the next round of interviews. If you haven't sent a follow-up thank you email, I highly recommend you do so.
