Interviews should be changed to "get-to-know you" meets. People will be totally chill if you could talk in person in some cafe or a restaurant. Introverts should be given a chance too 😭
Yes! I’m an introvert and can work my butt off. But the interview, I freeze. I’m aware of the job(s) but in the moment, I draw blanks. But ones who gave me a chance did not ever regret it.
@@hunneedrops Embrace the nervousness. I'm an introvert as well but have learned to lean into the nerves/intense feelings instead of shying from it. It isn't easy but reframing the situation has helped so much and I feel like a million bucks after I get through it no matter how it went.
I'm in HR and do recruiting, and I myself am nervous during interviews and it's hilarious! That's why when I'm interviewing others, I just wish I could tell them hey, it's fine, you're doing great! And when I'm interviewing, I wish I could just listen to my own words of advice!
I can't tell you how many interviews I've been on where the Interviewing Manager was rambling and unprepared. They are not often trained in how to interview to elicit the right info on best candidates. They are focused on themselves, not listening deeply enough.
I tried these tips and many other interview questions that you taught i was offered a job the same day thank you so much you are life saver I have been unemployed for a long time and after 8 unsuccessful interviews my 9th interview was successful and landed me my first job thanks to you.. God bless you ❤️❤️
I think over time, as you get more experience and have done quite a few interviews, you'll just naturally start to feel more relaxed. Another thing I like to think about before an interview that calms me down a bit is that it's not the end of the world if you don't get the job. You'll still be ok, there'll be another place.
I would say immediately in the interview start with an ice breaker. Don’t respond to the “how are you today” with “good thanks, and you”. Start an exchange immediately share a short (positive) comment or ask them something immediately eg thanks for taking the time to meet with me today or I hope you’re having a great day/week so far. Makes a huge difference and helps pace the interview getting the nerves out!
1. make yourself comfortable in the space before the interview (be present) 2. Prepare your stories and responses in advances (have a stockpile of potential stories) 3. Practice your answers on camera/in the mirror beforehand 4. Focus on them, not you (shift your focus onto them and make sure your answers are landing/appreciating what your saying) 5. Dress the part
@@happygoluckyscamp I was nervous right upto entering the boardroom. After the greeting it was a breeze. The preparation and practising did help. Been there almost 5 months now and loving it.
One thing that I advise my clients is focusing on gratitude. That psychologically hacks your brain so that you think about the positives and the negative noise falls to the backdrop.
I just had an interview and just when I thought it was over they did 2 role play scenarios which caught me off guard and I stumbled and bombed. It was an internal position to move up in my current team. I left feeling upset, mad at myself and embarrassed. That was two weeks ago and I’m still recovering. Whoa!
There's people out there who actually like interviews! Crazy! I get so nervous, I practice a lot, breathe, and try and focus on the positives. But I hate not knowing the person before hand, and I hate not knowing what they will say. For the most part, they will ask common questions that I have practiced, but some catch me off guard and I hate thinking of things on the spot! I have an interview tomorrow, so I will definitely try these!
That is understandable. I study interview questions to and 90% of them are used. I also try to remember what stories I will use before my interview. Also, just a few minutes ago I researched the people who I will be interviewed by since it is a Zoom interview and some went to the same college as me and only been on the job for a year or 2. Crazy. I'm still nervous but trying to breathe
I've done a terrible job trying to convey my interest and skills in an interview bc of how nervous I get. So now I'm channeling my inner frustration and anger to improving. Thank you Linda!!!!!
Okay I struggle with interviews!! To the point where my nervousness takes over and makes me forget the answers and I stutter. Sometimes my eyes or mouth will twitch it’s embarrassing!
I was looking through your videos before my interview for a Telemarketing position here in San Diego California, and I got the job! Thank you for sharing. I was laid off from the restaurant industry back in March 2020 when Covid started and its my first time working in the office industry with no experience. To anyone that's looking forward to their interview, get there early be sharp, enthusiastic, and have faith, believe in yourself! I hope all of you have an amazing 2021, you deserve it!
It's been a long time since I've had an interview but I was definitely somebody to get nervous. However, I learnt how to disguise this with confident body language. It must have worked because it got me the jobs. Great video Linda!
Hi Linda, not sure if you read comments but I wanted to let you know that your tips helped me a lot in feeling less nervous in a recent interview. I was offered the position so thank you for doing what you do! :)
Great tips! I've been binge watching your vids and applied them to my online interview that I had on Monday. Still waiting for a decision from them, however I appreciate the tips because it changed the way I think about interviews and they're not so nerve wrecking anymore. I'm better prepared for them. Thx Linda🌌😊
I am here because I almost did not get the job during my final interview because I was so nervous I stutter and ramble for words. 😢 I'm just lucky that the manager gave me another chance to do over the interview tomorrow. It's really hard when you're an ovethinker and an introvert at the same time. I also have stage fright. I do well on my job but really frightened with interviews and presentations.
Just watching this reassured me, thank you, I have an interview this afternoon, have been on the other side so many times, still getting nervous now, think it is because I really really want this particular job.
i think the most useful tips for me is : Prepare your stories and responses in advances (have a stockpile of potential stories) because this is the first thing we have to prepare before the interview, the answer from the question that might be need some research like "what do you know about us as a company?" if you unprepared for this kind of question then you'll get nervous, this is the reason why you get nervous because you unprepared. so making sure that you fully know what examples, stories, achievement and responses you going to have to the most common question that come up in interview...
Thank you, your tips and descriptions are very clear. I think the most important tips is to make yourself comfortable in thr space before the interview. Before the interview, we need to relax ourselves, make ourselves comfortable, not worry, and get rid of thoughts that can interfere with the course of the interview. When we’re stressed or anxious we tend to take quick and shallow breathes. When we have prepared everything such as interview material, but if we are uncomfortable and our minds are not calm, all will be disturbed. Material preparation is important, but what is more important is mental preparation because it lies within us.
I have a job interview today, i was thinking I'm shy but actually I'm nervous, after this video I'm feeling more comfortable. I now the secret is practice. Thanks Linda
Ive taken in these interview tips and my problem is, majority of these answers are for retail. I work for Dpt of Homeland Security and the answers they want are nowhere near the answers they give here lol when they want different scenarios, the last thing they want is my retail experience.. they dont relate and have no interest listening about employees not wanting to stock 😂😂
Have an idea of points you want talk for very question about in the interview...prepare answers well...don’t bye heart. Don’t practice too much...that creates nervousness..take interview casually and easy..don’t take it too seriously .i take interviews casually like conversations between people..that makes things easy.. develop motivation that you want the job and I want to do it..that reduces nervousness and creates drive in you to do well.
hi! thanks for the useful tips! the most useful tip for me is the third tip. if we practice in front of the camera before the interview, we can prepare ourselves first. because the more often we practice, then we will be able to do it easily, without being nervous. we can train ourselves how to be in a good position during the interview, how to make eye contact with the interviewer. with practice, we'll get through something well.
Hey! Linda that was so helpful am currently preparing for online interview, and I was about to do that without preparing I just realised I know nothing about them thank you for saving the day.
Let me just say, I owe you my life. I've lost track and somehow we can say I almost ruined my life. I've been wanting to change but I fail all the job interviews I had even tho I can say I'm qualified for the position. But after watching your videos, I got a job I wanted even tho I have ZERO experience to that job and I'm now earning more than what I expected. I also recommended your videos to my partner and one friend, they both also got the job they applied for. Thank you so much!!!!!
I got the job!!! Thank you for this. I watched a few of your vids and made tons of notes and it worked! I applied for this job like 5 times lol maybe more. 👍👍
Wow! Great content, I think the most important tip is number two and number three. The reason is that when we interview we have to have the material to answer that question and to avoid getting nervous we have to train to get used to it and not forget our own material.
this is so funny, i’m watching this video now and did my preliminary interview for an internship earlier and used all of these techniques!! definitely recommend, I feel I did well and i’m excited :)
One time I was so desperate to relax I watched King Julian’s videos lol. It helped a bit 😅 but I was still shaking. Smh. It’s even worse for introverts. Part of the nerves is lying I hate lying. Sigh.
I think I have arrived at a point where I am comfortable preparing well, and then not getting overly nervous in an interview. I'd still be nervous but it's tolerable first off, and second it actually makes my responses a little better. It's that moderate state of stage nervousness but simultaneously feeling totally in control. Hence, it's good. I think for the first one I was definitely less confident, feeling extremely scared that I may deal some damage to myself. Luckily the interviewer was nice, and it didn't just serve as a job interview, it served as training. You get more confident after you've trained.
I'm having my first ever interview today and I have been nervous for the past two days. I have terrible social anxiety and it always affects my communication skills. I am trying my hardest to stay confident but I keep going back to my nervousness
Thanks for the tips. I think, by practicing answering interviews in front of the mirror, it will make me more fluent in answering during interviews by skype or zoom. and practicing my posture, body language and eye contact in front of the mirror will make me more confident during the interview.
I am interviewing a lot lately and I feel that a certain level of nervousness (not too much) actually helps to show that he/she really wants the job and is committed. If somebody is too confident I get quickly the impression that they don't really value the opportunity and may turn out to be arrogant if selected.
Hi Linda, I want you to know that I followed your tips for a job interview I had. I would NOT have done so well had I not followed your advice. And...I got the job. Thank you so much for your help.
Thank you, I went from an anxious mess to calmish and kept myself together and got hired on the spot!! It was an interview for Ross, I actually declined it and doing another interview today somewhere else.
I totally agree with you at 11:35. When I am in a job interview and if I know I am going to a social setting, I won't wear clothing I am embarrassed to wear, because I will act nervous as hell.
Hi, thankyou for the tips. But i think the most useful tips for me is practice the answers in front of the camera or mirror, because practicing your answers will help you feel more comfortable, and you can practice your posture, body language and eye contact, after rewatch yourself what you look and sound like when you’re nervous so you can improve them. And also you will already have an idea of the main points to cover during your real interview and will ensure you are prepared to answer questions the interviewer asks with more confident.
Another great tip. Thank you Linda - you’ve inspired me to create a RUclips channel for Australia. Being a Career Strategist for over 7 years. I didn’t see RUclips as a platform.
Wow, your video is very educational. I like the second tip, because I think this is the most useful for me. "Prepare your stories and responses in advance", because if we prepare stories and responses before the job interviews, then we will be ready and responsive when interviewed by the hiring manager. I think preparing stories and responses is by recognizing our own strengths and weaknesses, digging deeper about the company, and what makes us interested in applying for jobs at the company and also why the company should employ us, so we can control ourselves so as not to get nervous🤩
I’ll be having my first internship interview tomorrow and I’m crying and panicking all day today. I really reallyyy want to land this job gosh. Thank you for this. Wish me luck!
Hi. Thank you very much for this video, what you said resonated with me. You helped me alot. I finally managed to get a job after a long pause. Have a nice day.
Hello Linda, so for this particular video the one problem I have is regarding the Questions they want to ask at the interview. Basically, its about my ability to improvise in case there will be a question that I didn't expect to receive. I have participated this time in a PhD two weeks ago where they asked me some personalised questions that were not standard and I couldn't prepare an answer for them because I didn't expect them to come. How would I be able to answer these type of questions?
Hi Kanesha... How did your video interview go? I'm going to have mine first ever video interview on Monday...I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Any tips?
I had an interview today where 4 managers interviewed me. The more people interviewed me the more nervous I get and I feel like I failed horribly. I have another interview at a company Tuesday, hopefully it goes better after watching this video.
Thanks for the Tips!!! The third tip is really help me, "Practice your answer on Camera beforehand". Practice, practice, and practice on mirror or camera. I always nervous when someone give me question, my head goes blank. So, with practice, i can increase my confident and courage. And i can find out what should i improve.
Not only did I fully research the company I also was prepared to discuss how my skill set meets the needs of that company and how I can potentially bring the company to the next level. I brought notes. That is totally acceptable. I also developed engaging questions regarding the company and then questioning about my potential role.
I did a interview at M&S Oadby and passed it within the Prince Trust and felt nervous an heisted while calming down while answering the questions because I’ve improvise. After that I got into M&S Oadby 4 weeks experience but then didn’t get a job.
the interview is a part of success to your career .most important is you are well connected ,you need to have a lot of social connections in the related field .
thank you for the tips and explanation in detail and summarized in words that are easy to understand. The first tip you gave really helped me because the thing I hate the most is being nervous when talking to new people so that I can't give the best that is. there in me, with the tips you provide can make me calmer when doing job interviews

Hey not sure if you've gotten this answered but here's a couple of questions I plan on asking during my interview: 'What does your ____ team look like?' (who is in the team), 'What does a typical day look like?' 'What is your leadership style like?' (you want to get a gauge if your future boss will be guiding you and mentoring you so that you can grow and excel) Hope these are helpful :)

I am interviewing a lot lately and I feel that a certain level of nervousness (not too much) actually helps to show that he/she really wants the job and is committed. If somebody is too confident I get quickly the impression that they don't really value the opportunity and may turn out to be arrogant if selected.
I have an interview this Thursday. 😄 I want this job so badly and really appreciate these tips. Wish me luck! 🤗
Me too! Good luck!
How did it go?
Great tips here and one that is extremely useful during the current environment, thanks for sharing
Agree with Dino. Good timing.
Love your videos! I have my fifth interview with a company in 90 mins, I’ll keep everyone updated!! 🙏🏼
How'd it go?
Right. How did it go?
Hi Linda, I want you to know that I followed your tips for a job interview I had. I would NOT have done so well had I not followed your advice. And...I got the job. Thank you so much for your help.
I am on the job hunt. Thankyou my Angel Investor!!! Linda Raynier
Hi Linda, thanks for sharing the useful tips and tools to success in an interview session.
Thank you so much for this tips ! I need it so much and now i am at ease
This has been extremely helpful! Thank you Linda with Love from South Africa
Got an interview tomorrow... wish me luck !
Great advice, need to be critical towards yourself.
If you are practicing with someone be sure to be critical to them too.
I have an interview coming up. Thank you for this video 😁
Another great tip. Thank you Linda - you’ve inspired me to create a RUclips channel for Australia. Being a Career Strategist for over 7 years. I didn’t see RUclips as a platform.
I am going to have an interview next week! Your tips really help!
Amazing advice. This is some of the best professional growth content out there. Love these videos!
Thank you, I have a job interview in two days. It will definitely be a blessing from God if I get it and also from watching this video.
I have an interview in a week. Thank you for the tips ❤️
I have an interview tomorrow & I always love watching your videos and hearing your tips! Thank you!
good luck!! i have one today 😭
I’ll be having my first internship interview tomorrow and I’m crying and panicking all day today. I really reallyyy want to land this job gosh. Thank you for this. Wish me luck!
I really love this video. It is very helpful. I watched this a few days ago and now i have a job. Thanks for this video.
Hi. Thank you very much for this video, what you said resonated with me. You helped me alot. I finally managed to get a job after a long pause. Have a nice day.
Less than 2 hrs and been binging these for days now. Haha!! Wish me luck
Good luck 😸
How did it go!
I have an interview in a few hours and I needed this information, thank you!
Thanks Linda for the tips, I have a video interview on Friday, wish me luck.
especially the tip Practice your answers in front of the camera
Goodluck!
Hi Kanesha... How did your video interview go? I'm going to have mine first ever video interview on Monday...I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
Any tips?
I love your video, very helpful, thanks a lot!!
Glad it was helpful!
I had an interview today where 4 managers interviewed me. The more people interviewed me the more nervous I get and I feel like I failed horribly. I have another interview at a company Tuesday, hopefully it goes better after watching this video.
How'd it go?

I'm going to get interviews soon; only 2 hours more. I'm nervous, but I'm going to try my best. I'll update you more about my results. Wish me luck.🙏🏻
You are very perceptive - this is valuable knowledge for anyone, job seeker or not.
Thank you very much! I advanced on my interviews. Your channel is so helpful

THANKS LINDA RAYNIER FOR VERY HELPFUL VIDEOS
These were some great tips. Thank you so much, I will be looking at your website.
you formatting for these videos are great for me thanks
Thank you so much! How can someone bomb an interview when Mrs. Raynier and RUclips has their back?
They can’t!
Not only did I fully research the company I also was prepared to discuss how my skill set meets the needs of that company and how I can potentially bring the company to the next level. I brought notes. That is totally acceptable. I also developed engaging questions regarding the company and then questioning about my potential role.
Tomorrow is gonna be a big day.. Hope my interview goes well. Online interview is way different from my past experience .
Tomorrow is my big day too! Phone interview for me. Good luck 🙂
Yes, exactly
Thank you very much for these tips that some of them I didn't know! I put myself very nervous because I am very strict with myself! From this moment I will focus on them! Thank you a lot!
Hi Miss Linda thank you so much I'm new to your channel and you are doing a very great job I thought I was the only one scared and nervous on interviews but I see there's a lot of people's I didn't know how your managers or the people that interview as well be scared but you are really telling the truth when we go to interviews I be really really nervous sometimes don't know what to say thank you so much and I will be watching your channel is 2023 Happy New Year's
Hey Linda, I really will appreciate if you can answer me this question: What do I must say when they say "Do you have any question for us?
Hey not sure if you've gotten this answered but here's a couple of questions I plan on asking during my interview: 'What does your ____ team look like?' (who is in the team), 'What does a typical day look like?' 'What is your leadership style like?' (you want to get a gauge if your future boss will be guiding you and mentoring you so that you can grow and excel) Hope these are helpful :)
This is the best video about interviewing I've ever seen. Thanks. Have an interview tomorrow
