Hello Erin, thankful for all the good tips and advice you put out. I have a specific question tho: what advice could you give, when companies even the ones with international connections use the excuse of "we are only a ministry" to offer really low compensations?
"They are not looking for reasons to reject you, they are looking for reasons to hire you." - wow I need to hear that. 😂 thank you so much for the help!
Coming back after three rounds of interviews to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I just landed my first “big girl” job out of college! You helped me feel so confident and prepared going into each round! Y’all LISTEN TO HER she knows her stuff and she really does mean it when she says you’ve got this ❤

Crossing my fingers that these tips end up helping. edit two months after the interview: I got my dream job! Finally heading across the world
I watched this video before I interviewed in a round 1 and round 2 for a new job in late December and then a round 3 in early January. AND I WAS HIRED!!! Not only that, I got a 58% raise, got to move to a new city for work and got my own place for the first time ever!! Your videos helped me feel prepared and raised my confidence. Thank you so much Erin!!!! 😊
I just nailed an interview and got a job offer thanks to Erin. I followed all of her advice and did everything she suggests in this clip. During orientation my supervisor who was showing me the job was also one of the interviewers so I asked him why I was hired. I told him I was part of an online support group and would share his answer if he did not mind. He said it was fine. They interviewed around 12 people and hired 1. He said and I quote him here. “You interviewed well.” I was not expecting that. I thought it would be my experience (28 years) Or my professionalism. Nope. It was my interview skills. Thank you Erin.
@@nala6846Congrats on your interview. They want to hire somebody and they picked you to give an interview to. Its your job to show them they were right to interview you. Good luck you got this
I recently interviewed for my first job in my field coming out of grad school (debt-free!), and to prepare, I watched every video of Erin's I could find on resume-writing, job applications, interviewing, and salary negotiation. Long story short, I landed the job!!! Not only that, but using Erin's advice, I was able to negotiate them up by $5k/year during the interview process, even though I was already at the top end of their budget. These videos were a huge help in learning how to navigate the process, and they relieved so much of my anxiety. She really knows her stuff. Thank you, Erin!!!
Having good questions is vital - you should always have at least 6 questions ready that are well thought up and not cookie-cutter. My formula is: - 2 questions that pick out specific requirements from the job description (shows you've throughly read the JD and are probably more familiar with it that the hiring manager) - 2 more general questions about the role & team - 2 more general questions about the company and culture
Great video! For blind spots : if you don't have anyone available to do these mock interviews with, you can always try to film yourself while you ask/answer the questions or you can do like sims and practice in the mirror
Perfect timing. I have an interview on Monday. My first interview in over 10yrs. I am so nervous. But I feel this video gave me so much confidence. Now I got sm hwk
@lovewhitey4462 I've been fully employed, and still am, at the moment, however I have settled with the same job for over 10yrs. So I've recently decided it's time to move on.
I know every interview advice video on youtube has comments like this. But guys. This is the video that did it for me. I get really, really anxious in social situations, so of course interviews are just awful for me. I can write and practice what I’d say to common questions to friends all day long but when I’m with the real deal interviewers I crumble. But the pep talk in this video is what did it for me. Because she’s just RIGHT! They are looking for reasons to HIRE you, not reject you. They don’t want to interview any more people. That logic check just clicked with me so well. I was still a little nervous, but still confident enough to get the job I wanted. My first week here has been genuinely great. Good luck everyone, I believe in you :)
Interview today! The timing on this is amazing! I am so excited and feel really prepared! Something else that I think helped me get here was asking my manager to send a note of recommendation to the recruiter after my initial interview. Sending good vibes to everyone else I hope you all land where you want to with your interview!
I had my first interview today and it was amazing! The interviewer liked me, and I liked the interviewer and the company. I have a paid trial edit (I am a video editor) and they are already drafting up the contract. It is just wowing them with the edit, then I'm guaranteed to have a job at 19!!! Thank you for this video, it gave me less anxiety about everything.
I've been enjoying your shorts for a while and this is the first long form video that I watched. So many people who make content in this category sound like they are reading a script or basically giving a PPT presentation. It can get annoying and feel disingenuous. This felt like chatting with a friend who knows their stuff, or someone who works at the company that is giving you the inside scoop, and that takes a lot of talent to pull off. Great job!
Tysm for saying the interview goes both ways. Ive always said that an interview is as much you interviewing the company to be an employer as the other way around!❤

I'm pretty nervous but also proud because i have my first (ever!!!!) interview on Thursday! I know you might not see this comment, but your super helpful and your advice has really helped me! Thank you very much!
Hi Erin! Thank you so much for all the advice. I struggled to communicate due to autism and didn't learn proper etiquette as well as regular folks. But now I've gone to interviews for several companies and used the advice, now all 3 gave me offers! 2 of them were nice and casual, one was tough and grilling, so it was certainly a surprise the 3rd one offered in the end! I'm still a bit nervous for the final negotiations but I'm close now!
Thank you Erin! You're videos encouraged me to create a cover letter and to be more confident in skills I already had during my interview! I interviewed for a part-time position at 10am and today at 4pm, I received a job for a full time position with similar role requirements. 3 phone calls were made back to me; as they were honestly looking for a better position to fit me because of my current Pregnancy! God is really good! Put your faith in Him and do your part like following Erin's videos and things will turn around! ❤

I consider that the most important step is to research the info about the company which you will have interview. The employer will be surprise and happy that you allocate time to know better the company which you apply for job.
Awesome content ma'am, could you please create a comprehensive video on ai interview prep tools? Like Interview Sidekick, pramp, or any other tools....
I actually have a job interview at the Culvers that is in the city/town that I live in and it is in about 37 minutes or so ( my job interview is from 3:00-3:30 pm where I live ) so thankfully I remember watching this video before today so I had went and rewatched it again… so hopefully my job interview at Culvers will go well because my only other job that I currently have is during the summertime at EAA during the preshow and during the actual air show convention which is during the last 2 weeks of the month of July every year
Hi Erin, I've been following you for a while now and I really love your videos! Right now I have applied for a position in my current department. It is a higher position where I can develop further. Do you have any tips for internal job applications?
I have an interview on Friday. I’m nervous because it’s my first interview in about 10 years. I’ve worked 12 years at my current job, so I am afraid all my answers will sound the same. Or maybe I’ll just go blank. 😬 I plan to go through all of your shorts over the next day or 2, research the company, and talk through some potential questions with a couple people over the next few days. I really want this to work out 🤞
Im really good at working and im so responsible, but i feel like im sucks at interview, and they keep asking me repetitive question why dont you apply for a job beforee (office or corporate job), but i alreadyyy told them what i did, my skill and my achievement.
Hello Erin! First of all - thank you for the great video, it was really useful! Could you please share your advice - how would you react to a situation where the recruiter, during the interview says that they feel like your competences are too high for the role you apply for? I felt like I was a good match for one position, got invited for the interview, was very well prepared, but now - after receiving this type of feedback during the conversation, I am really afraid that it won't end positively for me... Any advice on how to respond to similar feedback/react in the future? Once again - thank you for your videos, they are super useful and full of really great tips!
That’s a slippery slope they are hesitant you will be bored and leave.. I went through this 3 times and I left shortly after taking the jobs the coworkers were envious I had college degree.( and thought I wanted the supervisor job or theres) Its very hard to fit in with people who know they have no other job options and they resent you.. I was also a maid I just needed a job… Don’t be discouraged just apply where you can GROW not slowly die on the vine 💥
I recently got the news that my so called probationary employment will not be continued (for reasons I dont agree with, but that's beside the topic). Your videos are helping a lot. But it is hard not seeming too desperate when I really am...
I once went to an interview and the person immediately told me that they wouldn't hire me because of my lack of work experience, then she spent the rest of the interview shitting on my generations work ethic :)
I love your videos so much!! I'm already a month in of job hunting and so far I've got 2 over the phone initial interviews. The 2nd one, however, was a disaster, I feel like I could have done better. I wish I'd seen this video sooner. Your content has been really helpful, even before I started job hunting. So, about the last interview, a lot of factors contributed to what I felt like a poor interview. For one, they had me wait for an hour due to some technical difficulties, which was really unfortunate. Anyway, this is getting a little bit long, but I wanted to ask you, how can I feel not rushed in an interview? Even though I wanted to respect their time, it's just that every time I look at the interviewer they look like they are rushing and so I feel rushed as well. How do I deal with this? I want to do my best.
Hey Erin! I watched your video yesterday before my job interview. I've had enough job interviews in my life to know when I think that I impressed them enough to offer me the job. One of the interviewers is someone currently in the role in which I was interviewing and she seemed fairly critical of a few of my responses. This is the second time this company has wanted to interview me. I'm not really expecting to get the job, but I was looking at your videos and don't see that you have done one on thank you notes post interview. Would love your perspective

Your videos gave me the confidence to apply and remember to put myself and my well-being in front of the company's. Because I can be replaced at work. It would be annoying for them, but it's possible and doable. Thank you for these videos ❤
Following this advice for my interview today made me feel much more prepared. I did check out glassdoor, and some of the questions I found on there were asked.
Just got a job offer after applying your tips on the interview. Even though I had interviewes before it is always great to watch your video and feel more confident. Thanks a lot Erin!!
I aced my interview and got the job I wanted by listening and watching your videos. I took important notes and it helped me throughout the week. You're truly a life saver!

Impressive lecture bt.as a management professional I think HR Recruitment Audit system is very fruitful for interview nd it helps to select skilled employees in brief.Talent Aquisition can not be ignored apart from financial aspects.Good Topic.Appreciated the tips.Thanx for your point of inspiring views.👍
I’m always stuck in the “under qualified” or “definitely overqualified” debacle as a reason for them to sidestep the salary question.
This doesn't super apply with teaching interviews, but I appreciate the pep tall and certain parts of the video. Love this.
This was so helpful, I really appreciated the pep talk at the beginning😭 My dream job interview is tomorrow! I really hope i can nail this.
I actually have a job interview at the Culvers that is in the city/town that I live in and it is in about 37 minutes or so ( my job interview is from 3:00-3:30 pm where I live ) so thankfully I remember watching this video before today so I had went and rewatched it again… so hopefully my job interview at Culvers will go well because my only other job that I currently have is during the summertime at EAA during the preshow and during the actual air show convention which is during the last 2 weeks of the month of July every year
jimminey cricket, that pep talk made me tear up a bit. Great video !
6:32 Great metaphor, like getting 10 extra multiple shots on goal! if you do sports that is ^^
Your video is great. I love the first tip. Thank you!
Thank you for this! I have an interview today ❤
Excellent tips, but I have such a hard time to remember my stories!! What should I do?! 😭
rewatching this video because I have several interviews in the next few weeks for residency!
I literally have interview today!! The timing is amazing, thank you for your suggestions! ❤
Hi Erin, I've been following you for a while now and I really love your videos! Right now I have applied for a position in my current department. It is a higher position where I can develop further. Do you have any tips for internal job applications?
Could you do a video on tips for virtual interviews specifically?
This is EXACTLY what I needed! Really & truly, THANK YOU!
I really want this to work out 🤞
this was actually better advice than I thought it would be
Thanks, Tommorow I have an interview, I will use your tips.
I have an interview at 5 pm today, I'm a bit nervous but very hopeful!
This is an awesome perspective. Thank you.
Thank you for this video ❤❤ i needed the confidence boost
Currently looking for the right job ! Wish me luck 🙏 Kind of having a hard time ..
Thank you for helping us! You are truly an angel :)
You are amazing really. Your videos helped me alot in interviews i give around.
Interview tomorrow for my first full-time regular job in 5 years, thank you for this reminder ❤
